throat hit is affected by nic level, but more so by the PG level, power through it and if it doesn't settle you may want to consider mixing your own juices.

Thanks Moosh. If I remember correctly, PG produces a better flavor, and VG produces more vapor? if I had a 75/25 mix of PG/VG, would that cut down the throat hit? What I'm trying to ask is, what way do I go with PG to ease the throat hit?

Thanks again,
-Ryan

SO I have been hammering away on my eGo-T and I still like it. It functions well and I like the design. I just found out though, it is not recommended for used with VG fluids. .... Soooo, what atomizer/tank system can I get that will work with VG fluids? Any chance I can use my eGo batteries also? I would like to take advantage of their variable voltage battery.

As always, thanks for the help!

From my stand point, you are hitting it correctly. Getting started with the eGo is easy, the big deal is getting your vaping habits set. After that, expand out. That took me close a year.. I have 10 eGo batteries and have tried a lot of atties, cartos, clearomizers, tanks. You just have to find what you like and you will settle in... For me, the F2 and C5 are my go to's and I've bought 3 VV batteries, now just thinking it's time to expand out...

I personally don't like a single flavor for long, so, I have 3 or 4 eGo set up's with me with different juices. It's just like smoking, after a while, I didn't taste the cig., I just got the hit, now with vaping, I want to taste, but if I hit the same flavor for several hours straight (I'm a chain vaper), I lose the flavor for a couple days, even a strong flavor like cinnamon fireball will get to the point that you don't taste if after a while, so by varying, you prevent burn out.... I started out like you, with the T, jumped all over the C when it came on out early this year, now, I only use a T to taste new flavors when mixing, and the C shells are in a drawer...

Not sure what tanks will work with straight VG, many vendors offer mixed PG/VG in different percentages that will work with most tanks. My understanding is the higher the VG the more trouble you will have with wicking, with the cartomizer tanks you can enlarge the holes or add new ones to cartomizer, slotting with a dremel tool is very common as is punching with a carto punch or saddle valve. I ordered by accident a juice in straight VG, did not have much problem vaping it in Boge 2 ohm carto, just didn't like the sweetness of the straight VG.

O, I almost forgot... The only thing that stopped me from getting the Provari was the menu system. After watching some YouTube video's and realizing they weren't a joke, I was shocked. You can click that button over 50 times just to get it dialed in!!! I'm sure once you have it set, it's good, but it reminded me of a timex watch I had when I was a kid. The lavatube seemed to have a better menu setup/function, but the Provari seemed to have far better reviews for actual vaping (backed by the members here too). I will keep an eye on this company and see if they come to a more user friendly design.

Thanks again for all the help.

You have made a solid choice for your first vaporizer. There are many other steps and directions you can take before deciding on such an expensive device(Provari). I do have to chime in about the Holy Grail of vapeland. I do own two and before that I had a lavatube. As for quality of the build and performance IMHO they arent close to being in the same ball park. Anyone who is put off because of the menu system, this really isnt an issue. I had the same concerns before purchasing one. Literally within 20 minutes, I was browsing through the menu options like a champ. This has never been an issue since. Welcome to the forum and keep up the good work. Stick with it, before too long you will not even think about the stinkies!!

Hi and welcome to the wide whacky world of vapping :vapor: I say whacky cause you will find it while researching all this stuff. Anyway the little cigarette style vaporizers are definitely not the way to go. They have improved but the ego style ones should be the standard starter kits but that's just a personal opinion. I truly believe they made a mistake by labeling these as e cigarettes. These are not nor do they act anything like a real cigarette. They are electronic vaporizers period and should always be referred as such. What they can do is simulate (and the ego does that extremely well by the way) smoking a real cigarette. I can't say what will work for you only what worked for me a two pack a day habit for 30 + years. An ego battery 900mah pass thru capable with a vision clearomizer and 24mg tabacco flavored juice. Quit the day I bought it and fired it up. Now I'm using what's called a variable voltage vaporizer because it gives me more choices. In the end it comes down to what satisfies you personally. Check out some of the suggestions that others have made here and I'm. sure you'll find what you need.

Another good place to start out as far as transitioning from smoking to vaping is the Joytech Ego. I personally started vaping with the Blu e-cig and honestly it really didnt do much for me the battery only lasted 1-2 hours and my cravings werent satisfied. The Joytech Ego is what broke the barrier for me and the options are endless with them, the day I bought my Ego was the day I quit analogs

Sent from my Galaxy Note II

That's what did it for me! I started with the store bought types to see if I would miss the "real thing". I actually liked the BLU, but it didn't last long and I wanted to try different flavors.

I originally went with a Halo cigarette looking type kits. I loved it at first, but after a while, I found the main issue was the wick system in those type of kits. There's some kind of fiber that holds the liquid. This is fine I guess if you want to use the same flavor over and over again in the same Atomizer. I never burned out one of those atomizers, but after about 7 refills, it would appear that the vaping was getting harder and I would have to draw harder to get a decent vape. Trying to clear out an existing flavor was more of a pain than what it was worth. Secondly, the fiber types require more of a PG based fluid over VG because it would burn more efficiently in the fiber Atomier. I'm not sold on propylene glycol.

I switched to a eGo T system as some places were discontinuing them, so I got a bargian price on a starter kit. When I started my first eGo vape, I realized there was a TON of flavor that I was missing in using those fiber filled Atomizers. I was instantly sold! I have found though with a cart type system, I'm better off with more of a VG based liquid over PG based. Increasing the thickness of the liquid and swapping out the hard plastic caps for silicone caps prevented any seeping of juice. I've also been able to rinse out and reuse my cartridges for months without any issues. This allows me to "flavor hop" without any lingering after taste from the previous flavor.

I have since swapped out my eGo-T Atomizers for the eGo-C type B (uses the same carts as eGo-T) and Low Resistance Atomizers. Now when an atomozer weakens, I don't have to replace the whole tube, just the atomizer device. I have also found the eGo-C to be easier to keep clean. One of my buddies got me to try the Kanger T-3 system. I'm still playing but there's even more flavor with the T-3 on my eGo battery. I just can't get used to the hard tip on the Kanger.

Enjoy!

Thanks for all the replies! I am looking into getting a variable voltage battery for my eGo-T B. I'm just not sure what coils can be used with it?

I am going to do a bit more research and probably pick up the Provari soon. But I do like the simplicity of me eGo for now. Good to know the Provari menus aren't bad once you get used to them.

Now, if I can find a place that sells juices in SE Michigan for those emergency runs...

Here's one that I can recommend in the area - Vapor Indulgence - Home

Jessy can tailor it to your preferences and the prices are reasonable.

You might also want to look at the Vamo for a very good variable voltage /variable wattage device that can use multiple battery configurations. The people I know who have it are pleased and it is relatively inexpensive.
