Hey all. After some dicussion with other forum members, I purchases a Joye EGO from Nicotine Nirvana. It arrived today and all I have to say so far is wow! It's definitely providing a much better smoking alternative than the P.O.S prosmoke I had purchased. But I do have some minor issues that I though I could possibly find solutions to via discussion here.

I thoroughly blew out my atomizer before use and it was working fine, but after a few hours of no use I went to use it again and I was getting an awful taste out of the new cart. Almost like a chemical/plastic taste. I removed it and, though there appeared to be no melted plastic, the wick did look rather dry already. I hadn't really used it an awful lot yet. Could this be that the cart was just that dry? I was expecting the cart to last a lot longer than that...

The other problem being that one of my atomizers does not hold onto the cart very tightly. I can barely feel it click into place and it takes very, VERY little effort to pull it off or even pop it off on accident. I checked the inside of the atomizer and it appears to have no defects. I have tried other carts with the same results. The other atomizer holds onto the cart very securely. Is this a common problem? Should I contact NN for a replacement atomizer? I really dont want this cart coming off when I'm on the go and don't notice it...

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Yes the cartridge filler on a 510 does need to be topped off with liquid more often. When your vapor starts to die down and the flavor seems to be light-refill with liquid.
As for the carts-that is very common. Some people have said they bite the end that goes into the atty and that helps to tighten the fit. I have never had to do this, so I am not sure if it will work. Cartridges are really cheap, you may want to purchase a few next time you place a juice order.
If you go to the Pay It Forward forum I am quite sure someone in the Swaps or Treasure Chest area will help you out on the cartridges. Here is a link.

Or, I could send you some. Shoot me a pm (private message) with an address and I can get some in the mail tomorrow.

Well I don't really think it's the cartirdges though. While the one atomizer is fine, the carts don't seem to "click" into place with the other. They are more or less just sitting in the slot. I can't pick the ego up from the cart with that one because they slide right out, that's how loosely they are sitting in that atomizer. I have tried 7 or 8 different carts in in it so I'm thinking it's the atomizer itself.
Thank you very much for the offer of carts, but I actually bought 40 blanks with my purchase so I'm pretty sure I have plenty!

Heat up a safety pin or a paper clip with a lighter and touch it to your cart where it goes into the atty... it will melt a plastic "bump" into it and then it will fit tight. :)

Nifty tip there-Will have to remember that one for the future.

Maybe you should e-mail the vendor and see what they say. Maybe they will switch the atomizer for a new one. Good Luck!

Could be your attys are streched a bit more than others at the top. I have a few like that. Carts just fit too loose. The tip for slightly melting the edge is a good one. I just crimp mine a bit (teeth or pliers) and they snug up.

Regarding the burnt taste; The other nice people here have given good examples of what it most likely is but it also could be the junky filler that some put into their bulk packs. I've noticed when I buy 5 or more packs, some orders have a more dense filler in them and the liquid wicks much slower and doesn't keep up. What I've done is to remove the filler and trim it slightly down the side with scissors, then fluff it back out to loosen it up.

Works for me!

Congrats on your eGO purchase.

If your carts fit well on the other atty and you don't want to change them, you can modify the loose atomizer itself so it holds carts more tightly. just take a pair of pliers and lightly squeeze the opening. Try not to make a visible change to the opening, that is too much. A tiny alteration to make it just slightly out-of-round will be enough to make it hold a cart very tightly.

Heh, reeftivo beat me to the punch, and made me think of a dumb Jeff Foxworthy joke; "I you have broken more than one tooth resizing atomizers, you might be a redneck".
