Ok guys, the ecigs these days are great but with the ongoing issues people have with parts is not making it a viable option for the ecig to get huge recognition.

When are we going to see a new design? i mean something completely different in the sense that the atomizer operates in a very different way. Something that doesn't rely on things that can degrade so easily? no wick. no cotton carts etc.

I'm mainly focusing on the core of the e-cig; the atomizer. I know the batteries are still an issue but thats just a waiting game.

It would be great to have an ecig that had carts with just liquid rather than having cotton to soak it.

I still feel like were in the BETA stages of this new technology even though its been out for a while. I cant wait for the days that i just put my battery in, in the morning and put it back on at night without any maintenance.

Good point. As a new ecig owner I have to say I often have regrets for starting this ;)
I'm charging batteries all the time... otherwise I wont be able to smoke.. and making smoke is often hard... a lot of effort with small results ... I still wonder whether to continue with e-cigs... At firtst I thought it was a good Idea, u buy a cig and then only the cartridges ... Now I see everything has to be changed often -batteries, atomizer looks like it will cost me a lot more money than I first thought ...
On the other hand it has hell lot of advantages
Anyway, this technology needs an upgrade!

I know what you mean Alper, because i started of with 2 e-cigs ... the Super Mini and the DSE901 ..... I still have my original Super Mini " The one i did with the video on youtube" ... That was about 2 month ago .... With regards to the DSE901 .. I have replaced the battery twice AND the automizer once ..But ...But...And i got to say this ... I did all my early days of experimenting with my 901 ..so i did give it a bit of a hard time driping carts and the automizer lol lol .... Mabey i got it right with my super mini after giving my dse901 such a hard time lol lol

Maybe the persons using the E-Cig should learn the best ways to look after them ...And i know this is hard to get because most people are just trying to sell them .... But the new users should learn what we know about how to clean the Automizers, dripping and the batteries etc etc ... And i think this FORUM PROVIDES JUST THAT.

I wonder if a new type of nicotine substance would be better. If we had little wax type plugs that melted and vapourised it would remove some of the wicking problems with eliquid.

Maybe a design based on the way glue guns work, they heat glue sticks which are fed with a trigger mechanism. The main problem would be formulating a nicotine stick that is not harmful to vapourise and inhale.

yes! thats a great idea!

might be the winner, might not be. but the fact is that manufacturers need to think this way.

The way i see it. the Chinese are making this as a toy, not a serious nic delivery system.

i was thinking along the lines of mixing 2 chemicals to make a vapor, if its possible? maybe couple this more volatile mix with a low voltage coil so its easier to vape?

This is what I mean when I say e-smoking is way too troublesome to go mainstream at this point. We are BETA. We're guinea pigs. We shell out ridiculous amounts of money so manufacturers can hopefully do more research and development. Lord know these things are not worth what we pay for them, compared to other mainstream electronic products.

Delivery needs work, as Kate says. The e-liquid itself needs more work to make it more like the contents of tobacco smoke minus the carcinogens. Reliability is a must. And that's why I still believe the true disposable e-cig is the mass market future. Plug in the battery at night, throw away the used cartridge, and start the new day with a new cartridge screwed to a fully charged battery.

Today's e-smoking is too much fuss for too little reward.

i totally agree with TB, the main philosophy should be keep it simple, any complications and you begin to lose a huge market. Atomizers should be disposable, they need to be disposable as at the moment, i don't think there is the technology to build an everlasting atomizer...they are the simple solution to all problems e-users come across

The next stage in e smoking is gonna arrive sometime soon, i can feel it.

the current technology is fine if the costs of atomizer carts werent so much.

The loongtetem V9 is a shocking ecig but the idea is what needs to be implemented (properly).

The V9 was easy, i had no care in the world with that thing, were as with the 901, the thought is always with you, whens my atomizer going to kick it?

maybe this method can be the the 1.5v before v2 comes out?

Hold on a Min .... I am still using the same automizer after 2 month .... Why do we need a throw a way one .... Mabey e-cigs will go along a route of those who know how to get the best from their e-cig .... and those who just want an e-cig smoke and throw it away like a real cig !!!!!.....A Bit like cigar smokers and cig smokers.

definitely. you will have the enthusiasts that would care for it and all that jazz, but the mainstream as well as some of the lazy people (me) want something they can either keep with very low to no maintenance or disposable.

bottom line is smoking is a habit not a hobby, people don't like having to care for an ecig.

Maybe there is a safe way to use microwaves?

Dielectric heating - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Does anyone know anything about this?

Don't think so Kate, too complicated and would need too much power. Also a bit safety issue having microwave energy so close to the face.
An outsider might be Peltier effect Thermoelectric cooling - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
normally used for cooling, but can be used for heating. A bizarre side effect is that while the atomiser got hot, the e-cig would get cold:)

i actually tend to enjoy of the fiddling involved in the e-cig . I guess that may have something to do with me smoking roll-ups in a previous life and using zippo lighters, plenty of fiddling there too.

i used to roll as well. i love the fiddling as well, but when im out and about i want convenience!

I am totally in agreement. I tried this because I thought it would be a good way to stop myself from smoking. I have become quite despondent about the whole thing very quickly.
Not only is the technology unreliable, but the majority of retailers dont give a rats .... what their customers are going through.
There are other forms of inhalents. maybe we need to get over the 'smog' factor. just because it makes 'smog' doesnt mean we are getting a good hit. Its just a thought but has anyone thought about the inhalents that we get when we have a cold? I'm not suggesting that we shove an ecig up our nose but couldnt that sort of thing be modified for nicotine inhalation?
Anyway, Im not a chemist or an inventor but it seems that nobody is really trying to improve it because they are getting their profits (which in some cases are rediculously high) and dont think in a proactive manner

I feel i have went up to the next leavel of smoking .....It feels better, it cost's less ....and its a bit of a hobbie "not an addiction" ...Its fun at this momment in time and has cost me less than real cigs so far ... "hope it stays that way" ...I have had fun smoking the diff tastes.

Oh ... And PS >>> I know it is STILL AN ADDICTION ...ITS JUST THAT IT FEEL'S MORE LIKE A HOBBIE ...... lol lol .... Dammmmmm ..... It might be an addiction after all !!!
