I burned up some juice real good in my atomizer last night at the bar, and it still had the burned taste this morning after cleaning it out. I sought out the videos and threads here on the forums and successfully took the atomizer apart/cleaned it. My question is about the wick.

My wick didn't have the steel mesh looking thing that I've seen in the videos/pic tuts, and the inside looks different altogether. There are no flat surfaces inside, instead it is coiled with heater wire and the coil goes directly into the middle... maybe the pics just aren't as detailed but do I have a different atomizer of some sort?

Throw them away and take up cartomizers or clearomisers.

It's the same issue the world over; only a few people stick with these so-called "tank" systems for long.

The only reason they sell them is because one brand has refused to back down (having invented it, which I suppose is fair enough) and admit defeat.

It saddens me that most of the new vapers in this area are sold kits that include this set-up....and yet, somewhat suspiciously, nobody who works in the vape shops uses them. I smell a rat.

I tried them (having tried cartos and clearos) and for the first few puffs thought they were promising. Then the bad taste issues, then the leaking.... and I'm not even a newbie.

My atty burned out today after cleaning it... but I'm sure this was my fault rather than the design?

I've used cartomizers in the past, I think they are a bit expensive and not necessary... and the carto/filament that went on my 801 setup sucked big time..., I'd take the tank over it any day.

What is a good carto or clearo to beat what was just mentioned?

Prime up the atomizer by dropping a few drops of ejuice directly on the post, then stove pipe it by drawing on the atty without the tank on. Put tank back on, vape. This always works for me although I've never really burned my out, just got a burnt taste now and again.

That is my new method that I use when switching flavors or cleaning burned taste.
