No, the MVP20W uses an ARM processor chip, not an Evolv chip. innokin are using a custom "Evolv Experience" chip in the SVD 2.0. This is not the same chip as used in the MVP20W.

Now this is interesting--I admit I was confused because I watched Phil's video and his conversation with John and Brandon from Evolv and a guy from Innokin and they were discussing their cooperation, so I just assumed that all dna chipsets used by Innokin would come from Evolv. My mistake. I also thought, apparently mistakenly, that the dna 40 was the first DNA with step-down capability...

Hmm... So do we know for sure that the MVP 20 really can fire below 4.2 volts?

No more whistling? ;)

I wouldn't say no more. If you suck hard enough, it'll whistle.

(Boy, I hope no one takes that out of context :p)

Specs sheet says it fires from 3.3v to 7.5v.

Very interesting. I'm just a bit disappointed that didn't bother to redesign it a bit--I hate the button placement, even though I'm used to it by now. They had a chance to make a truly great battery and it looks like they blew it. The iStick's design is far superior, IMO--the size, the rounded edge, the button placement--even though the MVP 20 is probably a much better battery overall.

Perhaps they'll make up the ground lost with the form factor design of the new MVP 3. The MVP 20Watt is suppose to be the familiar, while the MVP3 is suppose to be the "WOW." ;)

I really hope so... But a good-looking, cute and solidly built MVP 20 (with accurate voltage output and a solid spring-loaded 510 connection) would have grabbed the entry-level DNA market and offered a serious incentive to Eleaf to improve the iStick. Oh well...

I sure hope that the MVP 3 will deliver. If not, I'm getting a VS rDNA 40--even if it means I'll have to wind my own nickel coils.

They did mention they were coming out with a few different designs. Too bad they started with the MVP20w. They did fix everything that was wrong with the MVP2 though. SS 510 with spring loaded center pin and 20w but the form factor is outdated. I'm sure they'll still sell a ton of them at under $50. Button placement is subjective and there's still a lot of people that like it.

I'm glad I got my rDNA 40. I got my tracking info the day they sent out the cyber monday deal (20% off!!!) but after receiving it, I'm not all that upset about paying full retail. It's really that good. If you use Nautilus tanks, they're selling coils in Ni200 so you really don't have to wind your own ;). Kanger and Innokin coils should be coming out soon too.

That's true. However, I think that my MVP2 is too narrow to seamlessly accommodate larger (19mm+) tanks--and bothers me, frankly. I don't like top-heavy devices.

I don't and I won't use Aspire anything--but that's off topic and I'm afraid that if I elaborate, I may get reprimanded again... ;)

VS already has Kanger nickel coils--20 bucks for a 5-pack. :D

Define outdated. Box mods seem to be becoming the norm. At least around my area they are. So it's in a box , that more and more people are getting on board with, and has a chip that could conceivably equal a provari in vape "smoothness" (yes, I know the mods that use dc to dc already do, but most regulateds don't). I fail to see outdated in this, other then the 20 watts..... And unlike the P3, you won't have to pay out the wazoo for it. I bet it will do really well, especially in the intermediate vapers crowd, who want more then their ego batteries can provide, but aren't ready for super sub ohm or high wattage

I have thought about and looked at this release some more and I have kind of morphed my opinion a bit from "not impressed" to:

If you look at it as just an updated version of the V2 then they did indeed address some of the main issues and it is a good improvement.

If you look at it as a V3 then it is an almost epic fail.

Perspective I guess.

As far as it competing with the newer mini devices there's also the newly cloned Hana mini with a built-in Li-Po and 30 watts, and I actually am quite hopeful to see a device with a generic ARM SoC, who knows what options they can add through relatively simple software updates compared to a dedicated purpose built chipset like the Evolv and DNA's. :p

Not to mention the IPV Mini 30W by P4U.

I am disappointed and not impressed with the mvp20

Got my IPV mini shipped for $49. The MVP didn't change enough for me to justify the purchase. I have 2 20w devices already and a 50w. It looks the same as the v2 with the exception of the 510. I bet it's still the same size and weight. I just put my v2 back in the box after a 2 week carry. Although it's a great device it's still heavy and bulky compared to my other 2, 20w boxes. I'm sure the mini will be my new go to for me it'll fire everything I build and won't have a problem with my atlantis. It's also the right size to carry in the pocket of my cut when I ride.

Do you have a link for that IVP mini, please?

Where did you get it for $49 shipped?
