New forum width - what do we think?

Shall we:

  • keep it like this, it fits my screen perfectly/ah, I can zoom!

  • Change it back to 950 px wide, it's squished!

I'm back to scrolling to read posts again, and it's really bugging me- making it fluid would probably solve hte whole issue for everyone
Again.... yes this would be best resolved on the forum side, fully agree. I don't understand why you are still scrolling though, after the many suggestions for you to also have control in your browser. Maybe you are on an unusual system? I have eye problems too and know it is in my best interest to use at least all reasonable options available to help myself be comfortable online. I care more about my eyes than the internet does.

The Opera browser has the best built in functionality for this, with Fit to Width and excellent text, image, and full page zooming and resize options.

For Firefox, here are tips from other folks with the same problem:

I don't really carwe to switch browsers- I've treid both mozilla/firefox and opera as well as a few otyhers and have always been most cofortable with explorer- Setting my resolution to higher resolutions means smaller text- too small to deal with for me- I've been internetting for a good long time, and have been on many many sites and don't have to scroll because I'm guessing they either set their sites to fit 800x600 screen resolutions, or they use dynamic settigns that auto-fit browsers and resolutions- If I mess with settigns just to accomodate htis site, then I have to reset the setttings back when I go to other sites- not somethign I care to do each time

I hear you and appreciate the fustration you are in. I wish I knew more to find the solution but I don't. A few posts back Kate said that she had no problems viewing other VBulletin forums but still had to scroll horizontally with this one which is much narrower. I know there's an answer but off hand don't know what it is.

I do understand not wanting to switch browsers. Your other comments though, they don't apply to the type of options available nowadays. I say that if not for you then for others reading.
