I recently purchased 3 new attys, they look nothing like attys I have used for 4 months. Inside they are brighter metal and where the wick comes out it looks like a washer, nothing else. The problem is that since the air hole is located close to the end which screws onto the PT or batt, gravity seems to be causing juice to constantly leak out the air hole. Lots of juice, it drips down the entire PV onto my hand. I have never had an air hole on an atty leak like this til I got these new attys.

Does anyone know if 901 attys are going to be made from now on in such a way that they are going to drip juice constantly from the vent holes?

I still have some older attys from last fall, as well as some of the newer ones you mentioned. The air holes in both styles I have are the same distance from the battery end. At first I liked the newer style attys, but now I'm undecided. The newer style seem to get hotter faster and tend to clog up more often, but that could just be the juice I'm using. I need more testing....

I must have stumbled into the twilight zone??? I haven't seen a 901 that doesn't have the air hole there.

The inside does sound different though and, as said, I've seen some 510s like that.

Any chance you could post a pic of the 2 models side by side so I can get a reality check?

I feel stupid, truly I do, I looked at the other attys I have and yes the air hole is at the bottom. But I could have sworn that the very first ones I got almost a year ago with my first kit had the hole not right at the top, but higher. I had auto batts and my fingers kept stopping up the holes. so I was constantly checking to see where the hole was at.

Be that as it may, the insides are completely different. I am now thinking it is the inner workings of this atty style that are doing something to cause the juice to pour out so bad. I am sorry I can't get a decent pic of the inside of the atty,I don't have a way to take pics of something that would need light. All I know with absolute certainty is these new attys are a friggin mess, juice drips all over everything and until now, I have never had juice drip anywhere out of my ecig.

Phew... I'm not going mad. lol.

There could be a couple of reasons why these new designs are leaking more from the air hole. They may use a less dense mesh that doesn't hold the juice as well. Or maybe the opening to the bottom hole has been made to not allow juice throught it. So leakage that would normally be going unseen into your battery is now going over your fingers instead.

We'll have to wait for someone to take one apart I guess.

I am so glad you brought this up, Bellasin, as I have been having the exact same experience with this different, plain washer looking style of 901 atty. It is definitely something new, as I have been using the 901 for over 10 months. I also thought maybe it was my juice, as it tends to be thicker and darker and can lead to more atty cleaning for me. But these "new" atties definitely clog much faster and definitely leak through the hole!

Luckily, I just recently took a chance and ordered 10 of them from ecigsupply.com. They arrived yesterday and they are the good old style 901 attys!!! High bridge/wick and not that plain washer type of plate.

Not to mention they also have great prices, especially if you order a quantity, along with a discount that is matched by the company as a donation to Haiti. How much better can you get?! Fast delivery too. I am a new fan, and hope that they realize that they have the good kind of 901 atty, and can keep supplying them...

Aloha
