Hello everyone! I am new to vaping. I have been smoking for 10 years now and I am a pack a day smoker of Camel Menthol Silvers. I decided to purchase the eGo-C and bought 18mg PG blend eliquid from ejuicemonkeys.com. I just started using it last night and have a few questions. The flavors are not strong at all and I am getting a slight headache. Am I doing something wrong? I was unsure what level of nicotine to get and what blend so I took a wild guess. Do the quality of the eliquids vary from company to company? Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, the qualtity varies, but the stuff you got isn't bad. It could just be the flavor. You really need to buy many small bottles until you find one or more that you like. There is a different technique to vaping than smoking. You have to take long, gentle draws. Hold the vapor in your mouth a while before you inhale, and use your nose to exhale. Most of the nicotine is absorbed in your mouth and sinuses, not your lungs. Strictly speaking, you don't have to inhale at all.

The eGo-C and eGo-T are both known for muting flavors. Take off that "C" stuff and try it with a 1.7ohm Smoketech cartomizer or a 2ohm Boge cartomizer and it will taste better. You'll probably end up doing away with the "C" tank and atty anyway. Most people do.

I used to smoke about a pack and half of the same cigs you did. I'm using anywhere from 18-24 mg and doing just fine on that so I doubt it's the nic that's giving you a headache unless you chain vape..... But you may want to try and see if ure doing better with 12 mg juices. They didn't do the trick for me but everyone is different........

I was smoking the same kind of cigarettes as you and I quit and started vaping almost 2 weeks ago. I'm using 12 mg strength liquids and have no cravings at all. In fact I still have half a pack of cigs upstairs and I haven't touched them since my kit came in the mail. I have a kgo kit with vision clearomizers aka "stardusts". My favorite flavors so far are vanilla mint from virgin vapor and pure pear from highbrow vapor. The vanilla mint satisfies the menthol cravings and the pear is so refreshing and clean tasting. I've tried menthol liquids but they're not my favorites. Although today I mixed menthol and "candy cane" and it was awesome.

Of course flavors vary among vendors. Most places will add extra flavor if you ask (sometimes for a small extra charge). I'm pretty new to this as well, so I can't advise on your setup... Good luck and keep trying to find something that works for you.

18mg should be fine for a pack-a-day smoker. When you say the flavors are not strong, do you mean the various flavorings of the juices (such as caramel, chocolate, vanilla, etc.) or that you're not getting much of a throat hit from it? If it's the throat hit, then order some juices in an 80PG/20VG blend. PG gives the throat hit, and VG gives the vapor.

If it's the flavorings, you'll just have to try different vendors and juices to find what you like. Some vendors, such as ECBlends, allow you to order it with extra flavoring or even double-extra flavoring.

Most tanks ecigs, have a big problem, I found that the atomizer gets really hot and burns the plastic around the hole of the tank, to me that gives me a headache, I would suggest you to get cartomizers, and try small samples until you find the one you like, then buy big, dont worry about the price as your making a life time saving in cigarettes, your health, doctors bills and your overall quality of life, your health will improve dramatically, so I would say, you made the first step, but you need to find the right shoes so try what you like and buy bulk to save money later, you can also make your own juice in the future... Good luck! and Congrats on your big first step!

Hi NCChick, welcome to ECF and congrats. As sailorman mentioned vaping is much different than smoking. I just bought an EGo-C for a friend but got the Vision Stardusts and some cartos for him. He's completely satisfied with the setup. Realize the eGo tanks will mute the flavor. Yes the quality of flavors does vary greatly from company to company. The best advice I can give you is to buy sampler packs until you find your "sweet spot". Use the atomizer to test the juices taste wise.
Good Luck.

Wow, lots of cartomizer fans :) Going to have to give that a go after a few months with my own Ego C. I should have kept reading before purchasing heh.

Hello Folks,
I also need some advice and/or input.
I’ve been vaping for a little over 3 weeks using the eGo-t, I think I would like to move up, don’t get me wrong, I like my eGo-t, but I’m looking at two different VV’s; the Apollo VTube Kit for $74.95, and the My Freedom Smokes Lambo Variable Voltage Mod $79.95 (Upgraded Bomber $89.95) Starter Kit.
I can’t see a difference in the two other than the price, am I missing something?

@Cappy: You never know - you might not care for cartos; it's true that they mute (or smooth?) flavor, but it's also true that cartos change that flavor. I am a carto man myself, but I don't hate the eGo-T/eGo-C/TGo setup at all - the "cooler" vape is, to me, quite enjoyable. Just feels a lot different - and the cleaner taste is a big plus, in my book. I'm okay with the muted flavor; to me, the real downside is just that the vape is *always* cold. I like the warmer vape provided by other setups. It's all in what *you* prefer...

@Zee Zelot: Those both look like lavatubes to me - in fact, they both show the 2.5amp cutoff, so they look to be effectively identical, with the exception of the Apollo claim that they have the only SS ones around. Sadly, I don't know anything about these two vendors; perhaps others here have dealt with one or both of them.

I can’t see a difference in the two other than the price, am I missing something?

There are three versions of the Lavatube, plus the Lambo, presently.
The first version has a 2.5amp cutoff. It also has a reputation of dropping your voltage as the battery drains. All of Apollos Vtubes are the first version electronics.
I have this one and I'm o.k. with it, but I'd go for one of the other models.
Apollo is a good vendor and they do, in fact, have the only Stainless model. But it's base on the original electronics, so it has those limitations. If you use a 1.5 ohm carto, it will limit your voltage to 3.7, regardless of what you dial in. It will drop your voltage as the battery drains, so you have to hit the + button now and then.

The second version raised the amp limit to 3.2amps. This lets you use any carto out there without limiting your voltage.
It also corrected the problem with voltage dropping and added a display to show the resistance of your carto.

The third version is the same as the second version, except it uses a tapered metal cap on top an raised the amps to 4.0. Now, you can pop 1.5ohm cartos all day long at 6 volts.

Unfortunately, all the fancy looking stainless and chrome on brass ones are version 1, with the 2.5amp limit and the voltage problem.

The 3.2amp model is referred to as version 1.5

The 4 amp model is refirred to as version 2, or version 1.5 t.

The Lambo is a 2.5 amp version with a nicer battery connection. I'm not sure what the Upgraded Bomber is. It could be a version 1.5 with a 3.2 amp cutoff. The Bomber was the original name of MFS's Lavatube version.

You can get a version 1.5 or 2 for the same price, or less than the older version 1's.

When you're looking at these, it's best just to separate them in your head by their amp limit. It'll be 2.5, 3.2 or 4amps.

A version 2 is available for $50 for the tube only. You'll need to buy your own batteries and charger. Vaporalley.com has them and they call them version 1.5 t. They also have a 6 month warranty. This is the best deal, IMO, as long as you don't mind choosing any color as long as it's black.

Vaporbeast.com also carries the version 2 in a full kit for $70, but they're out of stock.

CrystalClearVaping cariies the full version 1.5 kit for $75. They may be out of stock.

Smokeanywhereforpennys has the full version 1.5 kit for $70. Not sure of stock level.

If you want to get a Lavatube, your best bet is to wait for stock , or get the version 2 tube and buy your batteries and charger separately. You can get a pair of good IMRs and a charger for about $30.

I took your advice Sailorman and bought those cartos with a ming vase drip tip. Thanks for everyones advice, it seems to be a big trial and error kind of thing.

Welcome & congrats....pretty great step you took. I agree w/trying some different vendors such as ECBlend E-Liquids - Something Better. They have a zillion different juices & they'll make it to your spec. - also very very reasonable prices. Anyways, good luck to you, I'm sure you'll do just fine.

I just went to the ECBlend website for the first time! I can't BELIEVE all of the flavors and the prices! I'm definitely going to give this place a try Some of those descriptions make my mouth water!

This was actually the first place I ordered from...popped up on my Google search and LOVED them!! I did try 5 or 6 other places just to compare, but they are still my favorite. I even used some of their juices to "fix" some bad tasting stuff I got elsewhere because I didn't want to waste money by throwing them away and it worked!
