I've got another quick question. Something that's REALLY bothering me...

I've changed out my 490 batteries twice. Both times, the tube will not close "flush" all the way. Notice the little gap in the pic. Please tell me how to fix this!!

Thanks!!

1. Put your atty on, adjust the 510 pin
2.screw battery tube that connects to 510 connection piece
3. insert battery, screw in next tube
4. adjust negative pin

clones are not always perfect, but you should be able to come close.

I'm just puzzled because it used to fit flush. In this pic, isn't the body supposed to unscrew (right above the locking ring, where you can see the little hole) as well?? The only way I seem to be able to access the button pin (to adjust it) is by sticking my finger all the way down the bottom part of the tube. Hope these pics help!

Your pic doesn't show for me, so I'll wing it for an answer. Take the top cap to a hardware store, like Ace or True Value, one that sells individual screws. Get a m5 set screw. Actually get a few. Make sure they screw into the delrin insulator part of the top cap just in case I got the size wrong. Cut them to various lengths for the various length batteries. I have 3 Nemeses and I use my replacement pins on all of them because I made it long enough to be able to use the beauty ring (the small 5mm long polished finished ring) because I think it looks better.

Once you've gotten the hang of how to adjust the bottom switch for battery length you'll understand why an extra pin or two of various lengths are handy.

make sure you pull the beauty ring off unless you're using a kick or a fuse. It will give you an extra gap that you CAN fill with a longer contact pin but it will make the throw long and wonky.. I think this is where the nemesis gets it's "crunchy fire button" reputation. I've never had a crunchy button on mine because I use the pieces needed for the battery and setup I'm using and keep everything nice and snug..

***edit*** looking at your pics again... kinda hard to tell but you may actually want to try and add the beauty ring. It seems your nemesis is ending up just about the perfect amount of mm's short. (that's the itty bitty ring that you can barely tell is there until you unscrew it.)

no.. The button assembly comes out of the bottom under the locking ring. Then the locking ring screws off. The part with the vent holes in it is actually part of the main body of the mod.

Thanks but yes the beauty ring has been removed. It seems to me when I first got this, the very bottom of the tube (near the locking ring) also unscrewed for better access to the button (pin) is this not true?

I'd agree with K702. Looks like your tube assembly is that little bit too short for the batteries you are using so I'd add the beauty ring. The button assembly is removed by unscrewing the button itself, then the whole mechanisim will come out. In the past I have noticed when adjusting/removing the tubes and button they can get stuck for some reason. If the button will not unscrew, keep trying the other threaded pieces one by one. Some times you have to loosen one tube in order for the others to come apart. Perhaps your button is having that problem and is giving you the impression that it doesn't come apart at that point.

time2quit, I have the same mod and had the same problem. I adjusted it again last night.

You need to adjust the pin on the firing button down and it will close the gap. I find that if I leave just a small crack between the firing bottom and the bottom of the tube everything works perfectly.

Do you use magnets or springs on your firing button?

Springs for now, the magnets are on the way!

Does anybody know of a way I can get that loose...to be able to unscrew the firing unit?

Eeks...I don't know if this will work...put it in fridge/freezer..it seems that's everybody answer when things get stuck

Edit: looking further...it looks like the spring is causing the problem..take some pliers and move them around...don't worry..you can always find replacement springs at your hardware store and cut them..or wait for the magnets..
