Today I got my 510, and so far I'm loving it. It seems to hit at least as well as the blu does when I drip with a removed wick. Awesome flavor and throat hit. I'm not really liking the manual battery though. the way I have to hold it feels weird. At the same time, the autos don't seem much better than the L88b batteries in terms of sensitivity, so I might just stick with manual. We'll see as time goes by.

I have a few more questions. About how long will it take for the atomizer to break in? Do you normally disconnect your 510 like the manual that comes with it says to? Does it even matter?
Will it hurt to leave a battery on the charger? How long does it usually take to charge a battery anyway? I probably won't always be able to just sit and watch it, so I hope it's okay to leave on the charger.

My manual battery just died, and I'm now using my auto. While it seems to be easy to set it off by wind, simply dropping it doesn't seem to do anything. This seems like a good sign so far. The drag is very light, much lighter than with the manual. Also, as was expected, and is probably obvious, it is much more like smoking an actual cigarette.

About how long will it take for the atomizer to break in?

You just "puff off" the primer fluid (don't inhale) a few puffs, drop a couple drops of your nicquid on the bridge (mesh loop inside atty) and puff a couple times. That should do it.

Do you normally disconnect your 510 like the manual that comes with it says to? Does it even matter?

lol I didn't read the manual. When the battery is done charging, I just unscrew it off the charger and put another battery on. If the manual has a different suggestion, you should probably do it the way the manual says to. I have had no issues just switching batteries in/out.

Will it hurt to leave a battery on the charger?

Not if you leave it overnight or for a day. I wouldn't suggest an extended length of time on the charger, however.

How long does it usually take to charge a battery anyway?

About 6 hours the first time, 3 hours or thereabouts every time thereafter.

Good luck to you! Enjoy your 510! :)

First chance you get, you should upgrade to the eGo. The batteries last all day on a single charge. No worrying about a charge case

...No... I don't want that obnoxious looking thing, and I don't really need a PCC as it is anyway since blu batteries are compatible, and I already have a PCC for that.

Oddly enough, the blu has a much larger hole in the battery than the 510, yet I have had zero leakage problems while dripping.

I just recently (about a 20 days ago) got my first E cig, which is a joye 510 manual. And it works greats.

It took a few days for my atomizer to break in (2-3 days of ocassional smoking) Once it broke in, it vaped up a storm of smoke.
(the new attys come with a primer in them, which can make the smoke harse, all I did was take off the atty, and blow it into a paper towel to get the primer out.

When I charge my batteries I will usually leave the battery in the charger until my second battery has run out, this could be anywhere from 8 to 14 hours on the charger (sometimes longer), and it hasn't hurt the batteries.

My kit came with a short battery and a long battery, the other day I did some tests on how long it would take to charge them and how long they last, here are the results
(the results below, are from when I was continually vaping, (while working on my computer) I would probably take a good puff every 30sec to a minute)

The results are for manual batteries
Short bat Lasts- 2Hrs 45mins (this time will vary, but I usually get over 2hrs of smoking)
Short Bat Charge time- 1Hr 16mins

Long Bat Lasts- 6Hrs 13mins (this time will vary, but I usually get over 5hrs of smoking)
Long Bat Charge Time- 2Hrs 30mins

I forgot to mention that when I am working on my pc, vaping constantly, the battery that I am charging will always be completely charged before my other battery has run out of charge. no matter if Im smoking with the small bat and waiting for the long bat to charge or the other way around.

If your going to be using this around town, I would advise that you buy at least one more battery, I like the longer batteries better because they last longer, but I like the look of the short batteries better.
If you were to buy more batteries, and expect them to last you through a night out with friends (drinking or what not) you would only prob need one more of the long batteries, if you went with the short batteries you would prob need at least 2 (maybe 3)

Thats if your like me and smoke one during that day, (I always have one battery (out of my two) to take out on the town, depending on which one Im smoking at the moment it (I really need another long bat, so I can be ready to go out, and not worry about running out of a charge)

About battery charging process, I've noticed that my batteries (1 x 510 and 2 x Tornado/eGo) last longer if I leave them charging a few hours after the light turns green. I'm using a multi-charger. It feeds 150 mA for each charging battery. I do not know how chargers know when a battery is fully charged but I think they measure the current absorbed by the battery (how many mA is the battery consuming) so if their measures are wrong, the battery can hold more charge but the charger light turns green.

Okay, now I'm a bit concerned and confused. I'm using the blue foam mod on my 510. For some reason, the atomizer tastes burnt(not all the time, but more often than I'd like), yet there is plenty of juice in the cart. Is there a special way to do the mod on a 510 that I need to know about? Usually when I taste burnt liquid in my blu, it means I need to add more liquid, but now this tastes burnt anyway. Maybe I just need to put it down and wait a little longer? Sometimes it seems to not be wicking too because even though there's plenty of juice that I can clearly see, it doesn't want to produce much vapor at all. I like this thing, but it's given me a new learning curve...

When you get burnt taste soon after refilling your carts you may have a wicking problem. To be sure, you can drip a few drops directly to the atty and take a few drags. If the burnt taste appears later than with the cart, you can be pretty sure that you need a cart mod because your cartridges do not provide enough juice to your atty.

Well, that's the thing. I already did the blue foam mod, and I don't understand why it's tasting burnt. Is there a special way to do the blue foam mod with a 510? I don't see what I could possibly be doing wrong. I'd already used the blue foam mod on my blu, which made it much better, so I didn't even bother with the poly fill at all when I got my 510.

Did you tried to drip to discard that the problem is in the atty? If not, put 2-3 drops directly on the bridge of the atty, insert a cartridge without any filler, and take a few drags. Remember to align the cartridge with the atomizer matching the white shape seen under the bridge with the shape of cartridge chamber. If you are not aligning the cartridge you may be melting it a little.

I do not know anything about the "blu" PV, I only know that it exists, but I had the same problem with my 510. The burnt taste I had was because my atomizer was not wicking well, I think you have the same issues. In the first case, I thought I was melting the cartridge so I removed 2mm of the cartridge from the atomizer side. This gave me more draws before the burnt taste. Then, I noticed I was not aligning the cartridge with the atomizer shape. Since I align it properly, I get a few more draws before the burnt taste. Finally, I tried different mods and no one gave me more than three or four draws before the burnt taste. The best mods I found are http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/cartridge-mods/70962-my-simple-cart-mod.html and those based on Lipton PTB. The composition of the PTB looks very promising and I could get a shape/form that wicks very well with my 510 atomizer. I recommend you to try with some PTB mods instead of the blue foam. Anyway, I got tired and started to drip. Now I love dripping and I do not know when I will return to improve my PTB mod or try other cartridge mods.

Dripping gives me an additional feature, I can control the time I spend in vaping. When I was with burning cigarettes, I used to make short breaks for the time of one or two cigarettes. Using cartridges with my PV I lost this behavior. Now, I put 3 drops into the atomizer and vape until I get the burnt taste, which means that I finished my break time.
