Ok, neat so I could get a Bloog or a Vapor King, and they'd be compatible.

Jeeze this is a much tougher decision than I thought it would be... I'm asking my wife questions etc, and she has no clue what I'm talking about...

I'm about to just say F*$# it and buy one of the full size ones you recommended... I've been reading only good things about the Riva...

Good call. buy the riva. If your wife is like most of us, she will tire of the little ones quickly. Skip the step.

There you go!:) If she really takes to vaping, she will be happier with the performance of one with a better battery like the Riva or E-Power. Most new people who start out with a mini model end up with a better battery model within the first several weeks.

I can't second this enough. Here's what I recommend as the best non-mod setup I've found.

From Liberty-flights:
Riva Lite kit: $29.99

from crystalclearvaping.com:
15 pack Resurrector cartomizers: $21.50, free shipping, includes a free driptip of your choice (a driptip is important and often overlooked by first time buyers)

Get some juice from a dedicated juice vendor (hardware vendors juice isn't as good in general). The reasons for this setup: the performance and battery life is great, resurrector cartomizers are 2ml so don't need to be filled too often (will most likely last your wife all day considering her smoking habits, just refill once a day and she should be good). Riva kit includes atomizers and she can try dripping because of the driptip included in the CCV order, though she sounds more like a cartomizer type due to the low hastle.

Heres a picture of one of my rivas (which I still use when out and about). The object in the foreground is a soda tab, you can compare size with it.

Go with one of the carto kits to be honest, (MAKE SURE ITS A RIVA 510). You said you'd prefer a low hastle option, plus the atomizers included in riva kits aren't good imo. Can't go wrong with either carto kit really, both have quality cartomizers (Boge in the normal, smoktech in the dual kit). The resurrectors are better than both though imo (on a riva anyway).

Where'd you find the Riva Lite kit for $29.99?

Ninja Edit, the one you linked is awesome. Totally looks steam punk in the picture.

Thanks, and yes, be sure to click the 20% discount. Mine's a special edition though so it was a little bit more $.

Also mine isn't a "standard" setup. That particular picture is with a 901 adapter, 901 Cisco 1.5ohm atomizer, empiremods dripshield and a liberty flights metal type 2 driptip on a riva special edition. Looks similar if I use a steel resurrector + same dripshield and driptip, though slightly longer.

I started with the safecig, looks like a real cigarette, uses RN4081 cartomizers which are readily available, and they produced very good vapor and throat hit. Battery life was a couple of hours, but they are small so I just carried a few with me. Their cartomizers had the most realistic tobacco flavor IMO. They are very convenient and I still use them from time to time if I don't want to attract the attention that some of the larger mods bring. Safecig recently came out with a mini, but I have not tried it. Personally, I'd recommend anyone to start with an EGO with low resistance atties or cartomizers. They even come in pink for the ladies.

Either the dual or the single are both great cartos and totally usable. I used boges LR for a long time before discovering resurrectors, and tried the duals during the boge time period. It's really personal preference. I'm actually using a Boge LR right now on my provari, they are a widely used and loved cartomizer.

Dual: holds more juice than boge, also uses just faster due to 2 coils. Harder hit than boges.

Single: Holds less juice, uses juice slower, hits softer than duals (which may be a good thing).

Resurrector hits juuuuust a bit weaker than dual, harder than boge for sure, holds 2ml and doesn't go through it super fast so refills are less often. Ideal riva carto for me, but the others are still good.

I'm going to do this I think. Where is a good Juice vendor?

Everyone has their preferences. I'd say rawrvapor if you like menthol, they specialize in it and any juice can be (and they recommend) mentholated at various levels (Hawaii Sunrise deserves a mention). Pinkspotvapors makes great drink flavors (former bartenders iirc), I'd recommend Tahiti Breeze, Pink Spot (pink lemonade), Pina Colada, they also have a really good Dutch Apple Pie (best apple pie I've found, most places have a fake apple flavor, they have a baked apple flavor). Thevaporroom.net is good for a budget, every week they have 4 juices on sale for $10/30ml and on weekends one juice is $5 for 15ml. TVR juices can be hit or miss though so I tend to look for reviews about particular juices.

One note about the vapor room though, you get a free 15ml of your choice on your first order, so you can get quite a bit of juice for very very cheap. Also use the coupon code "thankyou" for 10% off.

I've not met anyone who has successfully quit smoking using a PV that is available in a mall. But, i and many others have quit on an eGo or a number of larger and more powerful devices

I have a story to tell and a few questions to ask, if I may.

First let me say I have been smoking since the 9th grade (1967), and have been smoking a pack a day (Newport 100"s, then USA Gold 100's) for at least 40 years

I purchased my first e-cig on August 20, 2011. Took the wife to the movies at Arundel Mills Mall, outside of Baltimore, Md. and while wandering through the mall, I picked up a "Smoke Free" e-cig at a kiosk. It looks just like a filtered 100mm cigarette (white batt, tan cart w/the little speckles). The "Duet" starter pack contained: 1 batt, usb charger, a/c adapter, metal carrying case, free pack menthol cartomizers. I added 3 additional packs. Total cost over $150. Took it home, charged it up, and vaped all night (or until batt died). First thing in the morning I'm back at the mall buying a spare batt, and more carts. Everytime I even thought about a cigarette, I grabbed my Smoke Free. For the first time, I did not feel like I was depriving myself, the main reason I could never suceed in quitting. Every now and then, I would prove to myself that I was not missing anything by holding an an analog in one hind and my e-cig in the other. Take two puffs of each, and be reassured that I was not missing anything except for a bit of throat hit. I must have lit about four cigs and took two puffs from each over the next week or so. During that time, I discovered Blucigs online, was sold by the smart pack technology, and decided to order starter packs for both of us. My wife wanted the white pack, which was out of stock, so I waited and continued to vape on my Smoke Free. The white packs were restocked on 8/8 and I ordered our two starter kits, $79.95ea w/3 cart packs ($12ea). The order arrived on 8-12.
Everything seemed fine, the Blu charged up very quickly, and we were vaping away. I then noticed that my pack was not turning off automatically after it charged, like my wife's pack. Everything else worked fine. The next morning I called customer service, and was advised to switch the charging cables I used, since my wife's worked fine. If not, they would replace it. It did not work, in fact the next morning the usb connector broke off into the pack. Called customer service, arranged for an exchange, and sent the black pack back. Since I still had the e-cigs and the enclosed charging cables, life went on. Still not smoking. Replacement pack arrived Sat. 8-24-11. I have not smoked an analog cig in over a month!!!!! I am amazed at how easy it has been. I feel like I'm smoking!!! I even feel guilty sometimes, feeling like I'm cheating and have to remind myself that I'm not smoking, I'm VAPING!!!! You cannot imagine how pleased I am with myself!!!
Now to the questions: I read that the Volcano e-cig (510) is the same as the Blu, just reversed polarities, so the carts fit. I have ordered some blanks to try to create my own stronger menthol flavor, and maybe a few mixes. Purchased the Johnson Creek Sampler pack, their Tundra Menthol, and Volcano's Menthol Burst. However, has anyone heard of the Smoke Free??? What e-cig model is compatible with the Smoke Free??? As I said, it looks like a real cig, a little fatter and a bit longer than the Blu. Would like to be able to get blank cartomizers for it also. Then I would have two coplete kits available. All of these model numbers I see in these comments are confusing, since I cannot tell what is compatible with what. Neither the Smoke Free nor the Blu is labled with a model number (K808, 510, etc). I HAVE QUIT SMOKING AND WILL CONTINUE TO VAPE UNTIL I DECIDE TO STOP ALTOGETHER, though I am really enjoying this and look forward to mixing any number of flavors. Any help or info would be appreciated.

Hi Guy,
What a great hubby you are! Your wife is so lucky, and I am so jealous! LOL
Since she only smokes a few cigarettes a day, I think she would do just fine with a 510 PV with a smaller battery. (mouse over the underlined PV for a definition). I started out with a "Titan", a branded 510 device from "Totally Wicked", a great vendor with excellent customer service. (I'm in no way affiliated, just a very happy customer!) It comes in an array of colors, (including pink!) and you can buy a full kit for under $50 that includes TWO 3.7V 180mAh batteries, charger, and everything else she will need to get started, including the fluids in prefilled cartridges in a range of different strengths. (Optionally she can get a compact kit for under $30 which has only one battery, but I do recommend the 2) You can see the full here, along with a short video:

Wicked-510 TITAN E-NIC (Electronic Nicotine Imitation Cigarette)PINK

They also carry a "Mega Titan" with a longer, stronger battery (3.7V 280mAh) which costs more of course, only comes in black or silver but they seem to be phasing it out because you can get a "Tornado" (a branded eGO)another 510 device, with the larger small-cigar-sized 650mAh battery for less than the Mega Titan. Herein lies the advantage to the 510's...even though the batteries are different sizes, all 510 devices are interchangeable with all other 510 devices and accessories. If she ever decided to upgrade (as I did) to the larger battery, no loss, all her parts (no, not HER'S, her PV's LOL) can still be used, a big advantage. (By the way, almost the same choice of colors if it is an issue!). You can see them all here:

Electronic Cigarette Starter Kits / E Cigarettes and E Liquid from Totally Wicked

You asked what the difference is between the tank and the regular models. The tank is a fairly new delivery system for the fluids a PV uses. Some swear by them, some swear at them. I think they are a bit fiddly for a new user, I would reccommend the older atomizer/cartridge set-up for starters. Optionally, you can also purchase "cartomizers" separately, which are the easiest as everything is in one unit, and you can even purchase them prefilled. Some say the flavor is diminished in them and the tanks, but it really is a personal call. There are a lot of options available, because everyone has different tastes and preferences. The thing is, again, she can always try something different as time and taste dictate. Even the tank systems can be added later, so you really can't go wrong with a 510. Oh and ditto to what was said about getting the manual battery, please do, it will last much longer and is not so prone to problems. Pushing that little button on the manual will become second nature in no time, plus it preheats the atomizer so you get a much more satisfying inhale.
Phew, I hope I covered everything! If not, just please ask again, someone is always happy to help. I am new to the forum, but not as new to vaping. Please let me (us) know what you decided to go with, I am very curious to hear. I am so glad you did your research and didn't end up with an inferior disposible type, your wife will be so much happier!
Oh, by the way, Totally Wicked has daily discounts on twitter and facebook..if you go to their homepage, you will see the twitter discount for the day on the lower right. And every Friday they add a new bunch of discounted items too, so go back regularly if you want a great deal.

OK, I think I covered it all now! Good luck!

Wow, Thank you very much for that post Char :D

Lots of useful info in there...

However, I think I'm going to go with the RIVA 510 SE. In either the black or steel look... not 100% decided. I've also been recommended to buy C.C.V. Mega LR 1.7 (THE RESURRECTOR) Cartos (Sadly out of stock right now)... I've been looking around on TVR Juices and wow what a selection!
