Hi All,

I've just joined. I'm on my third attempt to switch from smoking to vaping.

First attempt was with Cigalikes back in 2012 (I think). Epic fail, didn't get along with them at all.

In 2013, with a baby on the way I bought an E-go clone. Better, but it didn't last. I lived in Portugal at the time and eCigs were only just taking off. I had two and one only worked for a day. The shop was miles away, the Camels were cheap, and the eCig soon ended up gathering dust.

This time I feel far more positive. I purchased a Curve 2 (20w iStick) and have added a Nautilus tank (and a bunch of other spare tanks for different flavours). That was on Monday (it's now Sunday) and I've smoked less than a packet of analogs since - I only lit one yesterday and put it out because it tasted nasty. I'm not banning myself from analogues but am dealing with the cravings fairly well. Hopefully I won't have one at all today.

I'm smoking an assortment of liquids, mainly 12mg and mostly VG-heavy. Particularly enjoying Raspberry Custard Boom juice and Decadent Vapours Orangella mixed with a little Lime Zinger. I don't seem to get on well with anything heavy on PG - headaches and coughing...

Still haven't found the Holy Grail of anything that really works for me Tobacco-wise. Closest I've come is a mix of DV American Red and Jac Real Tobacco, but actually I'm enjoying the other flavours much more. That said, I would like a really strong cigarette type taste for when the cravings are strong. Any suggestions?

Anyway, just thought I'd share how I'm getting on. The forum has been a great source of inspiration :)

Here's a pic of my kit so far. Yes, I'm suffering from shiny-thing-syndrome, and have spent far more than I would have spent on cigarettes!

You didn't mention what nic level you're using, but it might help with cravings to keep a tank of higher nic for those cravings -- maybe a step or two higher.

Maybe you spent more on your stash there (great start, by the way), but unless the shinyistis get too bad, you'll likely be spending a lot less in the long run.

hello and welcome aboard.
hopefully over time as your smoking
decreases your urge for strong tobacco
flavors will subside. from what i have read
there are none that are really spot on.
some get pretty close.
i never got into regular cigarette flavors
save menthol.
i am sure some one will post some good recommendations
for you.
regards
mike

Yup I'm referring to eclipse, sorry that didn't work out for you. If you like more exotic tobacco flavors (like figs, caramel, and spices alongside a tobacco taste) then charlie noble is great and fairly cheap (and free shipping from vape dojo). Halo has a good sized catalog of more straight tobacco type flavors, but as mentioned they are not high VG.

Welcome to the forum! It's been 9+ months vaping after smoking for 25 years and wow! Once you get accustomed to the great Flavours available you will not go back. During that 9 months I had maybe 5 smokes and each one tasted worse than the other.

You'll notice your teeth clean, brigther compextion, higher oxygen levels etc...

It's not how we fall it's how we get up

Be mentally tough and before you know you'll be building your own coils and making your own juice and you know exactly what your vaping. I love it!!

Good luck and welcome !
