I've been eyeballing the new Hana Modz v3. This thing looks really nice.

They suggest going with the Sony VTC4 for anything over 20w output. I have absolutely no plans of doing so at this time, but I think I would pick up the Sony just to be able to max this thing out in the future.

I'm curious about the charging ability of the DNA30 board. I can't imagine it would have the same safety and confidence of something like a Pila or Xtar. Charging the battery externally is definitely possible, but it would be a bit of a hassle since you would have to unscrew the back cover of the mod every night.

Does anyone have any thoughts on using the DNA board to charge a Sony VTC4?

do any of you notice your resistance reading changing once in awhile? For instance I currently have a 1.4ohm coil and sometimes it will jump up to 1.7.

The wires can move around when they heat up, and sometimes it will give a false/different reading. Its like that with alot of devices. Your first reading, when the coil is first tested, is usually the most accurate.

For those interested, Vapor Skinz has some Skinz for the V3 available. :) There is also a coupon (LOVE) good until Feb. 28th for 30% off. :thumb: Standard shipping is free.

Hana Modz – Vapor Skinz

I already have a couple of scratches on my blue V3, and picked up the Metallic Ebony Textured Wood for it. ;)

RiP Tripper's review of the V3 is up:

Hana Modz V3 DNA 30 - YouTube

My personal experiences with Trent are 100% consistent with what RT represents in his video. I purchased a couple of V1's, back when they were first released. Both are still working well, and both have been sent back for service once (both issues were user related, and not any fault with the mod).

I can't speak highly enough about the company. If you're considering spending your money there, I highly doubt you'll regret it. Great mods, GREAT service & support.

Enjoy!

I don't know if I'd cover the beautiful v3 with a wrap, but I did pick up the sonic screwdriver one for my SID. Good call!

I'm happy you found something.. :) I was glad I had a wrap on my v2 when it came time to sell it. ;) Nicks and scratches are not hard to do with this mod. I'm sick about the ones already there now. I'm surprised Vapor Skinz doesn't offer clear wraps though..

EDIT: I just checked.. J-Wraps does offer a clear wrap for the v3.. :)

The clear one would my choice. They only offered carbon fiber when I got mine. The scratch up pretty easily. LOVE the new design - and I hope you guys all them!

Carbon fiber wrap or clear wrap can't decide...! I kind of like the idea of having a carbon fiber wrap that way I don't see the screws, but then I like the idea of a clear wrap to show off the beautiful anodized aluminium color..

Just wondering if you apply the wrap do they cover the screws or leave the holes open, will you still be able to open the hana modz?

edit....

nevermind, saw a picture of how the skins are you can remove them and all the screws are exposed

No, they do not cover the screws.. I was able to open the back of my wrapped v2 :)

I have carbon fiber on mine and love it. The hana is a beautiful piece, but I have a carbon wrap on my vamo and like the "mean" look it gives it.

Why would you want the screws covered? Unless you don't like swapping out batteries...

Same. Love the black CF much more than I thought I would.

Tap, Tap, Tap.... Talk.
