Man, gotta try that. I think brown would be excellent.

Just note, it takes a while to get the amount right. Start off really light. You don't want to overpower the bacon . . . just enhance it. I've sprinkled a little BBQ and other rubs over bacon too. You can do a lot more than have just plain bacon.

**I added a link to the bacon roll too.**

Footless bunnies ... flying saucers ... fried bologna ... spam (now bacon -- I sense a theme developing). I've obviously missed out on a very interesting conversation. Might be too late for the Hex, but ya can't win if you don't play.

well if it does go to 1000 posts, our noses are hard to the grindstone for ya'll:lol:

where's the linky? I'm not into BBQ sauce cuz it too much like ketchup, but rubs.........yummmmmm. I think I get it, just a little sweet to enhance the salt like we do with sweets but in reverse, huh?

You know . . . there are studies that are showing old knowledge of bacon is not correct. The openings in the arterial cells aren't big enough to allow the cholesterol from the bacon fat to enter. Lard and real butter are actually being found to be less harmful than margarine.

I switched back to real butter a long time ago... :thumb: But I still use Olive Oil in most of my cooking, and sometimes add a little pat of butter just to give it some extra flavor. You can even saute your onions in just plain water, too...

I have for many years thought about "plucking" my newfie mix, but he gets sooo dirty.

Well you have to wash it anyway. You could bathe him prior to grooming ;-) Dog & cat hair can be prickly though. Even the downy undercoats. I was commissioned to do cat hair for a lady and gawd was it awful to work with. Still makes me shiver:lol:

Bacon:

Fry it in a pan.
Broil it.
Sprinkle sugar on top, then broil it.
Chop it up and add it to everything - even ice cream. (Seriously, if you like to dip it in your syrup . . . )
Make a hat out of it and wear it.
Do whatever you want, but be forewarned . . . this is amazing!

My mom has BAGS of fur from her two long hairs. I was thinking about getting her one of those drop spindles and some roving to mix in. She's the queen of half done projects though. (maybe that's where I learned it.)

Google finger or thigh spinning. Sample a length, ply it back on itself and have your mom wear in against her neck (most sensitive area to test), like tucked into a t-shirt. It shoould cure her of wanting a cat fur scarf  Now blending with wool and making felt is an easy & fun project. She could felt over a ball to make a beret or over a rock for a pouch/bag.
