New forum member with awful Blu experience...

Hi guys,

I had been lurking on here for a while, and had planned on joining for some time. I figured now would be a good time, as I'm in the middle of a very frustrating back and forth with Blu Cigs. When I bought my first kit, I read all the negative info on them, and I read countless suggestions to go for the eGo, and I made the mistake of ignoring them. I'm hoping I can help anyone who's on the fence like I was.

I bought my white Blu starter kit (Classic tobacco, full flavor) and found that the new cartomizers didn't last anywhere close to their claims. The batteries were quirky, their chargers were worse, and their instructions were anything but consistent with how the product seemed to actually work. After about a week, I decided enough was enough, and I sent them back for the 30-day money back "guarantee."

Fast forward a few weeks, I got an email saying they'd shipped it back to me and that my warranty was voided for using an outside company's e-juice. Something I had never done. Not once, at any point. I used my Blu brand carts. Nothing else.

This was about three weeks ago. Over the course of the last three weeks, I have been emailing them (and not getting a reply), and calling them only to be put on hold forever. Occasionally I'm even told to just call back later because their systems are down for maintenance.

Good god, I'm kicking myself for not listening to the experienced folks on ECF. :(

Anyway, I'm happy to have signed up. Lots of great info available here!

Cheers.

P.S. If anyone here has similar experience and could give me some advice in how to handle these idiots, I'd appreciate it. As of now, I'd like to have my $70 back, but I'm almost to the point where I'm going to take this starter kit outside and film it being shot to dust.

I also started with Blu 3 months ago. Since, I have bought another 510 kit and a long battery also. Strangely, the Blu carts clean and rejuice well. They work better on my second kit than they ever did with the Blu batts. Just telling you all is not lost if you buy another 510.
BTW, since my new ones are manual, I still use the Blus when driving.

Aw that's a shame. Hopefully someone will have tips for dealing with them.

My recommendations:

510 manual (short battery life, I prefer the long mega xl manual batteries but use the short ones away from home because I love the PCC I got at NoSmokeVA - super roomy - holds 2 bats w/ one of them charging, and 6 other items). I mostly use my 510 with Boge soft-cap cartomizers or with a Joye 306 standard resistance atomizer w/ a 306 cart (for whatever new flavor I am trying out) or with a drip tip (since I have manual batteries which are sealed on the end). Hopefully someday they'll come out with a nice plastic roomy PCC for mega xl manuals. If you are a heavy vaper, the short batteries probably won't be good for you - you might vape one down before the other can charge.

KR808D-1 manual which is sold in colors w/ lots of prefilled cartos Vapor4Life.com - this is a 2 piece. Full 3.7 volts so runs a bit hotter than a 510. It's the most supported 2-piece ecig threading. Decent variety of blank cartos at various vendors. I use soft cap cartos (the V4L ones or others) and can get 4-7 days use out of one. The standard size batetries are the same charge length as 510 mega xl - 280mah or about 3-5 hours for a light/moderate vaper but if you vape it constantly you can cut that in 1/2.

Ego or Riva 510 - the fatter battery models of 510 with 6-8+ hour battery life and ability to use harder hitting low resistance (LR) cartos and atomizers

I vape both 510 manual and Vapor4Life manual, both with cartos and at home I sometime drip on the 510 w/ Joye 306 atty. The LR version of that atty is popular on the fat battery models.

Beginning to vape can be expensive with stocking up, finding the juices you like, buying car chgrs, etc. My advice is to just forget about the $70 that went down the drain -- chalk it up to one lesson learned in the learning curve. Keep your Blu for a backup since they obviously don't want to give your money back. Then go to liberty-flights or cignot and get yourself something more reliable like a Riva or eGo that will lessen your stress. During the time you're enjoying with a good unit, you can figure out what non-proprietary battery mod will be your "own special baby." Welcome to ECF.

It was blu that actually got me interested in the ecig first, but I never actually bought one. I did one worse, and went with a mall vendor, white cloud. They were alright, but the flavors were lame. Bats are somewhere and probalby still work. I did it for a month or two then put it down for a while.

Then I moved to V4L. Their prices were better, and equipment was about the same quality. Still no PCC like blu had, but a pretty good selection. I've been having problems with the carts they put out, but the batteries last long enough that i'm not terribly preterbed when I have to replace them. Still, when the carts are good, they're very good. They're just not consistent enough.

Still, the eGo seems like the best bang for the buck. Especially the 650 passthrough. But I didn't come to this resolution for the bat, but for the tank option. I'm trying to get away from the whole cart scene. Either way, you can get a double 650 starter from cignot.com. I'm going for the 650/1000 combo from inferno. There's a lot of other options out there, too. Shop around.

@dormouse Yeah, I thought in the beginning that I'd do better having a mini that looks as close to a cigarette as possible, and quickly realized I'd rather have an e-cannon that weights forty pounds and has a battery that lives longer than a beta fish. Based on those needs, the eGo seems to be the choice!

@Rosa I've heard the same thing actually. Seems like it'd be easier to just do right by all your customers than to try to hide the negative press you get for screwing them over, but hey, that's the business model they chose.

I'm all for having more than one model and finding what I like. It's more that I'd rather only support companies that make a quality product that they can stand by. Eh well. Plus the 510 seems like it'd be good to have around as a back-up... like when my arm gets tired from lifting the eGo. Heh.
