Trapped by Schrödinger's cat....
Yeah, the cart popped out of my Blu earlier this evening after i popped it on and did the "twist".
Removed it to peel the remaining foil from the atty and the little clear "bowl" section popped out of it.

After that it was rather useless. I did push it back in, gently so that i wouldn't spill it.
THen on the first hit, it mostly spilled the e-juice in my mouth which I had to rinse out quickly. Tiny cup in that things though/ Kinda freaked me out a bit.

Seems like the more reviews I read the more I realize the Blu was just the wrong choice for me.

Shadowlife

Welcome. I`d suggest a simple mod box like someone else said, and if you did`n like it you could always put an adapter on it. I really don`t see what gives you the feeling that the good modders on this forum treat things as a trade secret, I thought it was exactly the opposite. I have seen very detailed step by step tutorials on mods.

I`m just trying my hand at modding myself. Madvaps has a massive inventory of mod parts, and on my 1st order sent me several free items! Good luck to you, and if I can help with anything in the future PM me.

Blu's are a good choice for light smokers I think, that is what I have and I was okay with it, until I figured out that I like vaping to much
So how I make my blu better..

#1 I refill my own carts and use either the PTB mod or the Poly mod where you only use half of the original poly from the cart. You can find both of the vids/instructions in the forum, just do a search and they will pop up

#2 I make sure that I can see the little hole on the atty through the thread on the battery (when it's close to tightened all the way), this helps with the vapor and helps with the throat hit as well

#3 I always do a primer puff and when hitting on the blu I allow a little air in around the sides of my lips when taking a vape this was advice from another ecf member and it really helps

I know you could be possibly doing some of these things already but I thought I would throw them in there, I do agree however that the blu is really not intended for a heavy smokers so hopefully these will help until you figure out what is going to be right for you. Good luck in your search!

THanks again to all of you.
Honestly seems like a great bunch of folks here and makes me doubly glad I found this forum and signed up.

Zbasspro, I'm sorry, you are correct, I made a gross generalization and I shouldn't have.
There are many tuts on here with write-ups that are wonderful.
It is nice to have so many helpful tools at one's disposal.

Kgrin: I 100% agree that the Blu is mainly for light smokers.
I have been researching mods and am ready to try and figure out what suits me best both in function and form.

Wow, I honestly have never had such a warm welcome before.
Almost makes me ashamed to be such a grump. ;)
Hopefully one day I can return the kindness and pass it on to the next person in need of a kind word.

I forgot

#4 Dripping on the atty works awesome, this is the technique my hubby uses along with dipping and most the time after just a couple of vapes he is done with it for a bit, I don't know why but it seems to hand you more nic doing it that way, when I use the drip method and I drink a cup of coffee I feel like I have puffed a half of pack of analogs at once without the smell, it's a little to much for me, but then I am a light smoker so that may be a good method for you to use with your blu..

...Unfortunately, I do not have the funds to do much at this point...That's why these couple days have been so harsh.
I know if I have even one, I am screwed.

Hi Mario, and welcome to the ecf family.

Seems like you need a decent pv like immediately! Only a suggestion, but get yourself a good, dependable unit to fool around with b4 you rush and build a mod. There so much you can do to enhance your experience with these units.

The Joye 510, KR808D-1, 901 or their variants are all great models that you can build upon. Many tips/techniques and videos are based on one of these units. There is a reason why they're the most popular units among members, by far. For less than $45 you can have a basic kit of two complete units in your hands 2-4 days after placing your order.

BTW, you won't be "screwed" if you have one or even a few. The vast majority of members didn't cold turkey from day one. Main thing is to not put undue pressure on yourself and keep vaping. The journey then becomes a hell of a lot more enjoyable, even fun...and quitting, as one member put it, will "sneak up on you."

Shadowlife, I know I mentioned it before but there is a sticky in the modders forum on how to make a nicostick. The parts themselves only cost about $8 or so but you will then need some batteries and a charger which will add to the cost some. If you like to build things then it would be worthwhile and the 14500 battery performs very well in my opinion. If you are not sure that you want to make one then it might be good money to put towards a commercial mod. Whichever you decide, I would still go with something that takes rechargeable lithium ion batteries that can be bought many places for just a few dollars each. To me the downfall of most of the starter kits is the battery life. Also with the larger batteries you will see better performance as they usually operate and maintain a higher voltage than the stock batteries.

    I so agree with Shaka808.

Started with Blu, what a rip-off with those ill-designed cartos. But i did like the taste of the liquid tho, I haven't found anything comparable so far. It's true that the research can last for quite a while, and being this whole world in its infancy I assume it will go on for years.

I am mostly a lurker on this forum (hence the ridicolous post count) and somewhat more active on an italian e-cig forum. If I may add my voice to those of forum-acclaimed experts, I'd advice to start with one of the kits and move on with mods at a later stage.

Thing is, ecig is different (for usage, taste and morphology) from analogs and will take time to "grow on you" so you're not disappointed with the experience. At least this worked well with me, heavy smoker with 30 analogs per day and now smoke free in few weeks I have been using my regular 510 and 901.
I am likely to try a kr8 and LR attys in the next few days, right now I am feet in into experimenting with different juices.

I am still not away from certain behaviors I am so used to, and that's why it's still important IMO to keep the device as resembling as possible to the analogs. I have been trying the eGo and it does deliver better than 510, but simply it's too heavy and "socially different".

Ah, last bit. Being a newbie to this world I definitely want to thank anyone in this forum that, mainly via PM, gave me the right advices. I hope to contribute soon to everyone's knowledge with my experience.

    Ciao!

    Marco (FdL).

Cost is an issue at the present as I mentioned, and Hittman subtly referenced (thank you :)) so for a time, I can in no way afford much of anything.

Here I find myself at the beginning of Day 3 with nothing but my bu and a sore throat.

I think a big pat of the TH seems to be directly related to the voltage supplied (As many of you will know) I find I only get a decent hit or 3 before it becomes *weak*.
I am constantly charging one batt or other in the PCC and just cycle between them.
Unfortunately, it has in a very short period seemed to negatively affect battery life.

I am going to assume that batt life will be further lessened by use of a 510 atty.
I had enough to order exactly 1. I hope it is ok.
Stupidly, I did not order any e-juice. (Scatterbrain happens! lol)

    Hey Hittman :)

Of the flavors I have tries I enjoy the coffee so far and the vanilla(when you can taste them ;))
The nic in the carts is the max that Blu offers, so I think 16mg.
I am trying my best to just have self-contol to try to drag these out and have them last.
It's like I am waiting for an analog to throw itself at me to the theme of Mortal Kombat...

FINISH HIM! (No really though, at least having a chat about it helps a bit)

Shadow, I have an almost full bottle of the red colored dekang coffee that I will most likely never use. It's the red colored coffee and there's probably about 28ml left of it. It's not really that great of a coffee flavor but if you want it, it's yours. Send me a pm with your address and I'll throw it in the mail to you. I'm not sure but might have some vanilla at home too. The coffee is 24mg and if I have the vanilla then it's probably the same strength. I wish I had some better coffee flavored liquid to send but that's all I've got.
