Hi, Violetdream- how are you making out now??

If you're looking at juice now, try 70PG/30VG for the mix and 18mg for the nic strength.

Fruity, sweet, Menthol, tobacco flavors. Try to find a place that have small samplers- 3,4 ml. to try.

Often the good juices come from juice-primary suppliers, not equipment/hardware sellers.

The atomisers at Cignot are fine for a start- I used them for a few months.

Don't expect to be a perfect vaper right off the back. Best wishes, and blessings- this is a great thing for us at home parents.

Yet another option...round or whistle tip? I read through a thread here, but not sure what to choose.

Also, I contacted customer service and they recommended the 24 mg nic since I smoke full flavored. They also said I would go through approximately 20ml a week according to my smoking now.

Thanks again everyone! Still deciding, but I'm closer to ordering. Good thing I didn't order yet, I figured the kit came with everything you needed.

So what eliquid stores are recommended for quality and price? I went through the above forum suppliers list, but I thought I read about a store called heather's or something. Anyway, thanks again guys!!

    Heathersheavenlyvapes? Google this?

24mg is fine, just that alot of people drop down some because of the potency of it- but you're good!

Whistle or reg- your choice, can you get one of each?

Liberty flights, madvapes, hoosiers, vaporkings all have nice beginner kits and good prices.

Might want to read Heathers forum thread first, they're very popular and there might be a shipping delay.

Sounds like you may have made up your mind, but thought I'd toss this out there on juice. I've been vaping 8 months and constantly had cig cravings even though I didn't give into them. I'd been vaping at 18 mg nic. I had tried 24 mg but it was way too peppery for my tastes. I can't stand the taste of black pepper, and that's common in 24 mg nic. However, I can vape got vapes flux juice at 24mg and do NOT get that peppery taste, and the cravings I'd had the first 6 months of vaping, are gone now. The flux juice is a quality juice and the only one I've found that I can vape at 24 mg. I smoke full strength marlboro 100's for 37 yrs about 1-1/2 ppd. My personal favs on the flavors are the whipped pina colada extreme, blueberry colada smoothie and whipped strawberry pie. It is 70pg though and that's the only option, but you won't get a good throat hit from a high or all vg juice. Personally I can't stand filler cartos and I haven't found any juice holder that I love as much as the vivi nova. I use the full size, but they also have a mini. Replacement atomizer heads are 2.95 and that's all that has to be replaced on the juice holders, plus you always know just how much juice you have. I do clean the atty heads by dryburning about every 4 tankfuls, and have used the same ones for up to 6 months. So very cheap maintenance. As to batteries, I don't use anything anymore except my vv gripper, love it! It's plastic, but mine has held up great. I definitely prefer a mod which means you insert rechargeable batteries into it rather than recharge the whole thing like in an ego style. Li-ion batteries only have around 300-400 charging cycles, period. Once that's done, it's done and you have to either replace the whole thing as in ego style, or you can simply replace an 8.00-10.00 battery if you have a mod of some sort. I use the panasonic 18650 battieries and you'll need a charger. You may want to start out more simply to see if vaping will do the trick for you, but most who do end up with something like this within about 3-6 months of vaping. These are my personal choices, but at least the links give you ideas even if you decide to go another route. Good luck and congrats on your decision to try vaping!!!

hey... looks like you are on good tracks for starting... it will be nice to hear updates on what you choose.
...I knew I would like it when I started, the whole idea appealed to me... not being overly focused on quitting analogues (more just looking forward to the vaping), I just didn't feel inclined to smoke the analogues after a day or so... I did start with pretty strong nic fluid... I smoked as much, or more, than u...
...all the best... enjoy it. Cheers, ~M

It's been recommended a couple times, but for me, I can't stress the person-to-person contact enough. The places I've come across that are vape-only stores (as opposed to "head shops") have all been very helpful and patient. They'll let you sample juices before you buy so you at least have a direction to start with. The places springing up here in SoCal seem to be setting up as much as gathering spots as just vaping stores, I'd be willing to bet it's the same down there in Tampa, so you'll also get to meet and hang out with many people who are new as well as "veterans." I have found this whole community online, and in person, a great bunch who want nothing more than to help you succeed. Let us know how everything turns out!

Welcome Violetdream to ECF and the wonderful world of vaping :D

There are many great suggestions offered here, and there are is a great wealth of information to be found in this forum. Congrats on making the jump, and don't be afraid to ask questions. Either on here, or at your local vape shop. Also, if there are local vape shops that allow you to try out flavors, give them a try. One of the vape shops locally here has a vape lounge, which allows you to try any flavor they carry.

Congrats again, and welcome again

I would also suggest a Twist, but honestly, that takes a little smidgin' of math and science, maybe a little bit more than a noob needs to take in (and I mean noob in the most lovable sense of the word, no ill will).

My two cents, and take it for what it's worth, which is exactly 2 cents: Maybe try with a regular eGo battery. An eGo with a 1000 mAh battery (and there are those with passthrough, which saved my life!) is actually a pretty nice device. I think some are even fixed at 3.7 volts, which means, basically, you're going to get a pretty decent throat hit, vapor cloud, and flavor.

The regular plain ol' eGo is what got me off the cigs.

But I also back up the nomination for a Volt if you're looking for something that looks like a real cigarette, is reliable, easy to use, and relatively cheap.

What has worked for me is an Apoloe Mini. It's easy to use and pocket-sized, even though it's bigger than a cigarette. Spare batteries are a must, and I'm about to order a few extra clearomizers, as some flavors tend to linger. A sample pack of juice is a great idea, since it allows you to try various strengths and flavors. I'm pretty new myself and haven't tried a lot of things, but this is what let me quit smoking. An Ego Twist is definitely on my wish list, though.

Well...I did it! Just ordered an eGo start up kit for now, a bunch of juice, and even threw in 10ml of coconut flavored juice (yummm). I sure went back and forth with all the great suggestions here, and almost ordered the 510 instead, but I'm glad I decided on this.

I can't wait for my order to arrive...I'm very excited about this. Thanks again everyone...good vaping vibes, thoughts, and prayers would be greatly appreciated, lol!

I'll post an update as soon as I get my stuff and start vaping! :vapor:

That's great!!! Now the vapemail wait, that's the hard part. :) There may be something I missed back in the rest of this that you meant by 510 but ego's are 510 that's the thread size, so any 510 threaded juices holders or ego holders (like stardusts) will fit on them. Can you post a link to the kit you ordered? Best wishes to you with this and and congrats on jumpin in to vaping!!

I think she mightve meant The 510, as in the cig sized (pre-ego) Joye product.
