There is positive and negative to everything. The information on this forum has only served to help me as a fellow vaper. Sometimes vapers with negative feedback feel the need to apologize for there comments. To me, negative feedback is just as important as positive. We are here to help each other. The truth stands. A forum that is a mutual admiration society is of no help to anyone. Honest posts help everyone.

As long as the negative reviews are indeed reviews and not thinly disguised vendettas or revenge posts there is nothing wrong with a negative review. That is why I always suggest that someone that wants to "call out a vendor" take a deep breath and start off by posting the facts. The folks here on ECF are intelligent enough to look at the facts and determine if they warrant a negative review...

Edit: and of course you must follow the rules about no personal attacks and no vulgarity, regardless of how :censored: ...... off you are :)

Totally agree. I've tried so many different types of cart/atty/carto combos - it's cost me a small fortune! I wish somebody had told me to begin with not to bother with carts and go straight to tanks or cartos (Boge LRs FTW!)

Disclaimer: IMHO :)

No kidding. I wished someone would have told me too when I first started. Yes Boge FTW (add dual coils and Ikenvape also)!

I read all the reviews and agree with the OP. If you don't like something, don't try to sugar coat it but explain what you don't like about it. The negatives have helped me save money. Positives had me spending but in a good way. I just hope people don't write neutral reviews or I'll be broke in no time flat with a bunch of stuff I won't use...LOL.

Being able to see both sides of a coin are quite important. There are different experiences with products, and the feedback from both are what allow us to make an informed decision.

Protecting consumers is much more important then protecting your favorite supplier.

Fanboys will post over and over again defending a supplier, but how many people will defend that new user that just got price gouged on an ego that died in 3 days? Bad trend on ECF here, and seems to be getting worse. The nooby may be posting in a rage, but he/she is unhappy. They may very well just give up on e-cigs, and never post a word about their dealings with certain suppliers. For every 1 unhappy person that actually posts a bad review, there are hundreds or more that never say a word. ECF should be the place for ...... off people and Supplier Fanboys alike. I really want to know what vendors to avoid, and what products are junk.

I want to see happy people vaping whatever it takes to keep them away from cigs. I want everyone to feel free to share the good and the bad so I don't have to log into a forum full of advertiser spam and advertiser affiliates and reviewers doing biased reviews to get more free stuff.

I see this from time to time.

"I don't like this new "x" carto because it does not wick well and leaks like mad"

Reply

"that's because you didn't take it apart to glue this and fluff that and pry this. I am appalled you didn't think of this before flaming my favorite vendor"

No wonder people don't post a negative review more often

Okay, I'll stop being nice. You asked for it, so here it goes:

CE2 cartos SUCK! They're all pieces of non-wicking, gotta tweak them like crazy crap.

eGo Mega cartos (the ones where you have to pierce the top with a sharp object) are CRAP! They're hard to fill and they taste like CRAP!

For as much as I really like Gourmet Vapor, they're shipping during sales is exceedingly slow and it's pissing people off! I can't blame the customers for being upset about this. When they have a sale, they should get extra help or their employees should expect to work a little overtime. Get the orders out without any excuses. Period. Other vendors can do it.

When you take on the responsibility of a review .. that you know is going to be read by a lot of folks .. and you know many of those readers will believe your experience .. and there are few other resources out there that compile that information .. then it's essential to present an honest and as emmotionally devoid write-up as possible .. you owe that to your readers ..

On the flip side, being that it is the Internet .. readers should maintain a slight bit of the sceptic when reading .. nothing prevents folks from using mutiple emails and what not in order to maintain as many registered user names as they like and thus putting some spin on things .. just sayin' ..

There yah go !!! An honest opinion from an experienced vaporer. That makes ECF beautiful. Might make GotVapes and the other Failomizer fanboys mad, but its honest 8) If there was more honesty out there, and people less afraid to post their true experiences, we could all save a lot of money and time.

Thanks, Stownz! Ya know, I'm tired of being nice about things all the time. I'm tired of skipping over threads because I don't want to offend anyone with how I really feel about a product or a vendor. I'll give credit where credit is due (IkenVape and OSDIYS), but there are some products and vendors out there that really piss me off. I've wasted so much time and money in the ten months that I've been vaping and I don't want the new people to have the same experience. I'm just glad that I've finally found a couple of vendors that I really LOVE who offer dependable products and customer service. If that makes me a "fangirl" then so be it, but if I can post an honest negative review that might help someone avoid wasting their time and money, then why shouldn't I?

I don't want to spend $25 on a tank just so my CE2's might work. If someone else does, that's great. Go for it, but I'm still not going to say that the CE2's or Clearomizers are great because I don't think they are. I'm not a modder, so I don't want to take a Dremel after my cartos. I don't even own a Dremel! I don't think it's too much to ask for something to work with a minimum of fuss right out of the box.

When I order something and the order is wrong, I don't want to spend time emailing back and forth with the vendor arguing about how I'M wrong. Damn it, when I order XL 510 atomizers, I expect XL 510 Atomizers not XL eGo atomizers! I understand when orders get screwed up, but I don't understand being treated in such a way. I'm not trying to rip anyone off. I just want what I ordered.

And this is an example of a negative review that is within the rules :) See it really isn't that hard to vent a little without getting your post deleted or yourself in trouble.

Haha I love this thread so far!

I'm fairly new here, but I will concur that some vendors really don't seem to appreciate my business. As womanofheart was saying, if a vendor totally screws up my order, I shouldn't be made to feel like an inconvenience to them when I ask that they make it right. This ecig stuff is not cheap, and double checking an order before packing it up and charging me international shipping should be included in the price IMHO.

On the topic of rules of reviews, what kinds of things are against the rules? Is there a specific set of rules for reviews or is it the forum rules in general?

I hate cartos, everyone I've tried have tasted like crap and ended up with toasty filler (yes, I know how to fill them properly). CE2 suck (caveat below), Boge cartos suck, dual coil... ok, those weren't too bad and I have a few as my "backup" set... so all cartos except dual coils suck!

MAP tanks are good, I really like MAP tanks. Yeah, they're a bit expensive to get, and a pain to replace the CE2... but they do exactly what I wanted. Hold lots of liquid, clean taste (until they need their dry burn cleaning), little work (once together they last me a few weeks to a month before needing replacement), and yeah.. that's about it. Oh, and no leaking... but the MAP tanks can leak sometimes if you leave them on their side :(

Hoping the iAtty works as well, or better, than the MAP tank. If it works as well and doesn't leak, I may finally be able to stop looking.

Same rules always apply, but if you want to be a "real" reviewer and link to your review site/youtube channel/etc you need to apply to be a Registered Reviewer before you can link to your site and advertise it here.

I haven't read anything in the Forum Rules stating that anyone needs to be a Registered Reviewer before being able to post a link to their YouTube channel or review page. Suppliers need to be registered before they can post, but that's to protect forum members from spam and sub-par sites.

There are sub-forums where people can post links to video or blog reviews.

Thanks WomanofHeart for your review.... I havent tried CE2 cartos yet, and I dont believe I will. I dont have a dremel (thats odd for me) but I do have a bunch of drills/saws/hammers to drill/saw/hammer it if needed.... however... thats not what I want to do. right out the box, working, yes. If I change my mind down the line and want to drill one, I will expect it to be noted on the suppliers forum that I will need to drill or grind or paint it or whatever the case may be. Thank you again for your review, and I would like to hear more... but please... dont use that font again.... it made my eyes wobble. }:)>
