Has anyone had any luck / does anyone have any advice for "brushing" a polished SS DID??
Preferably by hand or with the use of a dremel?
I have several dremel attachments that would likely do the job, but am concerned about it looking completely uneven.
I've had great luck brushing out scratches in already brushed devices, but have never attempted to fully brush a polished device of any kind...
If you mean creating a brushed finish on the casing,
I managed to remove the black rubber coating and brush/polish finish an ego battery the other day.
The trIck I used to get it even was to insert the artery end into a drill chuck and spin it up while tuning fine sand paper SLOWLY up and down the shaft while applying even preasure along the paper. You would need somthing to put in the drill with 510 female thread so as not to damage the DIDs 510 connector. The knurling might impeed rushing right to the edge of the tube and cap, so you might try an o ring between the cap and the top plate to give a bit of extra room to get the sand paper up to the edge, the tank may be done with one o ring at a time at each end and still be able to be tightly screwed together while spinning in the drill.
