looks great. But I think you need to build it lower though to get the most out of it. I would use a thicker wire. Maybe 3 24-gauge coils at 5-wraps. This is how my onslaught is currently built. More coils need more power from the mech, so it will vape better at lower ohms than you are used to using for a dual coil build. That will get hot though if you don't have good airflow in front and underneath the coils. Possibly use less cotton.
Agreed. Btw I had to join up and post x5 for this, but glad I stumbled upon this thread.

Been looking for good advice on the builds on the V3 but this build works well for me right now, using 7 wraps, 2mm dia of 26g - 1.8 ohm. Drinks less, nice airflow, but you need to go lower as three coils require more amps. 30 will fire them quicker.

I'm not sure if I fully understand your concern, are saying your Chi You has a 22MM top cap, or you're concerned that the Stillare V3 has a 22mm top cap?

Please keep in mind from my picture, the Cartel Mod is a 23mm Mod which tappers to 22mil at the top cap. The Cartel Mod's body, or 18650 tube is a bit odd for a mod... my Skeleton Key and my Stillare V3 look so sexy... they are like a match made in heaven in terms of looks, they were made for each other. I just prefer the Cartel Mod's conductivity and lower voltage drop.

So if your concerns are about looks... I think the SK and the V3 say it all... I will say this after owning mine for like 5-6 months and doing close to 100 builds on it... I do not prefer doing vertical coils in my V3. That's probably because getting the wicks through is a bit of a pain...and I'm lazy. The more pictures people post on here of the stillare V3 plus coil setups + wick setups, the better... we can all learn from one another.

Some people swear by them because of the wicking, and the wicking is notability more "economical" I don't seem to burn as much juice using vertical coils, I have to drip more when using normal micro coils running parallel (three coils using a 1.8mm drill bit)

I stand by Koh Gen Do - Organic Cotton....I will use nothing else but that. My recommendation - get some VTC4's and VTC5 Sony green batteries while you still can! expect to pay $30.00 - $40.00 per battery! Pick some of those up, use 26g G-Plat wire around a 1.6mm - 2.0mm drill bit (6-7 wraps whatever you prefer, I like 7.)

Blue 26g G-Plat - http://www.vaporkings.com/GPlat-coil-wire-by-Vapinology-p/gplat-wires.htm

*If you haven't used G-PLat yet, do yourself a solid and buy a pack, yes it's pricey compared to normal Kanthal, but it burns at higher temps, lasts longer, and is soft as a baby's fill in the blank. The softness of the Gplat and the fact it hits so much nicer is why I buy it...wrapping micros all damn week, 3 coils at a time can be a pain, but with gplat it's like butter.

And maybe like 1000 bottles of OMG's "..." juice in 6mg, because it's like unicorn tears and dragon kisses. So damn good.
OMG E-Liquid ... Strawberry Sour Belt

After all that, you're vaping my daily setup... I fly through a bottle per day of OMG's W.T.F (ECF filters the name of their juice W.T.F), and 5 employees at my company all jumped on the Cartel + StillareV3 train with OMG-... juice... I got sick of having them walk in my office and taking pulls off my vape all damn day.

Well I finally got it through the post just now. Looks soooo sexy! Im serioulsy impressed by this dripper. Haven't done a build yet but will sit down soon and do one.

Regarding my question about the top cap I don't think i explaned myself properly. what I meant was that the chi you megan comes with a flat 22mm top cap and a slanted one. The slanted one has a lip on the inside. I originally wanted to run the stillare with the slanted one and wanted to know if the writting on the stillare would be covered by the lip on the slanted megan top cap. It wasn't a big issue but I went and purchased it anyway and when I put it on the writting was indeed covered (see pic below)

HOWEVER- after seeing it on the flat top (pic attached bellow) I think it looks a lot better. It's not all about looks though so will be doing a build soon and see how i get on. Im only going to be doing dual coils to start but will post pics as soon as I can.

Regarding japanese cotton I got very lucky and got some off ebay. 80 pads for just under £15. I must say the taste is very good and (slighly) better than the cellucotton i was using before. It's also a lot more easy to use imo as I just need to split them in half, cut and roll rather then teasing a coil out from a ball.

Right! Im off to do a build. Will post results soon ;)

I've tried 20 guage haywire gplat, also 24g gplat, running it all the way down to .185ohm with triple coils.

LIke I said, probably at this point, well over 100+ builds on the V3, the build for my own personal taste that doesn't just drain a battery in 20 pulls like the 24/20 gauge does, is the 6-7 wraps with 26g gplat.

with 5 wraps of 24 gauge gplat, you have to redrip every 3 pulls, you fly through a 10ml bottle in a half a work shift lol. You're right though Dave, 5 wraps with 24g does give a phenomenal vape, and you nailed it on the head with airflow - when working with triple coils and 24g, airflow underneath (not just above) the coils is vital. If you chain vape on a triple coil w/ 24g wire, that SS top cap will melt your skin itll get so hot.

Interesting DA the onslaught RDA... for those who are curious:

It looks like the airflow on the V3 is a tad bigger.. who knows, you'd need both side by side to compare. Looks nice though, thinking about buying one right this moment!! :toast:

Well I may need some advice...

My first build was terrible. Tbf I did rush it but I just didn't like the taste or the amount (lack ) of smoke. I'm used to building on my kayfuns and big Buddha's. I did a dual coil 1ohm build. I normally don't dip lower.

What lengths and widths do you normally do the cotton wicks? Also any more build pics would be greatly appreciated.

Like I said I wasn't a fan of the taste. I did give it a wash before settling up but got a very sharp metallic taste on the build. Maybe I hadn't cleaned it properly so I took the build apart and gave it a good scrub with soap and water. Will do another build when home from work.

Let me take some pictures today and put together a good post for you, it took me like 10 builds to get it right, I also had to buy some new tools to wrap my micro coils around... i was using a drill bit, but a drill bit isn't optimal. Now I use:

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Stanley-Precision-Screwdriver-Set-6-Piece-66-052/203713248

I bounce between the 2.0mm / 1.6mm / and the 2.6mm screw drivers. wrapping my Gplat around these have drastically improved the tightness of my coils.

Thanks for the help chaps but after a few weeks of different builds ive decided the stillare isn't for me. I build a max of 2 coils and prefer a tighter draw than the stillare can give. I still consider it the best looking dripper out there but it doesn't 'fit' with how I like to vape. I was concidering the hobo and Vulcan and finally went for the Vulcan. Nice dripper i must say. As a result im selling my stillare if anyone's interested.
