ive just got a little fence lizzard we just give him little crickets and the worms...

Lots of lizards need different things, most (I think all) need extra calcium & UVB lighting.
My beardies get lots of different stuff, those 'red thingies' are just a staple I give. Also lots of green veggies, some fruits, a bunch of different types of worms (they like them) and crickets.

heh little spike is doing well. we had to put the tank in the basement the crickets chirping at night was driving my wife crazy. we gave him bigger ones once and i dont think he was eating them cuz they lasted a lot longer than the little ones. and chirped louder too lol. its a bit cooler down there so i thought i might get a tank warmer pad or some such but the lady at the pet place in town said he would be fine with the just basking lamp we already have. siad if he got cold he would just sit under the lamp more and that sounds ok to me i guess since he came from outside and it gets way colder out there then it ever will in my basement...
i think he likes the worms better but no way to know for sure. i try to give him crickets like once a week but we dont always manage cuz half the time the place closes early before we get there.
and i keep finding all the crickets drowned in the water bowl - any ideas how to prevent this? since he is a pet now we kinda want to spoil him and i dont like the idea of him getting too hungry... ive also taken to keeping a little bowl in there with several worms in it rather than dropping in a couple now and then. i would drop them next to him and he would eat 2 or once in a while 3 but that made me think he was hungry a lot so with some in a bowl he can get them whenever he wants

bla i type too slow lol i dust the mealworms with the calcium stuff too. the crickets and mealworms are the only things i could find out to feed him when we did all the reasearch on how to take care of him so i not sure what else to do. he came from the yard so we just tryed to replicate his outside enviroment with some bark mulch stuff (clean and not dusty or any dirt) and some larger twigs and big pieces of bark to hide under and few large rocks and a water bowl. basking lamp in a bowl looking thing sitting on one end of the tank over a couple of the rocks

You need to pop in her when Adrena or Max is here, cause I don't really know about lizards. If I remember right, Erin knew quite a bit about them too.

yea i think a lot of my info came from max and adrena identified what kind he was for me. hes a cute little guy and really neat to watch

Read this:
fencelizards - Care Sheets Information about fence lizard Lizards fencelizards ,characteristics and sexing, Description of Diet, Diet-Carnivorous,Supplements, Nutrition and Usage - calcium and vitamins, Lighting and UVB,Tempatures and Humidity,Caging

As for some quick things not covered:
Don't leave live crickets in the tank 'un attended' (over night), when you pet is sleeping, they will try to eat him
Buy crickets in bulk (I don't know what size your pet is, but 1/2 inch crickets are not old enough to make noise) I buy smaller crickets and feed more so I don't have to hear them.
House crickets in another container, there is a special jell water for them, so they don't drown (don't use that jell water in lizards tank)
I feed crickets to my lizards in a large bin (I'd find at target or Walmart) (I house them in another bin like that)
Give your lizard 15-30 minutes to eat as much as he wants, put him back in tank, but crickets back in there house if any left.
Super (meal) worms are better then normal meal worms because they have less of an exoskeleton, making it easier to digest
Ummm that should do, any questions feel free to PM me

ah ty kkx ill have to do the reading in the morning im falling asleap here as it is lol
oh i didnt know all that we just been dumping the crickets in with him and i dont think most of them make any noise they are usually time but it only takes one chirpy one to get on dw nerves... and ive seen the gel stuff but not at the little local place maybe i have to ask them for it
but only problem i see with that is he is super fast and since he came from outside he isnt used to being handled and its all i can to to even touch him usually. if i try to pick him up he gets all tweaky flying around the tank and his belly gets a lot more blue and if i keep trying he even starts breathing heavy from running around trying to get away... perhaps i just need to spend more 'quality' time with him and get him used to it
