Welcome to The ECF Family Kristin!

There is a wealth of knowledge that your new family will be happy to share with you. I remember when I first started vaping, I didn't know a battery from a coil. Browse the different forums here and after a while you'll start getting a feel for how it's set up. Also, for to YouTube and search for vaping 101. In addition to that, YouTube offers a whole world of vaping knowledge. Keep us posted on your journey and get your five posts in so you can move more freely. And, if you haven't already....go to this link right here at ECF https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/forums/new-members-information.741/

Hello and welcome to the forum @kristinsssilva. Glad to have you here!:)

If you are interested in learning more about e-cigarettes (and all the parts and pieces) below are some blog posts by ECF member @Baditude that I highly recommend for someone new to vaping.
Here are a few more links from New Members Information <= Link covers many topics. Here are two of them:
Nicotine

A "general guideline" for nicotine concentration in e-liquid to the number of cigarettes smoked per day. If you are subohming (resistance under 1.0Ω) cut these nicotine levels by at least 50%.

06 mg = 10 cigarettes or less
12 mg = 20 cigarettes
18 mg = 30 cigarettes
24 mg = 40 cigarettes

eLiquid/Juice

PG = Propylene Glycol - the "flavor carrier" of e-liquid. A secondary source of "throat hit", but not as strong as the nicotine concentration. Some people have a sensitivity or even an allergy to PG. It's very thin.

VG = Vegetable Glycerin - the "vapor maker" of e-liquid. Used as a sweeter in many food sources, and also as a skin emollient. It's very thick. Often labeled just "Glycerine"

PG and VG are often used together in different ratios in e-liquid. For example, a 50/50 PG/VG ratio. Some juice vendors offer a range of different ratios as far as PG/VG.

Shinyitis
When you feel a compulsion to acquire a new and shiny gadget. Of course you don't need it, you already have lots and lots of gadgets. But you want something new and you want it in your hands now, to turn over and admire and fondle.
The term originated on the vaping forums.

:) :)

Shinyitis
Further to Woody's comments, the amount of new devices coming on to the market doesn't help - they all say they are better at this, or last longer; I usually try to watch at least 3 or 4 YT vids before making my mind up about what will top my list, but if you're on a real tight budget have a look on all social media for giveaways - they usually ask you to subscribe to their channel or like their page, and maybe add a comment - but as a vaper of just over one year I can tell you that they have given me enough items to keep my shinyitis at bay - at least some of the time!

the shinys will get you as I may have like $750 into just three setups mabe little more add in battery prices as 2 per mod so 6 total and that's just 3 mods alone not counting the other 5 I can see from where I sit now or I mean 6 ii no theres at least 4 more hideing somewhere. and another mod ive been watching but its not out yet with that $200 price tag oh and next month I think I will add another mod to my collection at $240 as I see I have 1 check that has no bills comeing out of it. so needless to say it may take you over and you will have lots of shinys to use and look at.

How you like Texas? Seems like it'd be hella hot! Hella hella hella. I wouldn't mind living in Texas but I've never been, only to the Dallas airport, boy was that an experience.

Well good news is I cannot afford shinyitis but when I can you can bet I'll be here seeking treatment...
Love Texas!!! I do miss the cool brooks around Paradise and Chico, but there are always advantages that greatly out way the loss!!

My shinyitis is currently being controlled (mostly) by DIYing my own liquids and devices. :D

hey everyone, I'm new to vaping, just started a few weeks ago. Currently trying to learn as much as possible. I'm very interested in a career in the industry now that I know about it. Live in NorCal. Currently unemployed and out of school so way too much vaping time on my hands.

Welcome! Just ask, you wont be disappointed I am sure of it.
