Cross-referencing from the
Cignot eGrip thread for convenience:
Yep. eGrip #1 has the RBA where two juice inlet holes are blocked from wicking by the screw posts / deck when the RBA tube / chimney is tightened down - and it gurgles a bit at the start of the draw, I'd say 75% of the time. Again, I'm using 100% VG, so I would imagine folks using thinner PG are having it worse.
eGrip #2 has an RBA where all four juice inlet holes are accessible to wicking when the RBA tube / chimney is tight. No gurgles.
A picture's a thousand words, of which I am soooo guilty of

This is where the juice inlet holes should be, ideally (IMO). This is the new one I bought today, after inspection before purchase at Cignot. The RBA in eGrip #2 is identical. I hope there's enough detail in these pics, they get sized down / low rezzed on upload to the forum.
Anything else, where the holes are aligned behind the screw posts / deck, aren't going to have wicking touching the holes directly when the wick is saturated. Unless someone gets super fussy / dexterous with a needle or something to get what little wicking would fit between the tube and the post. And if these holes aren't lined up right, that might explain all the gurgling / flooding / leaking / poor performance in general folks are having, and would imagine made worse the thinner the juice is / harder the draw.
Sorry if I missed it, cig - you try the sanding of the bottom end of the tube trick yet? I figured just looking for one with the right alignment out of the box was better, in case sanding brought the height of the tube down enough to degrade the seal at the top of the RBA cap to the air tube through the tank. I suppose there might be enough thread in the base body itself to crank down with to make up for that, though.
I do have to add that while initially, I was turned off by tube mods - but every time I've been in Cignot, the eGo ONE has been becoming more and more attractive. When more flush with cash I might get one and find out what all this sub ohm business is about, anyway
