EJB10, I'm not one to give you advice on too much here since I'm very new to this world, but in case it's helpful, I'll just say this, since you mention price and saving money: We bought an Ego starter kit and a couple of small bottles of liquid to try out, and I calculated that by today, our fifth day of vaping versus smoking, we've recouped that investment in the sense that we would have spent that much on cigarettes (we would have spent a little more, actually)... so we got a pretty nice high-quality but basic kit that works well for us now, and haven't spent any more money than if we hadn't changed a thing.
We'll continue to reasonably invest in upgrades, back-ups, etc., and obviously, we need to buy juice, but experience so far indicates it's going to be pretty easy to keep costs way down in relation to regular cigarette expense, and I figure as long as we aren't spending more than we would for analogs, we can get ourselves set up with very decent vaping gear as we go along in the beginning, and not sweat the price.
Your mileage may vary in terms of how much you normally spend on cigs, but we've been spending about $100 a week for two of us (a number I haven't wanted to face before! ugh.), and it seems to me it would be a lot of crazy spending for us to keep that up that level of expenditure with vaping. (Oh, I'd love to spend a bunch of money on all the shiny things -- if I had a bunch of money -- but seriously I don't need all that; I need a good way to quit the awful cigarettes, and I have found that already for a very, very decent price, but not the lowest price!)
