BE510 USB PASSTHROUGH - White For JOYE510

My Problem
I recently bought a white usb passthrough from Rocky Mountain Vapor. It worked perfectly up until last night when I noticed this disgusting taste like the original primer in the atomizer. Assuming it was my atomizer, I blew out the juice and dripped liquid into it. However, the taste still remained. I looked inside the atomizer while pressing the button on the passthrough and the coils at the bottom turned bright red in less than 5 secs, and this is when the atomizer hadn't been used in a few minutes. It also produced smoke/vapor with the awful smell. I switched to my regular battery and there was no red coils or smoke.

Don't Believe it's the Atomizer
I tried the passthrough with a separate atomizer and clean cart and the disgusting taste began with the this one. I know that it's not the atomizer itself because they work perfectly with my actual batteries. The atomizers and passthroughs were bought together one week ago.

Questions
1) Has anyone else experienced this with their passthrough?
2) What could be the cause? My computer possibly?
3) Could this just be a faulty passthrough?
4) Is it possible that dripping on the atomizer has caused this taste? I hope not :/

well no....it should be the other way around. The battery should be getting charged while it is plugged in and then you should be able to unplug it and use for however long the battery lasts. The battery should also be acting as sort of a resister or voltage regulator to keep the voltage being delivered to the atty at AROUND 3.7volts. (btw...what kind of atty are you using,if you know? what is the resistance or ohm rating?)

Questions
1) Has anyone else experienced this with their passthrough? Absolutely,yes2) What could be the cause? My computer possibly?doubtful if your PC has USB2 ports. But make sure...some older ones have USB2 in the front and USB1 in the back...or the other way around. Even so still doubtfull...the problem would be the other way around..you would fry your motherboard or your USB ports :( Think about getting a USB adapter/converter that plugs into the wall. Madvapes has very good ones...2amps
3) Could this just be a faulty passthrough?possible...but more likely a bad inline battery. Replace the battery first. That is the most likely problem
4) Is it possible that dripping on the atomizer has caused this taste? I hope not :/
No....not the way you describe. You can certainly flood the atty enough times to leave a nasty deposit but the taste and behavior you describe doesn't sound like that is the problem

Again....this is just my experience and there are plenty of others who have more experience than me. <my disclaimer :)> That said...I would write to your supplier immediately, explain the problem just like you did in your post and note the date of your post as well as the order number and date of purchase. I do not personally know your supplier but most of them have some type of warranty....but it may be very short...a couple days to a week. That is why you want to mention dates. See what they say....hopefully they will offer to send you a new battery...if they are not helpful then just buy a new battery and find a new supplier.

There is an Ask the Experts subforum here....it is the best place to go for quick accurate answers to tech problems. Or the supplier. Hope this helps you and that my information was accurate. If it isn't...I'm sure someone will let us know post haste. :)
Cheers!:toast:

Ohhh nevermind. I take back what I said. It has an 'no inline battery.
New user mistake....... I apologize.

It's states "5v No Inline Battery"

I'll probably just try it one more time and if I notice problems I'll contact the supplier. Thanks for the tips about being specific with the dates. It'll be more persuasive.

alrighty then....I take back everything I said. :) This is a whole different story. Sounds like a bad PT....write the supplier and hope for the best. But don't expect it since you have been using it a week. But it is still my opinion that you should stop using it...especially if it's plugged into your PC. If you want to replace it get one of those USB wall adapters from Madvapes....and while your there look at the Sit and Go 510 PT. They are $14...only draw 300ma (according to them...I'ld test it) and run off a mini USB card that plugs directly into the e-cig itself. Want to go do something else...just unplug it and go...you've got a fully charged 180mah 510 battery. pretty cool...can't wait to get mine!

Im not sure why it would give the bad smoke BUT - Ive found that that the 5v PTs dont work right using a PC port - you need an ac/usb wall adapter that puts out around (or up to) 2 amps. Your PC ports wont push that much out. My 5v hated my PC ports :)
It works 'sometimes' on them only. With the USB/AC wall plug it works 'always' (unless I get juice on the contact plate between that atty and PT conenctor then it wont work lol, a wipe with a cotton bud sets things right though.
COuld it possibly be that?
