New guy... just made my first purchase!

Hello everyone! My name is Tom, I live in Southeast Pennsylvania and I've been lurking around the forum for several days trying to gain enough knowledge to make an educated decision as to what and where to order from. The sheer amount of information on this site is absolutely overwhelming to someone who has no knowledge when it comes to the enormous world of e-cigarettes.

My decision to want to start vaping is due to the fact that it seems to be a lot safer than "analogs". I work as a security guard or "bouncer" if you will at a nightclub, and I've noticed I just don't have the stamina like I used to when I was a teenager. I find myself huffing and puffing after physically having to remove and chase after drunk patrons who feel the need to fight with others, so I'm hoping that by vaping I can start to gain some of the stamina and energy back that I had when I was younger. Granted the best thing to do would be to quit all together, but I'll be honest, I enjoy smoking and I'm just not ready to give it up yet, so I might as well utilize the best option available to me, right?

Anyway, enough with the long intro. I just placed and order with Vapor4Life for their Vapor King Ultimate Automatic Kit along with a Diamond Series battery for a third battery so I'm not always having to charge them constantly. It was a tough decision as there are so many different kinds out there, but V4L seemed to keep coming up everywhere I looked and everyone had good things to say about what they have to offer, so that's ultimately what I ended up going with.

I'm a bit stumped on cartomizers, though. I plan to refill my own, and ordered several bottles of different flavors, but I haven't been able to find much information on where to purchase good quality blanks to fill, so if any of you could provide me with some assistance in that dept. I would be grateful :)

Hi Inked! Welcome to the forum! I use V4L myself, and really am happy with the company & products. I also have an Ego and Riva (510 stuff)... V4L does sell blank cartomizers, but I tend to order juice filled ones, and refill them with juice. Seems to make sense since the blank ones cost almost the same as filled ones. I also "drip" juices straight into the atomizer on my 510 models, which is just part of the vaping adventure...Once you get used to vaping, the analogs won't taste so good to you anymore. Enjoy the journey!

I know that V4L sells blank cartomizers, however don't know much about them. I just started myself and ordered some Clear Fluxomizers from GotVapes. They took a little getting used to, but so far I'm a big fan of them. I like being able to see how much liquid I have left.

Those clear Fluxomizers are definitely cool; however, I have absolutely no idea what the ohm rating means, or which one I would need for what I ordered.

Welcome to ecf inked!

Your in luck because v4l has great carto blanks on their site! I have used v4l cartos at 6v for a long time and they are workhorses imo.

One tip- once the cartos performance goes south don't thow them out. You can carefully pull the filler out of them and get great vapor and flavor for another few days on them.

I have many great mods and I still throw around the idea of picking up an xl auto battery from v4l just for times when I want a more cigarette like vape.

Welcome Inkedaffliction! I must say you have done so much better than me with your first purchase, you must have really read up because you've gone for an awesome choice!
I purchased before finding this forum and ended up with the dse901, not bad but hardly any vape and if it wasn't for my determination I could easily have given up. Got a riva901 now which I am loving, and going to be getting a tank system next!

Well done on saving your life!

Love to all!

Duncan

Hey, thanks for the welcome, and suggestions everyone!

I am, however, very interested in picking up some of the clear Fluxomizers from GotVapes suggest by DFreshmaker. I am very confused though about which Fluxomizer to order with the correct ohm rating so I don't burn up the battery. I did a bit of searching around the forum, and I read the KR8 is a 3.7v battery, and that the recommended safe zone is about 4w when using a carto, or in this case Fluxomizer, with a specific ohm rating. I was looking at the 2.8-3.0 ohm Fluxomizer they offer, and with the proper mathematical formula (3.7/2.8 x 3.7 = 4.8w), I come up with 4.8w. Is this a safe operating wattage for the KR8 battery?

Sorry if I just made your head explode; mine has felt like it was going to for the past few days from researching

Actually, the formula for wattage is Power (watts)= E(voltage) x I(current)

To find the current value it's I=E/R. 3.7/2.8=1.32 amps

using P=E*I you'd get 3.7 * 1.32 = 4.88 watts. You have the right answer!

The actual loaded voltage for a typical battery is about 3.2-3.4vdc which would yield less wattage.

The latest and greatest is the Ego-T Tank. It's a cartridge that has no filler. You fill it with a syringe and it's great all the way to empty. Each tank holds 1ml of juice. You can fill a couple of spares, cap them, and just pop in a new one when needed. A couple of spare carts and an extra battery and the Ego-T will last you 12 hours away from home. Most of us like the clear blue cart. You can see the liquid level through the plastic.

Awesome, thanks. So, if it actually yields less wattage then I could get away with the 2.8-3.0 Fluxomizers on the stock KR8 battery, correct?

Also, I'm glad you posted about the Ego-T. I just wish I had seen that before I placed the order for the V4L KR8 kit. Nevertheless, I think I'm going to go ahead and order the Ego-T kit as well because I really like the tank setup.

When I got my Fluxomizers from gotvapes, I wasn't sure how to fill them. I e-mailed Christian, the owner, and he was very helpful. He may be able to do the same with your question.

Cool, thanks. I think I am going to contact them because this ohm, wattage and voltage thing is extremely confusing to me.

Welcome, Inked!!! I have the VaporKing too, and I'm very happy with it. I use their cartomizers as well (V4L) because they're very good quality (I get the blanks mostly and fill them myself, but sometimes the prefilled for when I'm lazy, lol). I think you'll be happy with your kit, but feel free to buy as many different PV's as you like...whatever keeps you from smoking the stinky sticks :)

You'll get your order in no time flat...these guys are quick. And the batteries come mostly (about 80%) charged, so you get to pop one on the charger and start vaping right away with the other :)

See ya around ~

P.S. Stop by the V4L forum when you get a chance...lots of great people there that can answer any questions about your kit that you might have ;)
