new case idea.jpg

I drew this up last weekend. Just a random idea I had when adding stuff to my other mod sketch. What if I made the case out of steel with rails to slide on the wood. Those metal circles are ment to be a 22mm connection with 22mm-510 and ego adapters, but I cant make the threads. It seemed like more trouble than it would be worth but I like the picture :)

Trevor,

It looks good. You've got some nice innovations!!!

Another ECF guy and I helped someone from France build a Booger BF (Bottom Feed) 510 Connector, because he was having trouble getting parts from Bogger. He got involved after I did, but this person was very helpful in finding the Parts that were needed, and we both came up with suggestions to help the Frenchman build his Mod. He (the Frenchman) promised to post pictures of it when it's done. I hope he does.

If you like, I can send my friend a PM, with a link to this post, to see if he has any suggestions for you. I would think that actually making one could be a bit of trouble, trying to find the right Tap and Die set, but then again, maybe not. Maybe it could be done in parts that screw together, like 2 parts, with the 510 screwing into the 22mm base. The 510 could then be permanently secured to the base. The base could be mounted by screwing it on from the inside. Or maybe a 3-piece design with a longer 510 threaded base section that holds it all together by screwing into a bottom plate.

He is very resourceful, and is a fairly active Modder, so he might be able to find something already in existence for you.

If you are interested, then send me a PM about it, so I don't miss your post in this thread. You could probably live without it, as there are others ways to do the 510, but it seems like a pretty good idea. With the 22mm base, you could build-in an Air Gap for the Tank (or whatever you'll be using). There are several ways to do that. Now that I think about it, there are two or three others I could ask, too.

And hey, those are really nice 3D Pictures you've been making!!!
