Hey guys! I've started out on a very basic setup of a kit with a battery and clearomizer and I'm looking at moving up to something bigger. I've had my eyes on the Vamo APV mod, but I have no idea what I would have to buy along with it. I looked at a Kanger Protank as well and I'm just confused with all the terminology and such. What would I need to buy in addition to the Vamo APV, batteries, and Protank?

I started with a Lavatube and a Kanger Protank. Love the setup so much I bought 2 more Protanks so I can have multiple juices in 2 while one is drying out from cleaning. I recently bought a Halo Triton and a mini Protank. Surprisingly the Triton produces more of a vape cloud, but I'm only vaping to avoid analogs. The vape cloud doesn't matter that much to me - but to some it does. The batteries I use in my Lavatube are IMR 18650, 3.7V, 2000mAh. I own two so I don't have to worry about not having a spare. The batteries and Lavatube I purchased from volcanoecigs.com. The protanks I purchased from a B&M here in Denver, but they have a website you can order from as well Vaporleaf - Denver, CO - Provider of Electronic Cigarettes, E Liquids and Accessories..

Your set-up sounds good-one I think you'll truly like. I've found my preferred set-up (an SVD and protank) is great for home, but a bit too big for out and about. I keep a couple of VV batteries with evod tanks for the time I am away from home and want a smaller set-up. I would suggest getting some coil heads for the Protank-they are easy to clean, but eventually need replaced. Discount Vapors sells 5 packs for a low price. Happy Vaping!

If your first kit was "cig-alike" (about the same size as a cig), I'd suggest you move up to an Ego Twist or Vision Spinner.

Then, while you are enjoying the benefits of a larger battery and learn a bit about what it is like to be able to change the heat volume, you can look at the multitude of "mods" available.

Vamo is the size of a billy club -- OK, I'm exagerating. But it is very large and very heavy. Some love those features and you sound like that's the way you'd like to go.

There are several devices that one could choose that aren't quite to big or quite so heavy at similar prices, and often less than $20 more.

It might be a good time to do some study. Check out the ECF Library. Many topics are covered there and it is wise to learn about battery safety, which batteries you will need and which chargers have the best reviews....and that doesn't cost anything.

Basically, you need a power source and an atomizer. The protank would be the atomizer, so all you need to worry about is the power source. I am using a Vision variable volt mod I bought from madvapes, and it is pretty nice. It looks strangely similar to the Vamo you are talking about. Just make sure you read the product description and get the correct batteries for it. An appropriate battery charger comes in handy as well.

So, protank + Vamo + appropriate battery + battery charger = in business.
