BEWARE and please NOTE that nicotine is a poison,,,,,,,,it MUST BE locked away from children and animals,,,,,,,you should wear rubber gloves to make e-juice,,,,,,,and more protective gear at the higher nic levels is necessary, depending on the nic level you are handling and cutting down,,,,,,,100mg can be downright DANGEROUS if you spill it on the floor.

Hi mmudder,
Your costs can be higher to start out on vaping. Some of us, i wont mention names, have spent way too much. And you will want to try different things. The first 6 months, DEC 15th, if i added it up, i probably didn't save any money over cigs. But i probably added some time to my life. Now next year, i don't think i will spend one penny.

ok to be clear on some of the other posts, yes we can buy concentrate and tons and tons of flavors.
you can buy concentrate up to 100 mg to give you an idea of how strong this is those prefilled carts contain 1 ml of 18 mg nic.
its easy to do but you must be careful and pay attention to what your doing.

but we have a whole section devoted to that too recipies, sources for flavorings and such

Good time to get into vaping with upcoming sales! Then again, this is about as cheap as you can get-

Katana Kit

good deal,,,,,,,but I'd suggest two of them :) One to use and one to charge,,,,,,,and I'd also suggest buying a third as soon as possible for a back up :) but an excellent price.

Clearomizers like the Kanger T2 can be very cheap. You can buy one for as little as $4 and get replacement heads for as little as $1. I got 3 months of use out of that kanger rotateing between a couple heads. Its easy to clean and fill, holds 2.4ml of liquid, gives a warm vape and was trouble free for me. Except, a lot of this China stuff needs cleaned before first use.....the kanger replacement heads CLEAN FIRST.

Honestly, I'd say my first 6 months of vaping I probably spent about the same as I did when smoking because I was buying alot of juices plus tried a couple different e cig kits before I got comfortable. Once you find your comfort zone and flavors you really like alot, then you can save alot and only splurge on trying new flavors and that sort when you feel like indulging yourself. I wasn't comfortable about making my own juice until about 6 months in also because I wanted to save money. I only use 48 mg nic juice to mix with so I don't wear gloves and all that. It's not dangerous. If I get a speck on me, which I haven't yet, I can just go wash my hands good and not worry. I like to get 48 mg nic because I enjoy vaping at 12 mg nic, and it seems to break down mathematically easier when I dilute it down to 12 mgs. :) But you can learn all this kind of stuff later once you find your vape zone! :)

Sorry for asking so many questions. Feel free to thump me a good one if I'm asking too many!

The 21st century e-cigs I'm smoking now tend to make me cough and leave a very dry feeling in my throat. Will I be able to avoid that issue when I buy another kit and use the liquid refills? I'd go ahead and do it now, but there's no way I'm going to waste the cartriges I already have for this piece of crap kit, heh.

The dry feeling and cough comes from e-juice.It can dehydrate you, you need to make sure you drink a lot of liquids when vaping.

Also many people find it helpful to inhale the vapor into their mouths and hold it for a few seconds FIRST before inhaling into the lungs or blowing it out the nose.

Howdy,

The cost of E-Cigs is directly related to how much your willing to spend on it. A lot of us have high dollar mods, expensive PV's and atomizers but these are all not really required to vape.
As mentioned before an 18650 battery with care will run a year, has the drive enough to last a day depending on vaping habbits. Cartomizers and Atomizers are all expenses and expendable unless you get Rebuildable atomizers where you only replace the coil and wick (there is a lot of information on RBA's) and you can pick up atomizers/carto's pretty cheap if you shop around.
The PV is your choice, you have to set a budget in mind, look at the quality of the device and decide from there.
As I like to say, vaping is vaping, you make it your'se with the choices you make.
I guess to break it down
PV( Personal Vaporizor)-This is like your Cig rolling machine, power house that drives the process.
E-Liquid-Tobacco, its expendable and contains your nic.
Atomizer/Cartomizer-like the box of tubes, only good for so many uses and decreases lifespan each time you use it.

Hope this helps out some.

I don't know, I've spent waaaaaay more on e-cig stuff and juice than I would have spent on smoking during these last 3mths - BUT I'm not smoking! That is the most important thing to me. I've got two great kids and I want to be around and healthy to see them become adults and have their own families. I've asked myself a few times - do I REALLY want those shoes or do I want that new battery and those cool clearomizers? I am settling down though, have found some juices that I really like and can stick to, replacement heads etc. and I should be good for a while now. Should be. Hopefully. Maybe.

E-juice is a very personal thing - and I've got lots that I just don't care for. I think you should choose mild flavours at first and go on from there. It would be awesome if there was a swap out - I've got almost a full bottle of coffee, two bottles of french vanilla, five of organics and something else that I can't remember that I just don't like the taste of - would be cool to trade them. :)

Well, look at it this way...Your spending money, vaping on some amazing flavors and saving your life and health rather then spending money, ruining your health and smelling like an ashtray....
I vote spend money and vape your way to freedom from analogs :).

Its new to your body, its takes time to get use too. Drink plenty of water. My niece coughed also, buddy at work also. No matter what you end up with, you can use what you have and get use to the vaping. Take your time, don't inhale as hard, its not the same as a cig.

I'm not sure if it could be the juice you are using or just that the cartomizer is starting to get old or needs refilling. They don't last forever. I'm really not familiar with that e-cig other than the fact that it's in the category of sub-standard vaping. lol. Sorry, but not sure how else to describe it. I'm not sure of the quality of the cartomizers either for that brand. There are good quality cartomizers and bad quality out there. All factor in on your vaping experience.

the 21st century is most likely 100% PG which will make you cough and the throat a little rough. a lot of people will cough at first then some notice they cough even more sometimes as the lungs start to clear themselves.

whats interesting is once you are used to vaping lighting a cig will make you cough because your throat isnt all roughed up and coated with tar anymore and the smoke burns like when you started.

No need to apologize at all! This is my first e-cig (bought in a convenience store, of all places); I'm bound to screw it up a time or two before I find all the good info on them. Actually, I didn't even know that other types of e-cigs existed besides those that look like real cigs until around 2 days ago.

In saying that, you'd think that e-cigs would be advertised more. I didn't know that they are this wide-spread. I thought that they were some sort of gimic, and not worth my time. If not for getting this new job, I'd still be extremely ill-informed. The internet is the only place I've found information about them. Considering the fact that they offer an alternative to giving yourself lung cancer and sharing second-hand smoke, you'd think that commercials would be all over TV.

And it probably is sub-standard. It looks like a cigarette, and the cartriges come pre-filled. This is it exactly:

21st Century Smoke Kit (2 Menthol Refills, 1 Battery, 1 Wall Charger) on eBay!
