In the picture, the newer inner tubes are flanged on the inside where it makes contact with the top/bottom. I haven't had any leakage, so am sticking with the ones That came with my DID(s).

Thanks CW, I just ordered all the new SS stuff and never looked at the inner tube and was concerned about the new SS pole fitting the old tube. Thanks!!!

Am I understanding this correctly. 5 Euro's for one SS nut?

An SS conversion kit might be an idea at a packaged price: 1 SS pole, 2 knurled screws, 1 spacer nut, 1 top nut....and maybe a backup plastic insert

I have a couple questions Jim. What is the ss spacer for? Is it 5.00€ for each ss nut and ss
screw or does it come in packs of 3 nuts and 2 screws so you have enough for each DID?

Thanks for the update, but I think they are too expensive...

Yes everyone, each part is priced individuallly. Many people begged Jim for SS parts and he had them made. SS is much more expensive than brass, he also has the start up costs, pays people to make them. I dont feel his parts are too expensive. I do feel his DID is UNDERPRICED. He should at LEAST charge 79 euros for it PLUS shipping. Everyone is too spoiled with his prices. To post they are too expensive roly - is not nice.

The DID - besides being the best genisis out there right now - IMO - is one of the cheapest also.

First off, I was just wondering if the price was for each nut and screw. I didn't say it was too expensive. I still am curious about the spacer. Is it to replace the bottom 2 nuts? I do think it would be easier to buy it as a conversion kit that way people like myself know that they have everything to convert a full DID to all SS.

If you have a burning desire to pay more do it. But to encourage to increase a product price seems wrong.
DID is a great product and affordable! ( for now )

I think the issue is just with pricing them individually.

Don't remember if the actual brass post would come with 3 nuts, but if it does and you want to have a 4 nuts config, it cost 20 euro total.

the all SS assembly would cost 27 euro. (no spare nuts tho as you would with the brass)

The screw nuts is just if you want the convenience. I personally am not worry about it. I don't use the screw for fill whole and I am ok with allen wrench for the ground.

I think people just are a bit taken when they are priced individually.... 5 euro a nut is much easier to swallow when it is "hidden" in the overall package cost. of couse he will still has to price them individually... for when ppl just need to replace 1 nut... but just saying... overall it is not much more than one would've paid for the brass...

The DID is perfect as it is with the brass nuts, so I don't see what all the whining is about. Plus, maybe you guys just don't realize that brass is much more conductive than SS...so by switching to the ss you're actually going to be hindering the flow of current.
With that being said, I do think that the spacer is an excellent addition to the DID. It's a stock feature with the Mini and I've found it makes wrapping a coil very easy, but you certainly don't need it to get your DID up and running, and nor does it contribute anything to the way that the DID actually performs.

Just outside my comfort zone.
I get a message that says video not available at this time, whats up with that?
It's almost 5AM and I can't stay up any longer to check to see if the video is done processing, so here's a link and hopefully by the time I wake up tomorrow, it'll be all done. Enjoy!

Ok, to convert my did to the new stainless I would need: 2 screws, 1 spacer, 1 positive pole, and 1 nut, correct? I don't know, might stay with brass, trying to decide.

Yep, that's all you need. You don't need the 2 screws unless you don't like using the Allen wrench or you just want extras ( I've lost a couple already) :)

I'm with you, I have never had a misfire or conductive problem with the brass. I am going to buy a new center pole with the 3 brass nuts as backup, to my fat fingers snapping the center pole in a moment of careless handling. I also think I might go to your 4 nut configuration. By the way, your thin walled wrap is working quite well, and has solved my occasional shorting problem with my fat wrap (touching center pole) because of the added room afforded by the thin walled wrap.

I certainly understand dspin. My personal reason for ordering the SS parts is due to the fact that I run all 5 (soon to be 6) of my DIDs all day every day and they are the only attys I use now. Since some folks have had their brass center pins break I decided to get the SS to have for replacements in hopes they will be stronger. I hope I won't see too much difference in conductivity- miriamWTH says she didn't with hers so heres hoping :) Patti

I thought his thin wall is suppose to be still fat. his video he just happened to rolled a thinner (diameter) one.
