OK, so I go to site today to buy brass center pole with nuts, just for a spare. Ah, what the heck might want to try out the all stainless setup on the old DID, might as well order also, ah heck, since I'm here I'll order a satin mini, just cause. What do I put that new mini on, once I receive it? So what do I do? Go and order a precise + 18350 two tone. Good grief, someone please stop meeeeeeeeee! Hi my name is Rick, and I'm a DIDaholic. ;)

what mesh should i use for 70/30 juice and what gauge kanthal?

where should i go to buy the supplies? this is my first mesh rebuildable and i will be needing much help.. any good videos on setup? thanks

1- 400 ss mesh
2- 30 or 32 kanthal
3- ebay seems to be the hot spot for both recently, however, if you buy the DID, Jim will supply you with enough to get started.
4 go to youtube, type genesis set-up, and sit back for lots of vid. If your looking for DID specific, read this thread through and through, many of our own members have supplied answers to every question you can think of, with a wonderful index in the 1st post. One of members recently completed a beginner vid for DID set-up. You'll come across it a few pages back, its a 3 parter, and very complete.

Hello all. Since Many of you have your Mini and you know what it takes to keep it in the optimal vaping zone I would like to know what is the BEST mod to put it on. I am awaiting the arrival of my mini and want to have an appropriate and visually exciting place for him to sit. He is gonna be polished (like most harley parts) so it needs to be chromed or polished to match. Any advice would be greatly apriciated.

easiest mod would be provari mini which should look great with mini DID

You get ohm meter, shorts protection etc that will tell you you are getting iti right, just make sure you set the voltage to lowest and then increase appropriately. most issue happen is when ppl left their provari set at say 5 volts and the new coil errors out becasue it is for some reason at 1.2 ohm

mechanical works because they don't care about all that, but I think for a user, those information will help you.

Man, where to start... There are so many cool combos. I'm thinking P+ or Cube or Provari Mini, or GGTS, or or,....

All kidding aside, the DID will perform amazingly on just about anything because it's so configurable to taste. If you like mech-mods @3.7v, coil LR (some have said they run at 0.6ohm to 0.8ohm with 30A high discharge batts: ~15-20 watts). Others are having a great time with VV devices coiled SR/HR 2.5ohm and up. All depends on what your vaping style is. Me, I'm an 8-9 watt - tend to wrap ~2.0ohm and switch back and forth between VV and fixed voltage. I'll probably pick up a P+ or a cube (+kick) and a pair of eGo Twists for on the go. Jim had some pics of the Mini on fat batts and they looked cool to me. What ever you get be sure to post in the "Photo album" once you got it all together.

Thanks so much. I kno rite. There are so many to choose from. Whats a girl to do.. Great responses. I would love to put him on regulated bat so guess i am leaning more to a mechanical. Keep up the suggestions. I am looking at the P+ and almost got the chrome provari blems when they were offered. Wish I had now. But live and learn. Get I will go and check out the FS thread to see what is on it today. Thanks guys. Absolutly will post pics when its here. Peace.

I like the way the fat wick vapes but it is so hard to fill. Actually I can't fill it more the a 1/4 way. Tried to suck out the juice first. Thinking I may drill another hole to be the vent when filling.

Tony

I always use a syringe (15 or 16 gauge blunt tip) or needle tipped bottle to fill. Sometimes it helps to clean the fill hole first and wipe the needle dry before inserting and then hold the needle flat against the wall of the fill hole to let air escape. If the fill hole gets filled up it'll either bubble up the fill hole or the wick. Gotta go slow to keep it in the tank.

I did get 2 caps with the 1mm hole. I just bored both out to 1/16 the inch. I had one juice which was my favorite which just did not taste good in the DID. So I tried it with the smaller hole. I believe that this is not such a good juice and would fall under the category of 'needing a little something donated from cartos wadding=-O ' I am going to probably make a silica wick for one of my DIDs and try it through that. I have 180mls of the stuff and hate to go back to cartos for just that one juice.
Has anyone tried the 1mm air hole cap? Prefer it over the 1.2mm? Though it seems most folks bore the hole out to a bigger diameter, not attempt to make it smaller. Which makes me wonder if some like the tighter draw of a smaller air hole. Thanks all!

Well I bought a new toy.....my own electric drill and a titanium drill bit set.
I went ahead and bored out my 2 caps with a 1mm hole to 1/16th "......wow what a difference that made. Awesome flavor and vapor. Has anyone tried a 3/32" vapor hole? I think I will try it on one of the caps. Nothing to lose.
I will have a couple of spare caps as soon as my order arrives (I wasn't brave enough to drill so I ordered 2 new top caps). Who knew drilling would be so easy.

I am going to spray paint it pink. I have a husband who seems to love taking my tools. I am going to have to add a vape room to my house....either that or move back to Colorado where I have a lady bat cave.
darn... i am trying to not go buy a drill/drill bit... I have no room for it and I really wont ever use it again...

Going to try that right now. Let you know in 5 :)

It probably doesn't make any difference, but when looking for mesh I tend to go T316 (medical grade) vs T304 (food grade). Both work fine, I just feel better for the better corrosion resistance of the T316. I've used both plain weave and twill and didn't notice any difference.

Jim has SS mesh and 32awg A-1 on the site now. Each piece (4cm x 10cm) will make 2x thick wicks or ~5x Thin walled wicks.
