As stated I am new to vaping. I have smoked for 12 years and I am trying to move on.

I have a Warlock Z Box 233w Mod, Ebeco Mini Super tank with Aspire Atlantis EVO .5 ohm atomizers, and I am running 3mg juice. When trying to vape I fill the tank and let stand for 2 hours then use only wattage mode at 20w. The atomizers say they should be 35-50w.

The problem I am having is that it feels very warm and harsh when smoking it. I have taken a few drags and lets stand and still get the same feeling. The mod is set to recognize the 5ohm coils so that shouldn't be an issue. I have repeated this process and went through three coils with the same effect. Please let me know if this is just the way things are. I used one of the starter kit vapes for a few weeks and it was far cooler when smoking than my current set up.

Thank you all so much in advance for the help.

5 ohms...? You mean .5, right?
Prime your coil before use. Do this by dripping liquid everywhere you see cotton. Make sure that wick is saturated. Set your power low....Like 15-20 watts. Slowly increase power until you're getting the vape you like.

I will try to drip prime the coil like Asbestos4004, mentioned above. I have not tried that and just assumed filling the tank and letting it sit forever would do the same. The wait time is much less when you prime it this way correct?

The starter was a pen style as well yes. The local vape store didn't say much about that huge of a difference between the 1.5 and 3mg juice but we will see if the priming fixes the problem.

Thanks again for the quick responses and help.

Yeah, always prime the coil. If you do you shouldn't have to wait any length of time. I prime the coil then fill the tank. By the time that is sorted it's time to vape away :thumb:

Other than that, double check your label on the juice. Definitely 3?

Remember though, if you already scorched that coil you will always get a burnt taste. You will be able to see that though, if so, you'll need a new coil :nah:

Remember to prime the coil this time ;)

I found this works best for me for priming. I just finished doing that about 5 minutes ago.

Carefully drip a bit of juice into the top of the coil on the cotton. Add a bit of juice on all the juice holes. Mount it and fill your tank. Wait 10 minutes. Take a few non-powered draws to help pull in more juice.

Then, starting at a very low wattage, say 10W, take a draw. No vapor? That's OK, you're priming and breaking in the coil, not vaping. Work your way up a few watts at a time until you reach the spot that you like best. Do not follow the "40W-100W recommended" crap on the coil. You might like 25W instead of 40W, and that's fine. You're doing nothing wrong, just going with your own taste.

When doing the above, if you get any slight hint of cotton or harshness like the cotton is dry, STOP, leave it another few minutes and then start back up a bit below that happened. Doing that your coil should be smooth and last a reasonable period of time, depending on the juice chosen.

finally, 3 mg nic isn't a lot even for a 0.5 ohm coil setup for a smoker who smoked a half pack or day more. Me? I'd start as 6 mg and reduce if it's too much.

Hi eskie. Why do you wait at all?
Admittedly I use rtas but I saturate the wick and then fill it up. If everything's set up correct you have a pretty much instant juice flow to the wick.

Why wait 10 minutes?

With my own builds that I drip directly onto the cotton myself? I never wait, that was the priming. For factory coils it's different. The cotton is packed much harder, the juice holes aren't the size you normally find on an RTA. It's just a different beast and needs some TLC to get running at the start. After that there should be no coil headaches.

Does it "whistle" when you inhale? I suggest increasing your inhale speed and strength.
Watch a few Utubes of folks using your device; mimic the draw style and strength.

Cheers
