I prefer using fine strand silicone shielded wire, not only does it stand up to high heat but because of the fine strands and soft silicone shielding it is really flexible and easy to deal with.
Looks like Hobby King is now stocking it in their US warehouse

On the tact switches it looks like the mouser switch has a shorter button than the mad vapes switch. Radio Shack typically has both long and short tact switches. Pretty much any tact switch will work as far as the dna is concerned, you will just want to find one that works best for the application.
