Hello all, a co worker of mine had just had some heart issues and had to quit smoking so she switched to the e cigs, this intrigued me mainly because I am soooo freaking tired of vacuuming out my car twice a week to TRY to avoid it sitting out in the sun while I'm at work and getting the old cigarette stench. When I asked Sandy ( a smoker of fifty years) how it was going she said she hadn't had a regular cigarette or a craving for something more since she started. I was pretty impressed because we are always the ones trying to slide out the door to catch a quickie.

Anyway, I ordered the Titian/Tornado and can not wait for it to get in. I'm hoping that the hype won't be so much that I'm let down when I finally get there. I meant to get the tank system but hit the other by mistake...kind of sad but if I like this I guess I'll go ahead and order it anyway...

Any thoughts, tips, or things of the like?

btw...I'm Ash :p

Eh, it may not matter so much- in my very short experience, everyone has their own opinion of the best e-cig out there, but the point is to find a way to get nicotine laced steam into your lungs that works for you.
Since purchasing my first cheap disposable 5 weeks ago, I haven't looked back, tho reading this forum, I could easily spend all my (very limited) spare cash on vaping paraphernalia...

So glad you found your way here! Its a great place to hang out, get some good
info and learn all about this little miracle called vaping.
I was skeptical at first myself, but gave it a try. I was a 35 yr menthol smoker
at two packs a day and more.
Just after 2 weeks of startoing to vape, I totally gave up the ole analogs.
It does work.
It is not quite as simple as walking into the 7 eleven and buying your favorite
pack of cigs....
but.....
if you spend a little time here, reading, learning, watching videos and asking
questions, you will be real suprised at just how easy it is
to walk away from the analogs and never vacumming out that car of your again
(well from cigs stuff anyway)
Just get a unit, get started, learn along the way and you too will find
your sweet spot in vaping.
Glad your here and glad your getting on the vape train!

(see my sig below, it DOES work)

Are the Titan and Tornado different ?
Is that from Totally Wicked ?

Yep on both accounts. The Titan is the re-branded Joye 510 and the Tornado is the re-branded eGo ;-)

Ash, whichever it was you got, I think you'll be happy. Vaping is a different experience from smoking, so you may need to give it a little time to get used to, but in the long run I think you'll see the benefits. FWIW, the Tornado was what finally got me off analogs.
In my case it was the Tank version, but the batteries are the same either way, so you can still just buy the atomizer and carts sometime down the road if you want to check a Tank out without buying a whole 'nother kit

The carts for the standard atomizer will need frequent topping up, keep them good and wet for the best experience. If you decide to keep going with vaping, I highly recommend you check out cartomizers (they are basically a cart and atomizer all in one piece), so much more convenient

The one I got said Titian/Tornado I think it is the one that was made for the cartridges but to have that big ole battery, but I don't think that one has the tank... I'll see when it gets here (hopefully tomorrow!) It is from Totally Wicked.

My biggest thing is battery life for my first one... I want to be able to leave for work and be working a 12 hour day and not search for analogs because my e died. I guess that will be a trial and error thing unless anyone has a good battery e cig. Don't give a crap about the dainty little ones but would perfer not to have a screw driver at work lol.

Welcome to ECF Ash!!! Hang around here and you will be a pro in no time! There is definitely a learning curve with vaping. The initial hit of it will probably have you coughing your head off. (Myself and many others did!) The trick to vaping is that you take a long slow (did I mention S-L-O-W) drag and inhale slowly at first. Play around with it, and don't give up...you'll get it and chances are you'll love it too!

Hello Ash,

Welcome to the ECF. It's actually a good thing to start out without anything more than an atty, a battery, and a cart, simply because it's hassle free and less fiddly than most tank systems. The last thing you want is to find yourself discouraged with the fiddlyness of an e-cig; it's sure to turn you off.

The best tip I can give, as a two-year vaper, is to go at your own pace. You may not quit analogs first thing; that's okay. Most people don't find themselves cigarette free until a week or so in. Others do quit the same day, but it's uncommon. Don't give up. You'll find yourself smoking less and less, and vaping more and more, as time goes on.

And vape with a buddy. When you and your co-worker use to sneak out for a "quickie," you had a routine. Stick with the routine but, instead of smoking, vape instead! You'll find that your cigarette habit is more than a cigarette habit; it's a routine, oral, hand-to-mouth, mental habit as well, which is even more powerful than nicotine.

I wish you the best of luck, and you've found the right place to start as anyone here is always willing to answer your questions no matter how big or small.

I didn't realize I could do that... I may order some on Friday when that lovely pay check lands in the bank probably an extra battery too... and thoughts on passthroughs?

I actually have two Screwdrivers, they were my first "mod" ;-) They're not really much bigger than the Tornado, though they look it in the pics, just a little bit wider at points. Battery life on the Tornado is pretty decent, just be sure you carry a spare with you just in case. Nothing like being out and about and having your battery die on you or running out of juice

Passthroughs are great if you are near a computer a lot of the time. Basically the passthrough battery works just like a regular one, but unlike the regular batt you can use it while it's plugged in

Any suggestions on sample websites or ones you really like? I think (not positive) that the one I ordered was before the tank was developed. I figure if I like this one I'll try the other. From what I've read so far I'm going to try the 18...kind of middle of the road.

Everyone has their favorite vendors, and they're all really good and there are tons out there.

If you like fruit- I like Vapor Bomb, Vermillon River & KickBass Vapor
Tobacco- Backwoods Brew, Vapor Station
menthol (my fav) nhalers Nuport

There are tons I haven't tried yet and I have a lot of juice. I have a long list of suppliers I want to try. That's the fun (expensive) part.

Passthroughs are great for at-home vaping. You don't have to worry about batteries dying or remembering to keep one charged. You will be tied to your computer, however, but that's what batteries are for.

Just make sure you get a 3.7v passthrough for your first, if you so choose to purchase one, as that is what your battery will be. You don't want to dive into different voltages and resistances right out of the gate - it can get confusing.
