Hi,

I just joined and am overwhelmed by the information. It's really amazing how much information is over here.

I have read most of the sticky posts. "The wonderful world of vaping", "Choosing an e-cig" by Scottes.

Right now, I do understand what I need to know to make my first choice. What I am having trouble with is the different model numbers. 501, 401 402 and so on. It's all very confusing.

Can someone point me to the right direction (a post or a wiki) to which I can refer to whenever I come across a model no. in the forums.

Cheers!!!

Probably the best thing to do would be visit an online retailer (actually a few since some only sell certain models).

You'll find that lots of times the model numbers are only referring to the atomizer/cartridge type. The Joye 510 atomizer style is tremendously popular and used by a ton of different vendors for their e-cigs.

An example would be the Joye Ego/Tornado, Riva, Hello Good-Buy. They are all similar models with larger batteries (I ordered a Riva personally due to complaints I read about buttons on the Ego/Tornado), but use the 510 atomizer. What this means for you is that you can use any 510 atomizer/cart or cartomizer on them. and if you have other 510 style e-cigs, you can interchange the atomizer/carts or cartos. So you can use your big battery model when at home or driving to work where changing batteries would be a pain and use the smaller cigarette style batteries when hanging out at a party or bar where you may not want much additional attention.

Oh, and to make it all even more confusing, they have adapters so the batteries for one model will attach to the atomizers of another. This means that your 510 style can use a 901 style or others.

Hope this has helped a little.

I would recommend trying something simple and relatively inexpensive to start with. Get a Simple Joye 510 kit and see how you like it (both Vaping and the 510 itself) That way your not spending tons of $$$ on something you wont like and end up wishing you had bought something different.

Just my 2 Cents
