Can someone tell me what is the difference between the 14500 and the LP mini?

This is the difference in the Mini 14500, Mini 2.1 and the Grand. The 14500 also has a smaller catch cup.

The Bike guy took this pic for me in another thread. They are much thinner front to back. The LP mini has the shorter catch cup. The old 14500 mini's had a slightly narrower diameter catch cup, and not all small atties will fit in there.

I always thought the original mini was a must have in everyone's REO arsenal. Great for stealth vaping, quick trips out, restaurants, business meetings. It has a true purpose being super small. The 18490 mini never excited me as it was just as thick as a grand but battery would not make it thru a whole day. If I needed to bring extra batteries I figured might as well stay super small. My OG mini has been going strong for 3 years in May as my daily driver until I got my first Grand last December. After many drops on the driveway, in the sand, on the rocks thru the years it's still going strong with updated contact & spring. Special as it was my first. :)

The catch cup on them is only 13.09mm (33/64") so there are very few attys that fit. I have the 3 standard profile RM2s, a Hornet, and a Phoenix V3 that fit.

A low profile 14500 Mini with the new contacts and 510 connector would be awesome. I would just have to decide on black wrinkle or TRA. I hate slick, slimy finishes like on my current silver anodized 14500. I also had a smooth powder coated door once and I hated it enough I striped it off after using it two days.

How does TRA compare to the anodized and smooth powder coated finishes? How about your views on some of the other textured finishes?

I'd asked Russ to cover this some time back in a video and he did a good job, but doesn't have all the different ones of course. I'd love to see a vid of all the various finishes,
how they look
how they feel
how they differ from one another
how durable are they
what types of maintenance are needed
Definite don'ts with a particular finish (saw something about acetone stripped some kind of finish)
how well wraps adhere or not
and anything anyone else can think of. lol

ETA: tried to find it, but puter is acting up and going super slow. If I find it later I'll link it
