Hi
My site have been updated
The problem is that most of you have a coockie in your browser that doesn't let you see as it should!
So please clean your browser from coockies to saw properly!
Thank you and sorry for that!

Tried clearing cookies, tried different browsers, tried two different machines, same site, no new stuff????

DID came in today. Sure looks nice. Wish I could get it to work! LOL
My inexperience seems to be my main problem. I've tried 2 wicks and almost all the supplied Kanthal
and still seem to get shorts. Moving the wick and coils around occasionally gets the coils to fire but it
suddenly pops between the last coil and the brass screws. Coils glow properly when I remove the wick so I'm thinking
the wick is somehow not getting properly oxidized. I'm using a propane torch...could that be the problem?
I do get the wick glowing red with it.
Have followed both Jim's video and Scotts including burning juice on the coil as a last step following 3-4 solid passes passes of
the torch. Still no go.
Advice for this RBA noob would be most appreciated.

Hi all

I see the buzz about clear tanks is gathering pace, just got a couple of 19mm diameter tanks and thought I'd cut one down for my DID. It really is quite simple and it looks great!!!

In the UK, tanks come from Vapeescape - £7.99.

Also just ordered a couple of short kits. Will make a clear tank for one of those as soon as I get them.

Get one before they're gone.... :)

i was having the same problem too,,get that top piece of wire as close to the wick as possible and shortest distance possible going to the brass nuts ,,

@fuzzione

First thing, relax buddy... this will become easier as you think through each step and realise what it does.

Please don't keep junking a wick and coil if it's not working first time. A little manipulation, reoxidising and fiddling with the coil is the order of the day. Take each step slowly. I eagerly threw everything together the first time too and was miffed when it didn't work first time.

First watch Jim's video two or three times, noting that he oxidises the coil wire (Kanthal) too. Scott doesn't do this, but puts a few drops of juice on the coil BEFORE the first few dry burns. Bear in mind what Jim said about the wick, that it should be a snug fit. Works for me because I oxidise the wick until it's BLACK!!! Don't skimp on this step, it's the basis for everythng else. More is better than not enough. The idea is to fully insulate the wick during the oxidising process so it doesn't conduct & short out your coil.

Your wick should end up like a black straw, so that it wicks well (draws up juice by capillery action), the heat of your coil helping to draw it up.

Now the coil.... I've not fitted a coil that has no hot spots first time. So follow Jims vid to wrap your coil. Make sure there is the minimum of wire between the two connection points and your coils. Lube your wick well and snap fire a few times. DON'T hold your fire button continuously just yet. Gradually hit the fire button for longer each time. If your coil glows red at any time adjust ANY of the coils AROUND the hotspot. Moving the hotspot doesn't always solve the problem. Once the snap fires show no hot spots, lube your coil again and vape away.

Any problems come back and we'll help you sort it out.

Happy vaping!!

Most grateful for all the help Denali and Outadadark. Success! Not a moment too soon as I have exactly 4" of wire left..hehe.
The problem was certainly a combination of insufficient oxidization combined with too long a distance between connection points and coil. I oxidized the wick by heating it red hot and dunking no less than 10 times. It was only after like the 5th time that I noticed it was really getting black. Then I applied layers of pg juice burning it off each time. Did this 3 times. Fiddled, adjusted after getting F1 errors on my vmax and finally it's firing consistently.
Now to break this thing in ....odd metalic taste that I assume will dissipate.
Thanks again!

The delay appears to be in USPS's hands and the customer's. Don't believe you can do much under the circumstances Jim.
