Hey Vap, best I've come up with is some comparisons against known resistance tables. YMMV but here's what I'm going by:
0.3x1.0 -> ~33awg
0.5x1.0 -> ~31awg
0.6x1.0 -> ~29awg

Excellent! Thank ya CW! That's what I was looking for. I have noticed the 0.5x1.0 seems to be the most commonly available out there but every time I see peoples post about their set-up with that size they are shooting for Ultra low Ω and I know my juice won't take the heat. Literally! lol I guess I just need to buy some and start playing with it.

Well... not playing with "it", (that got me arrested once while I was in public) what I meant was umm...err... :blink: damn, there I go again. :facepalm: :D

Not in Colorado yet!
Thanks for everyone's help. I may try taking a wrap off when I get home. It's funny that after I made a new wick 3 wraps of the .7 seems to be hitting less hard for me. I used a wick that was 80 mm long for the new one. I think the old one was 100 mm long.

Hoey, 6 days and 6 hours remaining until Greece Trip! Yeah! :)

My favorite so far has been the 0.6 (2/3 on fat wicks & 3/4 on smaller wicks) but neither of these will give resistance high enough for anything besides a 100% mech mod. I have used a 4/5 & 5/6 to get to ~1.8Ω for use on Provari or Vama...

Right now on Provari I have 0.6 @ 4/3 wraps @ 1.2 Ohm on 3mm wick I cut my wire 65mm long and wrap leaving ample tails, after a dry burn it measures 1 ohm. could it be that not all wires are not the same? I have not used 0.7 for a while now preferring 0.6.

Hey Burnie, yes I've found that different vendors will have different stated resistance for the same sized wire (round or ribbon). It's usually pretty close for the same size, but I always go with the rating from the batch purchased. I think maybe the materials used must vary enough to account for the difference.

Now these o-rings are a tiny bit thinner that what comes with the D20 so they are not as tight but they seal just fine with no leaks. For you folks in Europe, I'd find a supplier there because metric sized o-rings are what Jim uses and therefor will fit better. Somewhere in this thread Jim lists the correct sized o-rings. These o-rings are 12.42mm ID and 1.72mm diameter, so just buy metric rings that are that size or slightly larger diameter. The key to the color is the material used. I'm pretty sure Jim uses Viton Duro Brown o-rings but for our purposes, just about any material will work fine.
