Well that was the first of 5 posts.

I struggle with a bit of ocd and perfectionist attitude; Can't help it, or haven't tried to anyways. So i'm in the market for a PV but I'm having an awfully hard time deciding on what I want. I want the best from my hard earned-easily spent dollars. I was thinking about an ego twist for it's size and price point. But it's in no way as small as those basic ecigs, and for a little more (subjective) I can have a full blown mod that's not that much bigger (I'm bad at truly gauging size in my hand ). Should I get the ego 18650 mod with upgrade switch that way I will have batteries on hand already in case I decide to get a provari or something of that sort next month? Maybe a LT or Vmax and just live in the medium zone.

I was eyeing an Apollo vtube earlier and almost pulled the trigger, well I did but regular size was out of stock. And with the 30% off it's still pricey compared to alternatives.

I've been reading this forum every night after work for 3 days and I haven't concluded anything.. Someone tell me what to buy lol

I understand you need to get something that works well enough. But, I agree with Bullette, nothing is ever perfect.

Just remember, whatever you buy first can always end up being your back-up later if you find something better. Back-ups are a religion here. Must have back-ups!

As long as your initial set-up is good enough to do the job, it'll take the pressure off while you do more research and decide what you might want next for your main set-up.

A couple of Twists and an assortment of cartos and clearos to try out, plus an assortment of sample juices to try should do the job to start with.

Sounds reasonable and reassuring. Thank you for the early morning input. I think I'm going to get the kgo vv from hoosier that someone just posted up. I like that I can keep it plugged in and just vape all night long at work. Now to figure out what it uses. I've read so much about functionality that I barely know the basic connections and what fits on what.

Tanks - Mom and Pop Vapor Shop

Tanks, carto, and great juice here.

2-3 batteries, 2 chargers. Drip tips ( for cartos, and most things)

Syringe (blunt or pointed) to fill stuff- or plastic needle cap for juice bottle.

Bunch of different juices ( up to 30ml. a week) 18mg to 24mg. nicotine strength.

Bunch of different cartos, attys, clearos.

Madvapes.com is also a great place to get many things.

    Welcome, and Happy vaping!!

Good advice was: What you buy now (if a big monstrosody), can be a good backup.

I'm like you,...I'll research for days untill I find the perfect.
(( I personally have the VOLT from Smokeless Image))...The CE3 tanks their are a must by the way,...and some juice))
Like you?...I eventually went with their X-2 (bigger batts), CE3 delivery system, 2 X-2 batts, and 2 Mini batts,...they are the only automatic batts I own for the "real feel" of a cigg. Right now I have 2 X-2s / 20 CE3s / Chargers: car charger and the bigger charger, and the one they give you in the (($45 starter kit)) / Colored Caps / Cases / Juice.juice,juice,...now I'm strting to make my own from 48mg juice...100mg juice...Propelene Glycol liquid...Vegetable Glycerin liquid....Graduated Cylinders...Throat Hit Enhancer liquid,.....AND I'VE ONLY BEEN DOING THI$ FOR A MONTH NOW!....WOW....(note the "s" on this yonder!)....A vapor told me I might be wasting alot of money instead of going for the best,...first!
Anyway, I do like the VOLT. (for starters)...It is 3.7 v regulated (have to argue that as I believe I sense a voltage drop off,...but,...they do the best they can) It is very much like the real thing...(the smaller 65mm Mini battery "in auto) They really seem to pack a punch in such a small battery, but you'll be charging them often (Don't listen to the 3-4 hrs Bull Crap!)...get 3 batterys (at least 2) and an extra charger & USB Adapter...((at least one extra USB Adapter anyhow, if nothing else) BASICALLY: The Mini Batts have to screw into a USB "thingy" that plugs into the wall adapter, or your computer USB PORT...It is just a way to get the 5 volts (every USB PORT puts out 5 volts "universally") down to a low amp charge of .5 amps.....(Every Mini Batt needs one for charging) (note: VOLT $45 Kit - They give you a plug in *wall charger and *1 USB Adapter so your screwed if you want to charge 2 batts at the same time.....(( Get the extra USB Adapter so you can plug the other batt into your computer port)),...While your using your 3rd batt...($13 ea)
If I know you:....You'll be into this thing big so....expect it!...or go easy on the VOLT stuff......It is still an awsome realistic replacement!...I still am using them today!------Probably going to advance to "variable voltage" (do it big with the Lava Tube)...Make "wrap myown coils" make my own low resistance atomizers...triple coils...Experiment with Candle Wick...(the CE3s Wicks as far as I've disected ans analized are made of burn proof *Fibered Porcelan,...but I bet candle wick would wick way better,...cautionary to burning the cotton)
SI (smokeless Image) Also has absolutely the best "filler type" CARTOMIZERS...(This is the most realistic, lightweight, fiber filled Atomizer & Cartrige..."called a cartomizer" for this reason)...They are a *Bottom Fed *Horizontal Coil with a fire proof *Silicone air tube and some *Filler material to suspend the juice........I still use them today for the ultimate "real feel!"
Anyway (so much for the "Quick Reply"...lol).........Maybe this would help:
MY RECCOMENDATIONS: " *** " Below (and keeping the minimum $)
*** VOLT $45 Starter Kit - (choose the auto battery for your 65mm)(choose a manual "push button" 78mm for your other - $1 more)
    *** 1 extra USB Adapter - $8 (optional)
    *** Juice - $14 (a NESESSITY!)
*** CE3 (cartomizer tanks - optional)- They work with the batts
You can re-fill your cartomizers they give you (5 of them) if you get the juice...
....The other dilema...the juice flavor.....MY SUGGESTION There:
*** Dessert Joe - 24mg (if you are a non menthol smoker)
    *** ? FREEDOM - 24mg (if you don't mind a tad of menthol,...it haqs a bigger Throat Hit)
Maybe get a ***Sampler of the tobacco flavors so you'll know what flavor juice to order next

So,... Sorry OhLeever to get long winded...That's what I did (and still using today)
SI ships fast,...so you won't be waiting,........I'd go for it!.....DO IT NOW!.,..Trust me!
Keep in mind the VOLT Set up is 808 thread,...kind of uncommon as opposed to the 510 thread, but, there's always adapters for that too!...You'll be buying some bigger equiptment eventually (SO LISTEN TO THE OTHERS ADVICE TOO and go a little small $ on this for now)...I'm getting into my own juice making...and still using the VOLT
    ANYWAY:....Smoke free a long time!....FEEL AWSOME.................YOU WILL TOO!
    Have fun,...(don't over .... ize!...lol)(I don't).............

Hi and welcome to ECF. Many people have many opinions about first e cigs and or mods. If you are just starting out I would recommend something like the kgo or the kgo vv. I have not tried the kgo vv personally only the kgo and I find it would be great for just starting out. The battery life is great. I hope what ever your purchase it will be great and again welcome to ECF. :vapor:

The old-fashioned basic 808 is about like number 2 in that picture. Here's a pic of the different sized 808 batteries that SI sells compared to a regular cigarette (not a 100):

I agree that you will use all of what you purchase at one time or another. Have you looked in your area for a store to walk into and see stuff in person? A lot of people will have different opinions, but you can still look around and taste some juice.

Many will tell you to start with the ego, and many will say the Provari. It is kinda like a baby both crawls and walks, some (only a few) walk before they crawl...but they all do both.

took a bit for me to figure out how to use multi-quote..

Hey Oh.Leever - my advice is just to go ahead and ORDER - the anticipation for my first delivery is killing me! In the meantime I'm working up on what to order next.

I took that advice and pulled the trigger yesterday, it's nearing 24 hours and no email saying its shipped yet.. oh well i'm too busy looking at what to buy next :toast:

i agree with all of the above answers, just get something to put away ur lighter for now, enjoy it then get the big guns, just don't smoke vaping is so much more exciting:vapor: happy vaping!!!!!!

hopefully i give up smoking. i'm addicted to the habit more than the crave for nic i think. i used to smoke 2 packs a day but when they didn't allow me to smoke at work anymore i went 8-12 hour shifts without smoking and didn't care.. now a days i almost make myself smoke since it's a large part of my social surrounding (don't ask lol)

that picture was just what i needed too. the lavatubes aren't as big as i thought they were! guess i can't judge objects in other people's hands either lol.

thank you for the kind welcome :) ecf is a lot more welcoming than certain car forums i used to frequent.

i like how that was rationalized. doesn't help me though hahaha.. my friend was talking to me about buying a liter bike or a 600cc since i said i originally wanted a 1000cc but people and the course i took suggested 600cc and he said he went through the same thing but ended up getting a 1000cc and recommends i do it too... some kind of logic about would i want a civic or a ferrari for my first car.. i really didn't get it though.. i get what you're saying though :thumb:
