largest user of soft, I like to know if it is possible to translate it into French?
This change is probably above my head. I have been making changes to support the display of international date formats and money specifications but I wouldn't know where or how to begin with a translation to French and testing any change would be way out of my reach since I can't speak the language.

Great tool! But I seem to have found a small glitch...

If you enter an amount for PG or VG in ounces, it seems to throw off the cost per bottle by a huge amount! Basically I entered 16 oz of VG for $10.00 and 16 oz of PG for $3.50. Recipe was for 20 ml of juice at 40/60 PG/VG. The other ingediant a were entered as ml, and we're about $3.25 for 60 ml and recipe used 4 flavored plus 3mg nic target. Manual calc figured about 93 cents a bottle but the calculator showed $8.50!!!

Changing the ingediants PG and VG amount to be ml instead of oz gave the much lower cost per bottle I expected.

But I am new to DIY stuff, and my senior moments sometimes conflict with understanding new things. Regardless, I still have made good use of this calculator to make my first batch of juice!

Thanks!
I have a change ready for the next version that will fix this issue. Thanks for reporting it.

In the ingredient editor Is there a reason we have to enter a % to the value when editing "Default %", "PG %" and "VG %" fields? Seems like tabbing or clicking off the field should default to % instead of stopping with red error.

The currency-denominated fields know to add $ symbols when tabbing off them.

BTW, it's running beautifully under WINE 1.9.4.
Here is what is going on; When the % character is provided it indicates that the value entered should be divided by 100 to convert it to a percentage. For instance 7% is determined to be 0.07. if you enter a value of 0.07 it will be converted to 7% and no error will occur. If you enter a value of 7 the value is determined to be 700% which is an invalid value.
I could change this and assume that there is always an implied % entered. Thoughts/recommendations?

Warning when making Flavor Base:

When I make a flavor base recipe from a recipe who's ingredients include cost for each ingredient, I get a warning that "Cost/ml was not provided for all ingredients". I don't understand how this could be possible considering all ingredients do in fact include cost/ml info?

When perform the calculations manually, my cost is almost exactly the same so it seems Juice Calc is calculating all ingredients correctly.
Could you send me a copy of your juice file (xml file) and tell me what recipe(s) this is occurring with so that I can investigate? You can email or PM a copy of the file.

Is it saying the search results are 20% of the total set of recipes?
The search looks at all of the flavor ingredients in your recipes ignoring PG, VG and nicotine. If you are searching for "Ingredient1" and it finds a recipe that contains "Ingredient1" and it is the only ingredient it will tell you 100% since it is the only ingredient in the recipe. if there were 3 ingredients in the recipe and it only found one of the ingredients you were searching for it will tell you 33.33% indicating that 1/3 of the ingredients being searched were found in the recipe listed.

The intent behind the search was to find all of the recipes that you could make using the selected ingredients that you are searching for.

Hi Diyguy,
The Search Recipes window is telling you that your search fo FA Cookie is one of five flavors the Deek's Berry Custard calls for (1/5 or 20% of number of ingredients). It does not count PG/VG/Nic. A recipe calling for two flavors would show as 50%, 10 flavors would be 10% and so on. It is not a reference to the amount of searched flavor used in the recipe.
Hope that helps :D
I just noticed your reply and you are right-on...Sorry for duplicating your response.

Just a suggestion on the drop-down for "Filter recipes by..."

This dropdown occupies one line of space on the interface, but it HIDES only ONE LINE of content (one button and a checkbox on one line). Seems there's no benefit.
Visual design is not my forte, I couldn't find anywhere else to place the filtering criteria. I also had fear that placing the filters in a menu item and not keeping them visible on the window would trigger issues with users trying to figure out why recipes were not being displayed after setting up a filter.

HotRod, I hate to ask for yet one more feature in an already feature rich program but, I feature that I would like to see is a recipe history button that when selected pulls up the dates, mg, and, amount made for a recipe.

Again Thanks for the best recipe calculator program available!
The biggest obstacle with this type of feature is knowing when to add an item to the history. As you are probably aware I automatically calculate a recipe whenever you make a change to any value on the window rather than have you click a "calculate" button. This makes it difficult to know when you are done changing a recipe to create a history entry. Currently the only triggering mechanism that I see is to create a history entry when you print a recipe.

How about triggering it when the inventory is decreased or a new date is entered in the last made box?

I second this idea. I actually think the date and history could both be updated when the inventory is decreased.

Yes, this is an excellent idea, even if the history idea is not implemented, having the date made auto-updated when the inventory is decreased would be great. Perhaps a check box for this in the decrease inventory dialog to make it optional?

I believe the auto update was included in printing previously making print to pdf a viable option for now for all of the above. (Printing to pdf proves to be a much better option imo) But for quick reference I believe that works too by adding a dialog/check box as mentioned to update after deducting inventory.

The error message that you are getting is coming from the Windows installer. This error usually starts occurring when you have a failed installation of another application. After the failure you will receive the error for any program that you attempt to install using the Windows installer. Here are a couple of links that might help resolve the error:

Error 1500 "Another Installation is in Progress you must complete the installation before continuing this one" when trying to down load a program always appears. Cannot complete the download

Assorted Topics: Fix for Windows Error 1500: Another installation is in progress. You must complete that installation before continuing this one.

Thanks Hotrod. It took some reading, messing around, and restarts but I finally got it, including the latest update.

No worries HotRod. Actually, if I am remembering correctly, I think I was still two-finger typing out my reply when you replied and I didn't notice until I posted mine. I was just too lazy to delete mine.
Thanks for your continued labor of love! It ROCKS!! :headbang: :toast:

Just noticed tonight while looking at my inventory that many of the alarm values are the same as my current inventory values. If the threshold value is blank the alarm value is what is in the current inventory, if the threshold has a value the alarm value is what is in the inventory minus the threshold value.

Version 7.0.0.3 is available, changes include:

1. When an inventory volume of other than MLs was selected I was calculating the cost/ml incorrectly. Fixed.

2. Changed the minimum size of the main window to a smaller value to allow the window to be made smaller on lower resolution displays.

3. A warning message was being generated for recipes when the amount of any ingredient being added to a recipe was 0ml. I was interpreting this as an invalid cost/ml value. Fixed.

I am still investigating new features related to tracking the history of a recipe.

Can you PM or email me some more details. I have been testing the threshold values and I don't see what you are referring to.
