New back up

Hi guys,

I wish to get a new back up, actually a new every day mod and keep my evic VTC mini as a back up. I am divided between a 75w presa and a smok Tree Box.
I have worked both with the Presa board evidently since it's the same as the evic and I have a Koopor plus, I understand the menu is similar to the Tree Box.

My dessition makers would be...

Which one has a better 510?

Which one is more reliable?

Which one will last longer?

Please help

Haven't had a chance to try the 75w Presa but if it was me, I'd be looking at it before the TB. My thoughts on my TB are not that positive. For one, it lacks any way to update the firmware and I consider that its biggest drawback. It has no user programmable TCR presets although TCR is adjustable for the 3 wire modes. But mine does not regulate temp well at all when using SS 316L wire. I mean not well at all- as in unusable. It's fine w/Ni200, haven't used Ti.

The thing eats batteries like a fiend! A fully charged Panasonic NCR18650PF 2900mAh batt lasts all of 12 minutes of actual vaping time. Same battery, same atty, same build lasts 23 minutes in my VTC Mini.

It lacks stealth mode, no onboard charging, no bypass mode, and the menu is not intuitive for me but that's more a personal preference thing I suppose. It also has a too-small screen display and all the buttons rattle. It does look good though- but unless you value form over function, it's too little/too late. All in all, I would buy another VTC Mini in a heartbeat before another TB.

FWIW I looked up the Presa and it looks pretty darned good. Good enough that I would take a chance on it, especially for $33.00 (GB flash sale, ends in about 24 hrs.). It has all the features I would want except resets and it may have that, too- I just didn't see mention of it in the brief search I did.

Is the 510 the reason for parking your VTC Mini?

ETA Looks like the Presa 75w has presets, if that's what "Customized TCR (Temperature Coefficient of Resistance) Mode" is. Maybe just one preset, but in any event I'd say it looks a heck of a lot better than the treestump.

Well I'm jumping to conclusions actually, if the 510 of the Cuboid is breaking and so is the one of the Reloux it's only time before the evic dies. Plus I want a better form factor. The Presa does have TCR when updated

My VTC Mini's 510 is shallow, but it has held up fine. All my attys sit flush by using a simple plastic shim under them. I made mine but they can also be bought from KP, possibly other places as well. That doesn't help the form factor though. Vape Forward has a couple mods I like- the Lite and Stout are both well received last I knew.

I've got all the mods mentioned and I'd go with the Presa.
It has the 3 preset wires, does TCR, and has a nice display.
Been reliable for a couple of months in rotation with 2 other mods.
I use about 15-20 ml a day, if that helps with how often it is vaped.
