My very 1st post on ANY forum !

After reading reviews til my eyes 'bled', just ordered V4L VK auto for ease of use and portabilty. Nowhere (on the V4L site) can I find what battery # or size it is that comes with it.
Know there are other vendors out there with less expensive batts and cartomizers. Need help on which are most reliable, last longest and are compatable (cartomizers and batts both).
Have gone thru 4 ENVY ecigs since I stopped analogs on Feb. 21st, 2011. They are a really cheap 3 pc. and should be classified as a disposal, but it was all that was available in our small rural area @ $28 a pop.
Now taking the next step :) .

After 35 yrs of analogs, even using a 'crappy' ecig is better than smoking any 'stink ridden' analog.
I'm a vaper for life !!!

Yeah, I use a KR808D-1 and am VERY happy with it. The 84 mm battery is the mid-size (280 omh) for the 808s and with the caromizer on it, it's just a little bit longer than a 100. The XL battery would give you more vapor but is really too long. A passthru runs at 5V (plugs into a USB) and gives GREAT amount of vapor. You'd have to go with a mod if you want more portable power.

Edit: www.heavengifts.com has the least expensive I've ever seen and a 6 month warranty but I don't know about shipping cost (takes a LONG time to get it from China though; around 20 days).

Ok, I've been lurking for a bit and finally made the plunge to post because, like so many of us, I have dived into the vaping waters and now am just a little over my head with info.

I have a Riva 901 starter kit which I love. I also bought a V4L vapor king manual starter kit because I read - on this wealth of information site - that cartos last longer for the work day, etc. I need this because Hubby is also going to switch off analogs as soon as I finish all this reconn. He works outside all day and I need it as simple and, dare I say, "idiot-proof" as possible. I got the V4L and tried it out today. Like it just fine. Like my Riva battery better. I'm leaning towards using the atty/carts at home and cartos when out and about.

This thread mentioned V4L batteries, which is why I am posting here. What size carto is on the V4L manual VK - or whatever - that I have? Should I get an adapter so I can screw these onto my Riva battery or is another type/size carto a better option? If so, what adapter do I need to make (whatever type) carto fit the Riva battery?

Thank you for your advice and patience, ECF. The research I did here made the switch trouble free! Been vaping for 5 days, no analogs, no regrets.

Hi, I started vaping in March with the KR808's from V4L. I prefer the manuals, could not get use to the automatics. Recently, I moved on up the line and started vaping with ECHO's. Loving my Echos. Having used the manuals and reading reviews on the Echos I decided to try the automatic (ECHO-e is the manual), this big daddy is like drawing on a regular analog. Very smooth. Some of the 808 cartridges will fit the automatic but it looks funky. The carts on the Echo hold about 3 mil and the Echo E about 2.5 mil. I filled my first one with about 100+ drops and top it off each evening with about 20-30 drops, depending on how much I've vaped that day. I put the battery on charge evey nite, I've not let it go dead yet, so it last me all day, some times 1.5 days b4 I swap out. This is a larger device, not "cute" like the KR808's...but if you're looking for convenience the Echo is by all means the way to go! Didn't think I'd be too tuned in to it....but I am...the batteries are 1300 mah. I've posted a link to where I got my first kit....he doesn't have a website but is very trust worthy and is selling out quickly. Great prices too! I just ordered a mini Echo E from him and should be receiving it anyday now. Good luck with your vaping!!

Well, color me platinum! Thanks for not pointing out the obvious. And - make it double platinum roots, please - I'm staring at both of them now. Just switched them out. Works great. See, I told you it was info overload - LOL

On to the next stray thought - is another carto a better mix/lasts longer? This one seems to last well enough, just asking.

oh no......LOL don't start the battle over who has the best KR808d-1 cartos LMAO, those are fightin words to some people on here!. It just comes down to what vender you like really. There are two types vertical and horizontal coil. then of course there are different ohm rating in each. If you are happy with V4L cartos stick with them, you will probably get flooded with responses telling how the Bloog cartos are the best thing since sliced bread, but there are just to many variables to say which is the best for you.

 Didn't mean to start anything. What I have is good. Thank you.

BTW - Hubby is trying vaping out as we speak/type. Mom will be vaping this Sunday as I have ordered her a kit before we head to Universal Studios with the kids next week.
