New bottom feeder or 3D atty - I'm in a bit of a fix

So, I was literally minutes away from ordering a Del Sole Sunbox E7 - I contacted the manufacturer, ensuring that the product was exactly what I wanted to replace my current BF that's on its last leg - and then I discovered the 3D dripping atomizer. And now I don't know what to do.

On the one hand, there's this nice 260 euro E7 bottom feeder. Apparently it's next to unbreakable, it's well made, and I like bottom feeders.

On the other hand, there's the 3D atty - or rather, a clone. It's 30-some euros, and it provides exactly what a BF provides, that is:

- The enhanced flavor of a dripping atty
- Control of the amount of juice fed to the atty
- Ability to either use the tank, or drip - meaning one "default" flavor in the tank, and many extra flavors to choose from in straight dripping mode.

Suddenly, I realize that the 3D atty - provided it delivers on its promise - deprecates ALL bottom feeders, and for pennies on the dollar too. Plain and simple.

What would you do? Order the known, safe BF, or switch to the untested 3D atty?

Im not sure how ANY atty would mitigate the bottom feeder?

How is a 1.2 ml reservoir going to keep anyone from screwing with refilling it several times a day? The 3d sounds like just what the vaping world needs - another gimmick that requires a user to fill it a lot and / or drip into it.

Most people use quality BF mods cause they don't like screwing around with filling stuff up allot or dripping.

We like the convenience of leaving home (or staying home) with a mod that provides fresh squozen juice on demand and not having to pack supplies / juice / mess cleanup supplies :)

I can only imagine that "pumping" that atty, what, dozens of times a day and refilling it what, 2-3 times a day would be really good for the 510 connector too?

I believe bottom fed mods and RBA's are at the top of the food chain - many levels up from gimmicky, fiddle happy RBAs like that 3d deal :)

Not sure that sunbox is that safe a bet either - do you know anyone with one? It seems like a boutique device with very few users.

May be time to go back to the think tank bro :)

For me, the whole idea of a squonker (or my own homebrew top-feeding system) is to be able to drip when I can't drip - typically when I drive. That's all. The rest of the time, I drip.

There is nothing special about squonkers or top-feeders or the 3D atomizer thing: I view it as a backup juice delivery system. So I certainly am not going to refill it several times a day.

However, after doing some research on the 3D atty, I think I've answered my own question. It doesn't look so great after all.

There is in fact almost no juice flow control: the system brings up all the liquid in the tank to the bottom of the wick (or dips the wick into the content of the tank, depending on how you see things) and it doesn't suck a lot of juice back into the tank. So the bottom of the wick esentially lies in a pool of juice at the bottom of the deck.

That's not really my idea of dripping: it looks more like a genesis with a staging tank, or something like that.

It also means tilting the mod will leak juice all over the place. And surely the vent holes won't stay in front of the coils for very long, since the entire top cap is liable to turn every time you press on it.

I don't know whose "dream dripper" it is, but it's not mine. So, back to the bottom feeder plan I guess.

the 3D is $15 from FT. i wouldnt spend any more on it than that. while i like it, i dont really use it all that much any more. the flavor is great and the pump action works, but at the end of the day a bottom feeder beats it IMO, if not for any other reason than any bottom feeder will hold at least twice as much juice before refilling.

The 3d sounded great, but like superdrifter stated, it's a gimmick. It's a pain in the ... to deal with.. you can't compare it to a real bottom feeder.. and the "squonking" of the 3d works.. but you deal with too much bs for basically 1mL of liquid storage. Magma and origen both can hold 1mL+, if you just get a dripper.

I've never heard of sunbox either.
