Very true. Slippery Elm Bark does very well also (without any burn too). It's what I have resorted to keeping on hand for when I do my doggie nails. I don't like the thought of adding anymore pain than necessary for them. Luckily, I have not nicked their nails myself, but they have come in with broken ones.

Didn't know about slippery elm. Where would one find such a thing. And I winder if I would be allergic as I have a severe elm pollen allergy.

Peroxide hurts but is a mediocre antiseptic.

It us good however at getting debris out of a wound. Mostly I use peroxide for cleaning, it is highly effective on mold, mildew, and stains that are biologic in nature.

I get capsule form from The Vitamin Shoppe (easier to dose my doggie that way for sour tummy)....but you can get just the loose powder form in health food stores, or online. As for being allergic...good question....I'm not sure. I would think not, BUT I'd probably check with an allergy specialist on that one. My dad has the opposite issue with Walnut....he can eat the nut, but can do nothing with the wood.

I was thinking along those lines, Keela. Maybe Burns can't be around the tree (or the pollen), but the herbal compound would be OK. But yes, she should check with her allergy doctor first!!!

For anyone interested, I have a link about the Slippery Elm Bark. There is a lot in there about it's vast uses...and even though the article is geared towards our pets in most of it's verbage, some of it talks about human uses...though they are the same in both ;)

And with that, I'm gonna go find the announcement to repost and head to bed myself. I've pushed my eyes a bit too far tonight.....they are extremely droopy now

Sweet Dreams all!
