New, but not really new, but still clueless

I've been vaping for 6 months on some crappy ego batteries, and finally am looking at upgrading. I-m looking at the Itaste MVP 2 as I have heard its a great stepping stone to someone thats still pretty clueless.

I kind of understand how watts/volts/etc work, but really my question is - Am I going to get better flavor production, or is that solely dependent on the juice?

The MVP is a great choice.

The biggest factor in flavor production is having the right head. IMHO this is a much bigger factor than even the liquids.

The Aspire Nautilus (particularly with the new BVC heads), Kanger Aerotank, or a carto tank all get very good reviews. At the moment I'm on a re-coiled mini-aerotank clone.

The iClear30 that will come with your MVP is not a particularly good head, though.

Welcome to ECF, by the way!

Yes and no If you have good juice it will allow you to find your sweet spot. twgbonehead is right the tank is what will take it to the next level. You will be very happy with the mvp2 and either tank described above.

Welcome aboard to the ECF community, JackRabbitStorm.

Better flavor production, as per my experience, is based on 3 factors.

1. Obviously a good e-juice is required.

2. The atomizer, as some atomizers produce better flavor than others.

2a. If a rebuildable atomizer, the quality and style of the of the coil assembly build plays a big role, as well.

Definitely the topper! Being primarily a cartotank user (IBTankeds) for months they give VERY good flavor! I bought an Aspire Nautilus with the BVC heads and also a Kanger Aerotank Mega a couple of weeks ago on a whim just to see how well they preform. All I can say is that I was pleasantly surprised by how well they produced big flavor! In no way am I a cloud chaser, and I don't want to be, but they also produced pretty good clouds for a tank as well.

Will I switch? No, I'll stick to my carto tanks but in the event of a Vapeocolypse they'll get some use once my stash or carts runs out.

Oh wow, tons of advice! Thanks guys.

I typically have decent juice (been stalking the juice threads on here for a few months) but use a generic GS-H5 tank for the most part. I have a Protank II, but didn't really like it at all, but maybe the coils that came with it were just kind of meh. I'll pick up some new coils for that as well.

Also, you guys (or gals) are a heck of a lot friendlier than other message boards I'be been on

I just scanned through the previous posts... Since I dropped and broke my VTR I moved back to my mvp as a carry and Cloupor for my RDAs. MVP's a work horse. I have a couple protank 2s. My biggest problem with them was if you use a acidic or very sugary juice you can not let it sit in it. It gunks up the atty. So you have to empty the tank and clean/replace the atty. If you switch off tanks as often as I do than you might have a problem. I just leave mine empty normally now unless I know I am going to burn through the juice until the atty dies.

I really like the GS-H2 and -H5 tanks! The all-plastic construction seems to keep the vape warmer, and I don't get the metallic taste I seem to get from a lot of other heads. (Even on my mini-aero I have to replace the drip tip with a plastic one! - I just don't like the feel/taste of a stainless tip).

The GS-Hx tanks are a little light on vapor, but pretty good on flavor IMHO.

In re: Sub4mes comment - I liked my Ego's and they are 1100MaH and did their purpose, but they are falling apart, and will need to be replaced soon. I figure I mine as well take this time to upgrade to something a bit more durable

I've also looked at a few other devices however I just don't have a need other then what I'm using. The eGo's work good for me so I'm in no hurry to spend more. The GS H2 tanks also work great. I haven't tried the H5 yet but I think the only difference is they are bigger.

I started with the H2's, but I had problems with them separating where the plastic met the trim piece and spilling the juice all over my pocket. I have yet to have an H5 break on me.

So, I picked up an MVP 2 last night at a B&M, and the Iclear30 tank that came with it is working great, but I can't seem to figure out a good voltage/wattage to keep it at for my H5 tanks. I know it has a learning curve, just frustrating that all the taste I'm getting is burnt - even on lowest settings.
