I recently went on this journey, I needed something that looked like a cigarette while I was at work. Well to start cartridge+atomizer=cartomizer. Cartomizer+battery is a 2 piece ecigarette, cartridge +atomizer+battery is a 3 piece. If you want a small ecigarette there will be trade offs, mostly short battery life. I started with a vapor4life kr808(battery) and it worked ok, got the job done. Then I tried bloog and liked it better, but they seem to have stock issues from time to time, and some cartos tasted off...but they just released a new version, so we'll see.

Welcome to ECF, racerdonnie, besides all the great advice from others here, you can go to the ECF library and read the "Wonderful world of vaping" 6 part series explains everything you asked or vapingguide.com under evaulations lists all the terms and explains the hardware and voltages, ohms, carts, atomizers, batteries etc. Good Luck

Thanks guys. Ill read up on some of that stuff and get back to you. Once I learn what all this stuff means I guess ill be able to tell what I want to get a little better.

A quick way to think about batteries and the mAH (milliAmperes/Hour)numbers you see is simply: the higher the number, the longer you can vape between charges regardless of the resistance (ohms) of the cartomizer or atomizer. It is handy to think of it as container or bottle of electricity. i.e. A large 1 quart bottle will let you drink for a longer time than a teeny 6 oz. one before you have to refill it. For example, if a 3.7 volt, 180 mAH battery on your 510 gives you 1 hour of vaping with a any given atomizer, then a 650 mAH will, theoretically give you nearly 4X that or 4 hours with the same atomizer, a 1200 mAH should give nearly 7X (7 hours) the 180 mAH battery and so on.. The higher mAH batteries will also be physically larger in size. Going to a lower resistance atomizer will reduce the amount of time somewhat as the current draw and subsequent wattage increases. That is a separate topic all by itself. There are many factors that affect the ACTUAL time you get between charges. Therefore, using hours as a unit of measure can be misleading though. Unless they use a pass-through, the typical person probably does not vape continuously all day but rather around 5-10 minutes total out of every hour. This is something called Duty Cycle. To illustrate, I can get an full day and half out of a 900 mAH battery the way I vape (moderate). A heavy vaper may only get one day. This is just a simplified explanation of the basics.
Hope this helps.

And what does "180mah" mean? Also what is a cartamizer, cartridge, atomizer??? is there a dictionary here...lol Or if someone can point me in the right direction to learn what some of this stuff is. Im lost...

The 180mah basically tells you how long the battery will last and how strong it is. A 180mah battery is very small and won't last long. I see a lot of people recommending the Ego and Riva types of ecigs but I will say that I have the Igo and the KR808D-1 (Vapor4Life), and the flavor is better with the VaporKing. Sometimes a very hot vape kills the flavor of the juice. I like them both but I don't think I would have been as happy if I'd used the Igo from the beginning.

Given the specs you've specificaly asked for I would strongly recommend that you get a VaporKing (KR808D-1) from Vapor4Life, but don't get the smallest battery - get the XL Manual type. It will easily last through a work shift. Even a regular-sized (280mah) would do it if you are only worried about approximating 3 cigarettes. The cartomizers make it easy for a beginner to use and it's very no-fuss. Screw the cartomizer on to the battery and vape. That's all there is to it.

Ok after doing a few days of reading I think I'm going to go with the KR808D-1. I looked on the site that you reccomended but I don't see the batteery mah rating. I think I will get a pcc with it to help with thethe charging issue. Like I said I'm only in work for about 4hrs at a time where I only smoke around 3 to 5 analogs. VapingRulz...can you give me a like to the kit you are talking about. Thanks
