Hey everybody, my name is Scott. I've been hanging around, lurking for a little while learning everything I can. Started vaping and quit smoking January 18th. I did a lot of research at first and decided on the Smoktech Sid with a Protank 2 as my first e-cig. I enjoyed it so much I immediately quit cigarettes and haven't had one since. My girlfriend decided to go with an Ego twist and Kanger T3S. After almost 2 months, entirely too much time spent reading about vaping paraphernalia, we've acquired several devices and it's become a full fledged hobby/obsession :D

After using the Sid/Protank for a couple weeks and learning about rebuildables and Ohms law, I jumped right into mechanical mods, building my own coils, and spending lots more dollars on other mods, RBAs and tanks.

Here's where we currently sit, and I'm sure it won't stop here

Her: Sigelei Zmax Mini/Smoktech Champion Pyrex Nova tank
Smoktech 18350 Sid/Smoktech Champion Pyrex Nova tank V2

(She likes purple)

Me: Smoktech 18650 Sid/Smoktech Champion Pyrex Nova tank (although I dropped and broke the inner glass tube, so now I'm just using the plastic outer piece as the tank)
Smoktech 18350 Sid/Drunker tank
Infinite Stingray/Kayfun Lite
HCigar Nemesis/Pyrex RSST

If you couldn't tell, we're big fans of the Sid. The 18650 black Sid was my first purchase. It worked so well and I liked it so much I bought us both 18350 versions. I build all my own coils with cotton wicks in everything and I've gotten really good at it. We never use stock coils or wicks at all. My mini silver Sid and micro coiled drunker is my go to, all day, take to work vape. I love everything about it. It's such a nice warm, flavorful vape, and I have Efest red and purple 18350s that will last me a 12 hour day (down to 3.6-3.5 volts when I usually swap batteries).

The Stingray and Kayfun came in this week and are quickly becoming my favorites. I built a vertical nano coil at 1.0 Ohm with cotton and it hits very nicely with great flavor and chucks out some decent vapor. Running Efest 35 amp purple 18650s in the mechanicals and those things rock.

Oh, and my Evo....hence EvoScott

since January? and i thought i had it bad. good luck on your journey and welcome!

Wow ! I started vaping jan 10th, and have also bought several devices. Started out with ego-c, then quickly moved to an itaste vv/vw e3 with a kanger T3s tank.... However, I'm getting bored with it- well at least the T3s. It holds almost 3 ml which is good but I'm tired of the constant maintenance. It randomly tastes burnt and definitely mutes the flavor. I chain vape and have to constantly put it down due to it heating up.
I'm looking to possibly get into rebuildables and am looking for suggestions and/ or resources. I tend to chain vape and I'm looking for something that doesn't mute flavor.
Any help?

I have a T3S also that I didn't use for very long for that same reason. Even after rebuilding the coil and wick, I couldn't get the taste out of it that something like a Protank or a top coil tank would give me.

When I first got the Drunker, which is a top coil rebuildable tank, I was immediately impressed with it. Great flavor and a nice warm vape. I just got the Kayfun a few days ago too...that thing is awesome. It's in my hand right now actually. Again, great flavor and warm vapor. The Protank worked well for me for awhile if you like a cooler vape, but it's a little to cool for me now ever since I found a few that provide more warmth.

Welcome Dude.. Im new too. Trying to get my five post done to lol. I usually stick to Mech Mods but your passion for the SID really makes me want to go out and get one.
I really like the Sid. Not only does it look nice, it works very well also and i haven't had any problems with them at all. I run it in wattage mode around 12 watts normally and I get a good consistent vape all day. It's great for an out and about mod, especially in 18350 mode. It'll fire anything down to 1.2 Ohms, anything lower and I use the mechanicals.

The only thing I would change is to be able to read the resistance without having to fire it.

I was looking at the kayfun as well. I don't really have a preference on warm or cool vape as long as it is full of flavor and low maintenance. I don't think I want to stay with traditional clearos (pro tanks etc.) I think I'm heading to rebuildables. Does anyone have long term success with any of them in particular as well as a good resource to get started with building them? I have seen a lot of conflicting info thus far.
