Haven't seen any videos about this atomizer other than the one posted by chopper himself, who happens to be selling the atty. absolutely love this atomizer. for 20-30 bucks, the choices are rsst, agat2 and agi i believe. i think this x-atty (z-atty clone) should definitely considered by anyone on a budget looking for a great vape, a beginner new to genesis attys, or just anyone wanting to expand their collection.

pdib, you may very well be right, there was definitely a great deal of thought in the ZAP which is why it is so pricey. so i will have to correct that statement "you will get the same vape as you would from a z-atty" that i made in the video. sure the ZAP is better for the couple reasons u mentioned, i guess i got carried away :D
but the point of the video i guess was to say i prefer it over the other budget gennys that everyone knows about, the rsst and agat2. not really better than the rsst strictly on performance, it is at least just as good IMO, and i find it looks better

I thought the whole thing about Zen's design (other than quality) was the thought going into the air flow: the mushroom-top center post, and the shape of the chamber. Not seeing that here.

And that's what a lot of people (including me) don't quite understand. The airflow is more than the size of your air hole. It also has to do with the size and shape of the cap. Like i said, as much as i know about airflow, building, sub ohm, micro, etc.. I'm still not sure about the cap..
Pdib i have read a lot of your posts, and you too are knowledgeable about these things, so if you could maybe further explain the cap size / chamber size to me i would supremely appreciate it.

the bigger the air chamber is, the cooler your coil can get. i did a video talking about a did clone with a 3/32 in air hole and how it compares to an rsst or an agat2 with a 5/64 air hole. essentially i could only crank the did clone to the same wattage i was running the other two at when i opened up that air hole. this is because the air chamber of the did clone is way way smaller than that of the rsst and agat2. dunno if that helps, sure pdib will offer a more technically sound explanation, but that's what i've concluded from my experimenting with my gennys' top caps and air holes on different-sized air chambers. also the resistance of the draw was similar between the did clone and rsst and agat2 once i did that, even though the air hole was significantly bigger on the did clone.

i apologize dhughey if i made it seem like this was just as good as the Z-atty. i'm sure you will let us know when you compare it with your z-atty when you get it.
i put the following disclaimer in the video description and the comments.

"**I have not tried a Z-atty, so I must state that the claim "you will get the same vape" was unjustified. this is just a product which i suggested was modeled after the Z-atty (IMO by just looking at the two).**
i can say that it is comparable to the rsst and agat2, as i have those products and use them regularly."

Oh, I'm no expert on Zen's design. I've just read and heard numerous times that he put a lot of time into designing the chamber size and shape in conjunction with that mushroom cap positive contact screw so that it would force the steam to circulate around the chamber before being drawn up into the drip tip. I guess that screw is actually pretty close to the opening of the drip tip, and, being dome shaped, it creates this circular angled gap. blah-blah-blah.

I just watched the video before, and noticed that the outside may look like z-atty, but none of that stuff looks similar. I haven't been vaping Genisis style for some time. But I do still use the AGA-T2 as a dripper, and I do appreciate the development of flavor in that space. So, as far as I'm concerned, good-as or better-than AGA is plenty good stuff, right there.

Don't apologize, because i own an ac9 and an rsst and they are damn near exactly the same. I've always said, when they are this close it comes down to your build. However, i have heard people say and swear by an ac9 is a better vape than the rsst. For one, it comes down to how you build it. I can build an rsst today that vapes just as well as an ac9. But it still (always) comes down to, if it keeps you from the analogs (stinkies, which i hate that term, but thats another post) , do your thing.

i started building on the most damn-near impossible set up, it's kind of like a "z-atty" type genesis too, but the wick is only a half a cm tall with zero space to work with. that was my first atty. after that, everything seems so easy, wrapping coils in no time- single, twisted, and parallel. after going through those brutal growing pains of trial and error on that first genny and recoiling a vivi nova with mesh (oh god why did i even waste my time), i really appreciate easy set-ups. and i have a frame of reference of what is a tough atomizer to set up and what is cake
