I just made version 4.0.1.5 available with several updates but one more substantial update. The updates include:
  1. When using the "Flavor %" button the recipe was being changed to 100% VG. Fixed.
  2. During the Find/Replace function the ingredient being replaced was always being deleted regardless of the value of the checkbox to "Delete find ingredient after replacing".
  3. When the main recipe window is resized (made wider) the ingredient name dropdown box will be made wider giving you the opportunity to display long ingredient names.
  4. Added a new menuitem "Edit -> Ingredient Editor" that will list all of your ingredients in a grid and allow the ingredients to be edited.
Ingredient Editor - Consider this new item a "Beta Item". I have performed a lot of testing however I need you to test and provide input. Only the more experienced users should use this feature. Here is what you can do:
  1. Drag column titles and reorder the order that the columns are display in. The program will remember your column orders and reestablish them the next time you launch the program.
  2. Click column titles to sort the ingredients by the values in that column. The program will remember your sort order and reestablish the sort the next time you launch the program.
  3. Insert new flavor ingredients (currently you can only insert flavor ingredients). To insert new ingredients, enter data into the last blank line of the grid.
  4. Currently you cannot delete any of your ingredients.
  5. Copy/Paste to Excel, make changes, copy/paste from Excel to apply updates.
  • Highlight cells, right click and select "Copy" and then paste into Excel (or another application).
  • Highlight the updated cells in Excel and copy. And then select a cell in the grid, right click and select Paste to copy the updated values back.
NOTE: Make sure the cell(s) you are copying match. For instance if the first cell in Excel that you copy is a "drops/ml" cell, make sure the cell that you select in the grid when pasting back is a "drops/ml" cell.
While cells are being pasted, they are checked to make sure that the values are valid values for the cell type. The paste operation will abort if an invalid value is pasted into a cell.
When errors are detected, an error indicator will be displayed in the row with an error message stating what the error is.

Is there a DIY program for MAC? Right now I'm using a website e-liquid calculator and just save all my recipes on a excel.

There are people that run the application on a MAC using some Windows emulation software. I am not familiar with macs and forget what it is called but it is referenced earlier in this thread.

If I may ask, what is the amount of nicotine in the base, VG/PG ratio of it, and target nic and VG/PG ratio?

I resolved this problem and it had nothing at all to do with JuiceCalculator... It seems that a couple of my flavors ended up with a Nic% in the ingredient list... all fixed up..

I downloaded the zip file on my mac. Then unzipped it, and hit the diy icon and it opened and worked fine. I used Microsoft Excel. On OS X version 10.6.8. Good luck.

I can't test this right now as I am getting ready to go to work. I believe it may have to do with my MacBook Pro. Windows 7 may be looking at the period key as a period and not a decimal. I also have an iMac running Windows 7 and will test that this evening with the num lock on. This may be a hardware issue and not software.

I just switched to this from ejuicemeup, and WOW, what a difference. I love everything about your program except for one little issue.

Whenever I open the app, all the values for the recipe are in the right places. As soon as I click to a new recipe, the 'drops' and 'total %' column values shift over a whole space, bunching the drops against my 'ml' value and cutting them off, and putting the 'total %' value under the drops. This could easily screw up some recipes if I'm not paying close attention, where I'm supposed to add only 3 drops of a flavor, but after the shift, it shows '18' in the exact spot under the 'drops' column.
Edit: I should mention is issue only occurs for the flavorings. The pg, vg, and nic values all stay where they are.

Any idea's for a possible fix? Resizing or minimizing don't work. Only solution I've found is to open the recipe I want to mix, close the program, then re-open it. It then displays the new recipe with all values in the correct place.

Thanks!

I wasn't aware this was happening but will investigate this evening.

Hi. Just downloaded this and like its potential. However, I was trying to mass edit costs on ingredients and wound up with a strange error that I can't get out of. Entered cost and ml units for one item and tried to c/p to all similar items. None of the pasting worked and a new line was created with an error. I cannot close the edit window. Any ideas?

Was the editor showing you an error message in one of the rows that you pasted to? It should put a red explanation mark indicator on the row and when you place your mouse over the explanation mark you will see the error message.

This is how the paste operation works:
Lets say that you highlight 2 columns for 10 rows in Excel and copy. You then click a cell in the editor where you want the paste operation to begin and select paste. It will update 2 columns for 10 rows. If there isn't 10 existing rows, the paste will attempt to begin creating new rows of ingredients. If the new ingredient doesn't have all of the required fields or has illegal values in any of the columns the paste will stop and generate an error. Once an error is generated you must either correct the error or usually you can hit the escape key to abort the change.
Also, the columns that you copied in Excel must be columns that are next to each other. There is no way for the paste operation to know that you selected column 1 and 3 (example), it only knows that you copied 2 columns and therefore it assumes that the columns are next to each other.

In your description you were copying 2 columns and if the paste attempted to start a new ingredient row it would have generated an error because the two columns you were copying did not include all of the required values for a new ingredient.

There was no mouseover message. I also could not close the window without the error popup and had to kill the process in task manager.

The copy attempt was for two adjacent cells (price and ml) and then I tried to paste it into the ingredients below. Is the editor a direct database editor?

No, it is not a direct database editor. After you make changes and close the window you must do a save from the main recipe window.

I have been unable to duplicate the problem you described. If you are able to reproduce please provide all of the steps.

Steps and screenshots; I'm probably doing something wrong. Win7 x64.

1. Open program. Image for version number (this was just before your last update)

2. Import eJuiceMeUp directory

3. Open Ingredient Editor

4. Edit in the price and mls for a TFA sample from Wizard Labs and copy the values.

5. Attempt a 2-column block paste and end in a nonrecoverable error.

6. Repeat steps 1-4.

7. Attempt a one-column paste.

This last time I did hover the mouse over the errors a bit longer and they did pop up. The relevant error follows. It looks like I can't paste the total cost value at all, and a new line is created with odd values at the end.

The error placements are suspicious; this might have to do with that column shifting bug reported before. I'll try the new version and see if that works.
