YES, I realize it is a short. But why does it work great for 5 -8 hits then burnd harsh 1.4 ohm.

And I have read the forum....

Remove the screw for air
drill 1/16 in top
wrap top wire between bottom screw and middle screw
use top screw for air control
use extra wider mesh
oxy 3 times
oxy 3 times with juice (don't quench)
and so on.....

How do I know who to listen to?

Not helping

Maybe your right, and this device is not for you. I agree, it takes tinkering and patience. Some of us don't like to fiddle around so much, quite understandable. I guess I was merely trying to suggest that when you do hit it right, it is just unbeatable. Now that I have experienced it to my delight, (btw, without drilling the cap, I like it right where it is), I find it easier to arrive there repeatedly. Good luck on your journey whatever your decision, however all has been delved into on this forum, and I sometimes review techniques, just to try something new.

I realize it is a new device and people are testing different options but it would be great if those options and suggestions could be found in one place or one video. This forum is now up to 245 pages and most are about package tracking info. That is not what I thought it was for. It is just hard to find an expert that can say this is the best way to do it.

I am a mechanic and like tinkering.

The bottom line here is that you shouldn't impatiently PM Jim asking for him to ship your atomizer!! The fact that you're able to buy one of the very best rebuildable atomizers EVER from a legitimate business rather than indefinitely waiting on a list or participating in a potentially risky coop means that everyone should just BE PATIENT and GRATEFUL for Jims hard work and the opportunity to own one of his beautiful devices! If you ordered any less than 1 month ago today, you have no right to be hassling Jim and wasting his precious time! For every impatient pm you send, that's an extra 5 minutes wasted by Jim answering you that could have gone towards him getting a little R&R with his family or working on manufacturing the atty that you can't wait more than 2 weeks for. So please, I know waiting sucks, but don't make any us wait longer because of your impatience. If things keep going the way they have been and individuals continue to overload Jim with PMs regarding order status, we shouldn't expect him to continue making the DID as easy to get as it currently is.

AMEN brother, he should be rested, he only works like 28hrs a day, so he has plenty of time for all.

I have tired a lot last days from all the impatient people!
I see some people saying words and complaining about the order of the shipings?
I have so much work to do for you and I have to reply here because some people think I have a perpuse or something ?
Which can be my earning of senting your orders in deferent way and no an easy way for all of us?
I have to make your orders (and answer to impatient mails)
I have to pack them (and answer to impatient mails)
I have to put USA orders together (and answer to impatient mails)
I have to put EUROPE orders together (and answer to impatient mails)
I have to put all other world orders together (and answer to impatient mails)
I have to put the TNT seperate from ELTA provider too (and answer to impatient mails)

Can anyone tell me what to do for customers to be happy?

I have to go back to PRE-ORDER so I get my peace back!
Really sorry!
I try very hard!

Jim, I just read your post and my heart hurts for you. YOUR DID is PERFECTION in my opinion. It is OBVIOUS the effort, patience, and love you put into building and designing it. I THANK YOU for making it available to US! PLEASE- DO NOT let people discourage and stress you! Do what you need to do to maintain the love of your work AND your desire to share your babies with the world! Set limits for yourself, do Pre- orders, whatever it takes, but your health and well being come first because without you no more DIDs will exist! PLEASE don't let that happen!

If it's taking that long for it to get harsh you could also be possibly vaping the wick dry or in other words your mesh is not "wicking" fast enough to keep up with your pace.

Hi Mike, I sent you a PM, please read as I think patience and practice is key here. I'm a girl and this is my first RBA, if I can do this anyone can :).

Not on topic, but wanted to share a cool definition I found today.

What are communities of practice?

Communities of practice are formed by people who engage in a process of collective learning in a shared domain of human endeavor: a tribe learning to survive, a band of artists seeking new forms of expression, a group of engineers working on similar problems, a clique of pupils defining their identity in the school, a network of surgeons exploring novel techniques, a gathering of first-time managers helping each other cope. In a nutshell:

Communities of practice are groups of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly.

Welcome to the "DID Community of Practice" :)

Ya know, Someone on the forum weeks ago said to the effect "Order your DID today because when this thing catches on, its going to get rocky to get one". Well looking on the facebook area wicks and rebuildables, and here, I think the day is arriving. I sense poor Jim, who has not seen daylight, is finally showing a bit of strain. I understand you pay the money, you want the toy, but prior to Jim, a very short time ago, I was on 10 different lists in the now defunct uk vapors, trying to get any kind of Genesis atty I could, to no avail. So what's the bottom line. I ordered my DID, paid the money, and then just sat back and waited for the magic package to arrive. I never checked tracking, wrote emails, counted days or anything else. Why, you might ask? Well I figured this guys operation is not Amazon, therefore if I start burying him in questions, it would take away from his build productivity. So, for selfish reasons I left him, and my impatience alone. Guess what, the magic package eventually arrived and I have been delighted ever since. Right now I have other orders active with Jim, and again I don't worry about when they will arrive, I just know they will. This guy has been very honest all along this journey. My opinion, nothing more.

How long will it be before the Short DID gets restocked? I am not sure if I can get it before this stock runs out.

Hi Mr Mann, do you have any of the original DID components yet? I have some Short DID parts to go with my original DID I would be happy to send you a set but you would need the original DID set-up in order to use. Patti

Oh my goodness! How thoughtful, I don't know what to say! I don't have anything but my ProVari and my Joye attys:( (not saying that set-up is bad.) I have been wanting to get into the rebuildable game and thought this was a great place to start. I am not totally behind the game, but I am not in the game yet. So, thanks for the AWESOME offer, but I would not really benefit from it just yet.

Well dam, I wrote an entire quote and it timed out on me :(. Anyway, all I can say is if you are ready to step up to RBAs the DID is a great place to start Mr.Mann. I've been making my own CE2 syringe mods for almost 2 years now and the DID is my first RBA. Took a lot of research, reading, watching videos, while I waited for it to get here and ALOT of patience and practice oxydizing wicks and making coils but once you get it right there is nothing better!!! I've been a member here for almost 2 years but don't post much- I the read the forum daily and learn but have NEVER posted so much until I got Jim's DID. That in itself says a lot :). Patti

Jim, *you* are fast! It is the NY p.o that is slower than molasses.
Maybe a note on your website stating "Shipping & Delivery within 3 weeks of purchase" would help quiet the impatient ones? (that way they'd be thrilled when it showed up in the avg 9 days and not pestering you when it takes NY a bit longer). They don't realize it's NY's fault, not yours. You are amazing! Please do not let the impatient ones hurt your heart.
I agree wholeheartedly. My first DID sat in customs 3 days, and 7 days total ship time. Twice as fast as I expected.:) My second Shorty DID was received at NYC Customs one day after ship notice from Jim and sat there for 12+ days. Once released from NYC Customs, I received it in two days. Jim, nor USPS can not control what customs does. It is what it is, and patience should be maintained as to not drive the maker of such a cool device to throw up his hands and say screw it, it's not worth the hassle anymore and walk away.

I really like my DID and I am happy I have it.

As for Jim's troubles: you are still on top in terms of delivery time, not to mention quality, availability for feedback etc. Really, people, get a grip. Or try to get some other high end mod or atty, then come here in two years after you got it and beech about three weeks then.

The thread here isn't helping when people post that order 13xx has shipped and meanwhile people with orders in the 11xx haven't had shipping notifications yet.

Jim's post should pretty much explain it for everyone. If you're in the 11xx or 12xx and in the USA your's hasn't shipped yet. I'm in that same boat and I get why he's shipping all regions together. He's doing everything possible to save time.

Obviously it's not ideal if you are in the region that hasn't shipped, but eh...it's probably a couple extra days. Again I'm 12xx and in the same boat as you.

Don't get me wrong I always want my toys as quickly as possible as well but I see he's going to the ends of the earth to get this stuff out, and that's quite frankly more then enough for me.
